Chapter 06
I really couldn't believe it. How could Hazel still be after me like this?
I was convinced that all of this was happening because of Hazel, and I didn't understand what she wanted from me, even though she had already taken everything from me.
Without realizing it, I started to cry. My tears, which had already dried up, began to fall again, and Jayden's words suddenly made me look at him.
“You don't need to cry, nothing will be solved by your tears.”
I didn't feel like Jayden was mocking me, but on the other hand, I also felt very ashamed because how could a stranger like him comfort me, while on the other hand, the Cendana Pack, which I had previously protected, was now hostile towards me, the person who protected all the werewolves.
“But what can I do, Alpha? Everything I do only ends up being mocked in their eyes!” I laughed bitterly. “Do you think I'm a wolf who deserves all that? Do I deserve this just because I'm an Omega who can't fully transform into a wolf? Is it because of my disability as a wolf that I never get justice?” I asked painfully.
I was very aware that a wolf like me should be able to transform into a perfect wolf from a young age, but what could I do? I was only able to mind-link with my she-wolf for the first time when I married Richard.
I am very aware that I am not as perfect as Hazel, who can exchange shit with her she-wolf, even though she is only 15 years old, but is all of this my fault? I also really want to experience all of that, but the Moon Goddess's destiny mocks me.
Now I see Jayden staring at me a little longer, I realize his gaze is very flat. He's not trying to mock or pressure me at all, I even feel like he looks very sympathetic hearing all the wounds I complain to him about.
“You don't have to feel that guilty and we might be able to turn around and attack them,” Jayden replied, taking me completely by surprise.
How could there be someone who was truly by my side for the first time?
I even began to feel that my hearing was starting to fail.
Seeing that I didn't believe his words, Jayden gestured for his subordinates to leave the room.
“We can attack them back, Erica. Don't be afraid, I'll help you.”
For whatever reason, my heart immediately started beating faster. Jayden's clear words made me unable to react quickly because, for the first time, I realized that in this cruel world, there were also people who were willing to show me a little sympathy. He really wanted to be by my side.
However, I quickly rejected all those ideas. I came back to my senses and realized I shouldn’t be hoping for anyone in this world.
With my body still injured, I tried to get up. “Thank you, Alpha, but you don't need to get involved. I will face them myself because I don't want them to take everything from me again. I won't run away from them like a loser.”
My words were full of determination even though my body was very weak.
Jayden now stared intently at me, as if he was hurt by what I said to him.
“What do you mean, Erica? You can't even stand properly! You could die in a matter of seconds facing them, don't do anything stupid!” he said with a flash of anger in his eyes.
“But this is my problem, Alpha. You shouldn't interfere because I'm not your citizen. Right now, I'm just a Rogue because I don't have a Pack to protect me,” I replied, because what could I expect from a man like him? Jayden was not at all responsible for how I felt.
I tried to stand up straight again. Finally, with a trembling body, I was able to get up from the bed.
“Then do you want to die in my territory?” Jayden's question sounded very piercing to my ears.
“Calm down, Alpha, I won't die here. I won't spill my blood in your territory because I realize that I am very dirty!” I began to feel offended. I now realized that perhaps Alpha Jayden just didn't want his territory to be dirty with the blood of a Replacement Luna like me.
"What are you saying, Erica? You are not dirty at all! Have you never wondered why they all came after you here?" Alpha Jayden seemed annoyed by my sarcastic remark, and he held my hand very gently.
I really didn't understand why Jayden was like that to me. Even in our five years of marriage, Richard had never touched me so gently.
“What do you mean, Alpha?” I wanted to immediately let go of his hand, Jayden, but he was so strong, and I was so weak that I could only surrender to the warmth of his hand as it began to warm my body.
“Don't you feel something now?” Jayden asked, confusing me. He was now looking at his hand that was holding mine.
“What do you mean, Alpha? I just feel your hand is warm,” I said quickly before Alpha Jayden misunderstood me.
“Do you want to hear a big secret, Erica?” Jayden asked me in a mysterious tone.
“Tell me, Alpha,” I replied quickly because I felt that Jayden might be doing something by holding my hand like that.
“They are all after you because you have a unique body, and actually, they probably want to kill you so they can control the hidden power in your body because only a very lucky Alpha can obtain this kind of power,” Jayden's answer made me feel like lightning was striking my body again.
“Power? What do you mean?” I asked, not wanting to beat around the bush because I was well aware that I was just a defective wolf.
“You possess a very unique power. Your body seems to be an excellent vessel for an Alpha to obtain immense power. And don’t you think that with all the secrets of the Cendana Pack in your hands, they would all let you live? Remember, Erica, you’ve been the one taking care of the Cendana Pack all this time.”
