Chapter 3

Emily's POV

  It was the voice of Blake's best friend, Jeremy.

  Blake answered, "My dear, she went out with her brother to visit family. It'll take them three days to come back. We have these few days to ourselves. I miss your butt so much. Let me in."

  "You're so annoying… You and your fiancée… Have you two done it before?" Jeremy said in between moans.

  Blake said, "Are you jealous, you little b*tch? Don't worry. You're my one and only. I've been with that woman for two years but I haven't done anything… Oh, God, you're too tight!"

  I covered my mouth with my hand. Never in my wildest would I have imagined that Blake would do this to his best friend.

  "You can always say you love me when actually you're still going to marry Emily!" Jeremy retorted.

  He sounded like a spoiled brat.

  "You should know I'm telling the truth," Blake insisted in a gentle tone. "I only have my eyes on you."

  Heh. It turned out that Blake wasn't naturally a cold or irritable person. In front of the person he loved, he would act warm and fuzzy.

  Blake went on, "Listen to me, my love. Before I become a Beta, I can't have any scandals on my plate. And we need to have a child."

  "When I get married to her and she gives birth to one, I'll come up with a reason to divorce and return to your side. We can have our happily ever after that way. Have you forgotten we agreed on this?"

  "I haven't!" Jeremy's voice was mellower now. "You must promise me then when you have sex with her in the future, I'll be the only one in your mind."

  Blake reassured, "Of course, you're the only one in my heart. That b*tch is nothing but a tool. I know this is hard for you to take in, so let me love you as much as I can…"

  "Ah… faster, please…" Jeremy moaned.

  The room was filled with sounds that were assaulting my eardrums. Blake's words were like a sharp dagger that he had jabbed straight into my heart.

  So that was the real reason why he wanted to marry me.

  I was at a loss for words. I couldn't stop my tears from leaking out.

  I had given Blake everything over these two years to be his mate and future wife, only to find out I was a tool in his plans.

  Just like what my brother did to me...

  The sadness in my mind was swiftly overcome with anger towards Blake.

  I really wanted to force the door open and murder my fiancé and his paramour.

  But I didn't have the courage to do so. I ran away instead.

  My wolf was very upset, as she accused me of being a coward. I didn't want to hear from her. I blocked out the mind link and ran off like the wind.

  I didn't stop until I ran entirely out of breath.

  I sat by a nearby river for a long time until I was calm enough. I reopened the mind link to communicate with Nina.

  Nina comforted me, "Emily, they're the ones who are in the wrong. Why did you run away? You should've rushed in and mauled those two scums to death just now! Have you forgotten how Blake used your love for him like you're a slave?"

  "Nina," I said. "Blake is our mate. It would be very painful to lose any mate."

  Nina said, "Oh, of course I know that. I don't want to lose my mate, but don't you think taking care of ourselves is more important? I don't want to suffer with you for the rest of my life."

  I sighed. "Nina, they're very powerful men. Even if we kill them, the Watson family won't let us go. "

  Nina roared, "Is that why you're not going to do anything? All you do is run and suffer in silence! I can't stand how weak you are now. I have to say, ever since you met Blake, you aren't yourself at all. You're just like a sheep!"

  I countered, "No, not this time! I admit when I heard what you said, I was very sad. I was so sad I even lost my mind. But now, I've calmed down. This time, I must get my revenge on Blake."

  Nina's roars finally died down. "What are you planning to do?"

  "I'll destroy whatever he cares about!" I declared.

  My wedding with Blake was in a month. I had invited nearly all the people I had gotten along the best with in the Silvermoon Pack.

  During this occasion, if I revealed Blake's true colours, the Watson family wouldn't be able to cover up his tracks.

  Our mateship was Moon Goddess' blessing and what he had done amounted to blasphemy. He would lose his Beta position in the pack.

  But before that, I must collect enough evidence!

  Just as I was lost in my thoughts, my phone rang. The screen read, "Baby Blake."

  I took a few deep breaths before answering the phone. Before I could even speak, Blake's voice was already coming over from the phone. "The elders informed me there'll be a family party tomorrow morning. You also have to attend it. I'll see you at seven o'clock."

  He hung up instantly without waiting for my response.

  Had I not known better, I might have felt delighted to be taken to this gathering.

  But now, what I heard was merely a disdainful and disrespectful order!

  It was sickening.

  I had made up my mind that Blake Watson must pay!

  ……

  The next morning, I appeared at the party in a white dress.

  Blake was waiting at the entrance with Jeremy beside him.

  I walked towards them with a smile and wrapped my arms around Blake. "Darling, have you been waiting for a long time?"

  I was over the moon noticing the look of jealousy on Jeremy's face.

  So, I pretended to almost kiss Blake in front of him.

  Sure enough, Jeremy couldn't stand it and excused himself after a quick apology.

  Blake saw how upset Jeremy was and left with the excuse of going to the bathroom.

  I knew then he was going to have a moment with his "mistress".

  I wouldn't let this opportunity for evidence slip past me. I followed behind my fiancé quietly.

  Just then, a familiar figure that appeared not far from us left me stunned.

  Holy shit! Why was he here?

  When Owen looked back and grinned at me, my heart was thumping like a drum…
