Chapter 4 Four

My eyes turned cold as pain and regret surged through my heart, recalling how he had taken my first time with little or no regard.

He pushed inside me like a beast. Rough and hard without caring.

I looked for my bag and pulled out my phone.

I texted my beta before dragging my weak foot to the cold floor. My sore body got out of bed and I grabbed my torn dress from the floor.

Devilish red, some called it.

I shoved it on and headed out of the room with no intentions of ever looking back.

He didn't want to reject me but he was going to mate with another.

Where does that leave me?

Alpha Zane!

The hotel receptionist noticed me but didn't say anything. I could only see the look in her eyes, the worry and confusion.

I knew I looked terrible and pathetic in a torn devilish red dress.

When I stepped out of the hotel building, Ray, my beta was already waiting for me.

He didn't ask me what happened. He just got into the driving seat after me and drove me away from the Blue Moon territory.

I finally let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

My chest was still tight. His words were still fresh in my mind.

He knew I was his fated mate yet he was planning to marry another.

The pain was fresh. It cut more than a rejection.

I never thought I would ever find my fated mate because I never prayed for him to appear.

My grandmother was right, the moon does what it wants, so would I.

My wolf, Isla. She growled slightly inside me. Her pain obvious.

" Do you want to make a stop, Alpha?" Ray asked and I said no.

The only thing I wanted to do at the moment was drive my claws into Zane's chest and pull out his heart.

Look him in the eyes and crush it into shreds.

He fucked me when he knew he didn't want me and I was going to make him pay for the betrayal and the pain.

The car drove into the crystal pack after more than four hours on the road.

It was dark when the car stopped in front of the Alpha mansion.

The warriors at the entrance bowed as I walked into the house.

It was still warm enough to be called home. I entered my bedroom and peeled off my dress.

I stepped under the warm shower. Memories of what I heard, his unmistakable tone flashed into my mind as the water ran down my skin.

I could still feel his touch on my skin but it didn't feel like it should.

I stepped out of the shower with a towel around me. My silver hair was wet but freed from his scent.

I picked up my grandmother's scent and I knew she was in my room while I was in the shower.

The torn dress was gone. She took it with her.

My eyes sting with hot burning tears but I didn't let myself feel any sadder, not when I was going to make him pay the price of his betrayal.

I changed into my nightwear. White shorts with a thin nylon top.

I lay on my bed and barely closed my eyes.

Isla didn't make a sound. She just went silent, the whole night and honestly, I appreciated it.

I woke up at the first crack of dawn to go for a run.

My chest felt tight. Too tight to breathe.

The sky was dark and cloudy.

I didn't mind that it was going to rain. I ran through the woods under the heavy rain for hours unleashing my anger and frustration.

I let my wolf out.

I hated how I let him touch me, as if my body belonged to him.

I hated how I melted into his arms like a teenager.

I stopped in a flash just at the edge of the mountain.

My silver wolf finally let out a howl, shaking the entire forest.

Her eyes turned purple as Zane's last words pulled up in her head.

' He will pay for the betrayal.' she growled as she turned back on her four toes to head back to the pack.

Day has broken but the sun was yet to rise.

The silent noise from the kitchen caught my attention as I stepped into the mansion.

Barefooted, silver hair disheveled and my eyes cold as ever.

I stepped up the stairs into my room.

I took a shower and changed into a pair of leather pants that reached my waistline and a white top that I tagged inside the pants showing off my flat belly and wide hips.

I brushed my silver hair and held it behind me with a hair clip.

I slipped my feet into a black leather boot before stepping out with a cold yet storming gaze.

My grandmother was still in the kitchen, I could smell her.

" Alpha ." An omega walked out of the kitchen as soon as I stepped down from the stairs.

" Lady Selena wants you to have this." She said and without a word, I took it from her and sealed my lips around the edge.

I gulped down everything and handed the empty glass to her.

I took my seat at the head of the table.

It used to be my father's but now mine.

" I made your favorite." My grandmother appeared from the kitchen with a tray of breakfast.

I don't drink coffee because coffee reminds me of my father.

I eat my breakfast without coffee and yet I manage to finish work before schedule.

" Thank you, Grandma," I said as I took a bit of the juicy shawarma that looked like it was going for a beauty pageant.

" You look like when you were twenty." and I gave her a thin smile.

" I'm not thirty, Grandma." She nodded and the hall was silent.

" I won't ask you about last night." She broke the silence.

I froze but regained my composure immediately.

" I don't want to talk about it," I said, feeling her gaze.

" The moon goddess will correct it." She said.

Of course, she knew I had met my mate and probably knew something was off.

Zane's scent was all over my dress.

" There is no room for corrections, Grandma," I said firmly, meeting her gaze head-on.

" You don't have to fight everyone, Calista." She always says that.

" It's either I fight or I lose my wolf," I told her and instantly picked up my beta's scent.

It didn't take long before he appeared through the door.

" Alpha Ronan is here," Ray said and I turned my gaze to look at my grandma who was silently looking back at me.

I knew what she would say.

She was the priestess of the Crystal pack and she believed the moon goddess fixes everything.

But I didn't.

Ronan was the alpha of the North pack and he was Zane's enemy.

There was no better way to handle that asshole than teaming up with his enemies to burn him in his own flame.
