Chapter 7 Seven

Zane's POV

It has been a week and I still can't seem to forget about that day.

Her smooth skin and her screams while I fucked her hard beneath me.

Her voice.

Fuck!

I couldn't concentrate on work. I have literally spent the whole week thinking about her.

There was no single day that I didn't think of her.

Calista.

That was her name. My fated mate.

She was anything but weak. Even though I wasn't looking forward to meeting Mariam in a few weeks, I couldn't stop myself from thinking about her.

The incredible sex we had. A part of me wished she would appear before me once again or maybe more.

I wished she would look for me since we were fated mates.

I have been practically waiting for her to show up in my pack to claim me but no, she hasn't.

And the thought of that didn't sit well with me.

I didn't want to think she wasn't interested in the mate bond but it seems like it.

My chest stops each time I come to that conclusion.

She didn't want me.

But what if my wolf and I want her?

I leaned back in my seat as the door opened.

" I have done as you said and this is what I was able to gather about her." Sternly, my beta handed me a file.

" She is indeed the alpha of the Crystal pack. She took over from her father five years ago after he was poisoned to death." Sternly explained and a twisted smile appeared at the corner of my lips.

Interesting.

I was the Alpha of Alphas yet I didn't know we had a female alpha in the west. And she has ruled for five years without me meeting her even once.

" Over the past five years a week ago was the first time she made a public appearance." Starnly continued and I couldn't help but feel more intrigued.

The moon goddess paired me with a female Alpha.

I couldn't help but recall her beautiful golden blue eyes.

The same eyes that felt hard to tame.

" Yesterday, his uncle showed up in the pack after twenty-seven years." I looked up at Starnly because that part wasn't in the file.

" What does he want?" I knew the answer to my question.

" I had him investigated and it turned out three decades ago he lost the alpha title to his elder brother, Calista's father. And he disappeared after that."

" He is a dangerous man. His wolf is a corrupt beast with hunger for power." I looked up at Sternly and slowly pulled a stick of cigarettes from the box on the table and inserted it in my mouth.

" He is out for his niece," I whispered coldly.

" Exactly. He thinks she is a woman and he is planning to use the pack elders against her."

That is what anyone in his shoes would do.

Go for her weak spots which were her gender.

" What do you think will happen, Sternly?" I asked as I picked a lighter to light the cigarette and pushed out smoke from my mouth.

" I think he might succeed." I didn't say anything.

Succeed.

Of course, he might win because she was a woman.

Five years of her devotion and leadership were nothing compared to a male alpha.

" What do you want me to do?" Sternly asked and I chuckled.

" We do nothing," I said in a cold tone and Starnly looked at me like he wanted to say something but held back and lowered his head.

" She is your mate." He said at last and I pushed out smoke from my mouth.

" I didn't say she is not," I murmured, my gaze turning cold in a split second.

" How is the preparation with the Fang pack going?" I dropped the cigarette in the ashtray and got up on my feet.

I strode to the window with both my hands trapped in my pockets.

I glanced outside the pack through the window.

Blue moon pack was the only pack with lands, population, and strength.

We have everything it takes to be the most powerful pack in the world and hopefully we will.

Blue Moon would soon be the most powerful pack in the world.

A sly smile appeared on my face but disappeared immediately.

" The mating ceremony is a few weeks away just like you wanted," Sternly explained and I ran my hands through my long black hair feeling a bit relieved knowing everything was going according to plan.

The only problem I had was her.

Calista.

She might not be a problem but my wolf wasn't going to forget her nor was I going to.

Her body. The feeling of touching and being buried inside her was fucking different.

It was something I would never experience with any other female.

" Mariam loved the present I gave her." I didn't say anything because I didn't know the kind of present he gave her.

My phone began ringing and speaking of who?

" Tell her I'm busy." I handed the phone to Starnly.

I threw my gaze back to the window.

Last night I went back to my hotel room hoping she would return to the place where she lost her first time but there was no sign of her.

Her scent was faint with only a long strand of her silver hair lying on the bed.

I have instructed the hotel manager to keep the room locked.

I didn't want anyone else's scent in that room except hers.

" Alpha, she says her birthday is in two days and she wishes for you to be by her side."

I looked down at the silver hair in my palm. The only thing she left behind after that day.

My dick twitched at the thought of her and this wasn't me rejecting her.

It was me wanting her by my side by all fucking means!

" She has sent the guest list and asks if you have anyone you want to invite," Sternly spoke after a few seconds but I remained standing. Looking out the window with the strand in my palm and my face cold.

" Alpha Calista is on the guest list."

I turned to look at Sternly and he didn't break eye contact with me.

" She is seeking alliance with the Fang pack and I think that is the reason why she is invited." Sternly lowered his gaze.

My wolf roared in my head and a grin settled on my face.

Finally, I would get to see her again without lifting a finger.
