Chapter 3 Arrogant Billionaire With Dad

Sarah

This Shawn, whom my arrogant father, the heir apparent to the Romano Consortium, usually groveled before, was actually... Shawn Romano.

"You're not coming?" Dad gave me a stern look, gesturing for me to sit down.

I leisurely walked over and sat down.

He hadn't told me this morning that he'd be coming to see me this evening!

The imposing man sat there, expressionless, not even glancing at me, as if I, who had returned after a half-hour wait, was nothing more than nothing to him.

"Since everyone's here, let's get straight to the point," Shawn finally raised his eyes, coldly glancing past me and addressing Dad. "Since my marriage in your family has been consummated, I have no intention of backing down just yet. Let's consider this matter settled."

I suddenly looked up: a marriage agreement? Since when had Shawn gotten engaged to the family?

Dad thought for a moment. Shawn replied that he didn't want to call off the engagement yet, which meant he could call it off at any time!

Dad was eager to establish a marital connection with Shawn Romano and wanted everything to proceed as usual.

Before I could ask him who he was engaged to, the villa doorbell rang.

A servant spoke over the intercom, then approached: "Sir, someone is looking for Miss Sarah."

Liney smiled involuntarily and finally arrived.

"She's busy," Dad said irritably.

"It's urgent; Miss Sarah left something with him," the servant said.

I had a bad feeling: how could someone come here looking for me?

"Dad, it could be my sister... The lady's friend is coming to return something. Don't be angry with her yet." Kate immediately said to the servant, "Let him in."

Dad ignored this and smiled at Shawn, "Mr. Romano is rather uncomfortable coming in person today. I wonder who, in Mr. Romano's opinion, is more suitable, Kate or Sarah."

Before Shawn could express his opinion, an unfamiliar man entered.

He was thin, with a short haircut and several bruises on his face.

"Sarah, you left this behind. Last night. You said it was important, so I came to return it to you," the man with the short hair said, smiling and holding a completely green bracelet in his hand.

I stood up abruptly. This man was none other than the same man with the short hair who had been stalking me relentlessly after I took drugs the night before.

The bracelet my mother left me, how could it have ended up in his hands if I hadn't even taken it out?

"Who are you, and what do you have to do with my sister staying home all night last night?" Kate asked slowly.

The man with the short hair knew exactly what to say: "I met Sarah at the bar yesterday, but she forgot this when she left this morning."

"Sarah!" Dad felt terribly embarrassed. Because of his daughter's affair, a man had come home, and in front of Shawn, no less!

"I never took out the bracelet, I left it at home!" I rushed to snatch it, glaring at Kate, "How dare you steal my things?"

Kate defended herself innocently, "Sarah, what are you talking about? I don't understand. How should I know why your bracelet ended up in his hands?"

Shawn slowly turned around, and when he saw the short-haired boy, a cruel tremor flashed in his eyes.

The sight of this man nearly scared the short-haired boy to death; he stuttered for a long time, unable to utter a word.

This was damn bad. This was the guy who kicked him in the groin yesterday and took Sarah away!

Who would have thought the world could be so damn small!

"Speak!" Dad glanced pointedly at the short-haired man: "If you can't speak, then don't insult my daughter without reason!"

Biting my lower lip, I glanced at Shawn, but he didn't seem inclined to speak.

Shawn stood there, calm and composed, one hand in his pocket, as if enjoying the show, and deliberately glanced at me, his lips curling into a malicious smile. Suddenly, I remembered our morning conversation.

"Anyway, as soon as you leave this room, act as if nothing happened!"

"Just don't regret it."

Shawn must have known what was coming!

"I... that..." Shawn Romano suddenly lost man composure.

"We met at the bar, and then went to the hotel together. This morning, she left something behind when she left, and remembering that she said she was Sarah White, I brought it to her."

Dad was so angry he almost jumped. He never expected me to commit such a shameful act, yet he dared to use the White's name!

Family scandals shouldn't be made public, and yet such a shameful matter had been exposed in front of Shawn. How could he hold his head high?

"Miss White, do you often go to hotels?" Shawn's thin lips parted slightly, his tone unintelligible.

"Mr. Romano, perhaps Sarah isn't that kind of person. Don't misunderstand." Kate explained, "Sarah, could you please explain? How could you do such a thing... Is he your recent boyfriend? Where were you last night?"

I stared at Shawn until I confirmed that he would never confess to the events of last night.

It was true: aside from the agreement we had reached this morning, he certainly wouldn't confess to the events of last night.

Shawn had no intention of marrying me, and my father and Liney would certainly make Kate his bride.

"Sarah, go to your room and think it over behind closed doors!" Mr White said, turning pale.

I held the bracelet, my lips curling coldly. "Explain? It's simple: I was bitten by a dog last night!"

I said these words and left without looking back.
