Chapter 7 The Good, Bad and Ugly.

A beam of light shone across the white curtains as Jaxon sat on the golden-ornamented chair in the guest room. He wasn't allowed in there but for some reason, Delphine wanted to make her father feel Mylo was her honored husband who was given the privilege to go in anywhere.

“Don't get too comfortable. We are staying till he is done with his call and out of the house,” she uttered in a rude tone.

Jaxon kept looking at the door. He was eager to hear the rest of the phone conversation Viktor was having. Viktor didn't seem to have it right and mentioning Dorian Crane on the phone just sparked up something inside of him.

Jaxon knew Dorian Crane had been killed by his men, but he needed to know what was going on. He had to get out there—not as Mylo, but as Hades.

Delphine kept running her mouth at Jaxon, and all he did was nod in response, as though he was listening to every word she said.

His mind was divided and he just wanted to step outside, “Are you even listening to me, Mylo?” Her voice suddenly interrupted his train of thoughts.

“Of course I am. I'm just trying to make sure I don't fall out of the act like you instructed. Your father needs to get that we are for real and stop his fantasies of you getting married to another…”

“That can't even be a thought in his head anymore cause I am married to you and I can see the hurt in his eyes. It makes me smile actually, “ she said, radiating a wicked smirk through her cheeks on the left side of her face.

Jaxon placed his hand on his chin and rested his back but on setting his eye on Delphine's, he adjusted immediately. She was never going to allow him comfortable.

She was always out to look for every chance to make him feel like he is worthless and doesn't deserve a seat amongst the rich.

Delphine walked outside immediately after noticing that her father's voice had become faint, indicating that he had left the main sitting room to continue his call.

"I wonder what that's about. He seems so concerned," she remarked, a hint of worry creeping into her voice.

Jaxon stood quietly. A thought suddenly erupted in his mind, “He must have heard of Dorian's death but why didn't he tell Delphine about it?” He pondered.

That very minute, Jaxon reminisced how the plan went down.

“Are you sure its all perfect? Hades asked, in his dark crowned mask.

“Yes, Boss..everything is as you have instructed….."

"You still haven't answered my question. What about the other matter? Did he confess to everything he did?!"

"Oh yes, sir. In fact, he left a note confessing to the atrocities he had committed. It's right there beside his body at his residence, Boss..”

Hades smiled. "Now that's more like it. Everyone gets a taste of the consequences of their actions, either here while they're alive or wherever death takes them after they're gone!!”

“In no time, I should expect some clashes and noises, uhn?”

“Yes, Boss…looks like our plan is going well..” Hades's man answered with a bow.

“The details are clear and the feds have been notified?” He asked, caressing his chin.

"Yes, Boss... everything is done and dusted. The paper trail should lead directly to the Vale family!”

“Good. I’ll know what to do next. I’m going to make sure the enmity and chaos that erupts between the families isn’t something they can solve with their amassed wealth and corruptions…”

“Every single one of them would pay dearly with their lives!!” Hades said as he moved out.

That same minute, Delphine's voice came aloud, snapping Jaxon out of his deep thoughts.

“"Hey… look here. I don’t know what’s going on in that messed-up head of yours, but if you’re thinking of telling my father anything, get that thought out of your thick skull…”

“...cause I will end you if you try anything funny. You are going to keep doing this whether its comfortable or not. Wait, did I just say that? What else could be more comfortable for a pauper like you? Just do anything funny..” Delphine bellowed.

“Get yourself prepared tonight. I'm leaving the house now and you are coming with me. There is going to be a quick party here in this building and it's about us..”

“Sorry but what is this about?” Jaxon asked. He was already disinterested in the whole conversation but he just had to play along.

After all, he was just someone she was using to taunt her father over his sudden decisions to marry Dorian Crane.

The very man who was about to seal a great deal between her family and the Crane. The same one Hades would do anything to stop from happening.

Jaxon looked at Delphine as she orders him around. In his head, he mumbled, “If only she knew the idiot she is using me as a replacement for, is long gone dead and about to cause a bigger conflict to her entire family!”

“What the heck are you smiling about? Wear the suit and let's go or are you planning to wear your barman uniform to follow me, uhn?” She roared at me.

Jaxon tagged along, all dressed up in a brown suit and black pants , looking sharp and clean. Delphine kept staring at him in the car as she gave him this awkward look.

A look void of admiration. A look having hatred and disgust as its trademark and for a minute, Jaxon kept lifting up his suit to know if an usual odor was coming from him.

"Listen up, Mylo… where we’re going, huh? The press is going to be all over us. I don’t need you to open your dirty, stinking mouth. We’re going there to attend an event, and on the way, we’re getting our outfits for tonight’s party.”

“Don’t speak unless I tell you to, and act like my husband," she said in a commanding tone.

They got out of the Rolls Royce and the first thing they met were flashes of light on them emanating from camera lens from all around.

Jaxon placed his hands around her waist and they walked into the building carefully.

Delphine put up her fake smile as usual and rested her body on Jaxon, just to fulfill the role play.

She would give him a short smile and frown after like she didn't even want to be there with him in the first place.

Suddenly a message beeped on

her phone and Jaxon immediately noticed the shift in her expression.

A shock. She froze.
