Chapter 2 Betrayal

I watched them, unable to say anything for the longest of time.

The world around me felt as though it was collapsing, my mouth felt dry, the more I forced myself to swallow, the more I felt like I was going to die.

I pushed the door open, looking at the two of them who looked startled, unable to think straight as their brains tried to put the pieces together that I was actually standing in front of them.

“Adrelle!! It’s not what it looks-“ I looked at my best friend that struggled to put on a bit of clothes, scrambling. “we were practicing how to…”

She mumbled a few words that I did not bother listening to.

I looked at my mate.

The one who had said we should keep our bond a secret because he was waiting for the perfect moment and I had foolishly agreed. The one who said he was going to give him the world if only was patient.

“reject me” I whispered, my gaze on the bastard who had barely moved.

He blinked finally. “baby, let’s not make any rash decision okay? It was a mistake and…” Maelis was nodding along side him, pleading with her eyes as she moved back, using him as a human shield

“fucking reject me!!!!” I screamed, my voice shaking the place as I looked at him, taking a step into the room. “or should I do it?” I whispered the last part, unable to blink the tears away.

I hated that he got to see the tears flowing in front of me.

“Adrelle please, forgive me, for the sake of our sisterhood” the words coming out of her mouth made me snap my head to her, it was a miracle my neck did not snap in the process.

“sisterhood?” I gave a humorless laugh, unable to recognize my own voice as I laughed “It did not feel like it when had your tongue down his throat”

“look, I am sorry” he said, taking a step closer to me and then taking a step back. “okay? It would not happen again. I just…” he tugged at his hair, something he did when he was getting annoyed that he was not getting his way.

“you are right, it would not. I, Adrelle whitewolf, reject you Alpha…” he jumped on me before I could continue, pinning me down so that I could not move. “get the hell away from me!” I yelled, trying to get out from under me but he did not budge.

The crazed look in his eyes terrified me, making me want to run to the edge of the mountains while I screamed bloody murder.

“you can’t reject me, you are mine!!”

“get your fucking self off of me you piece of shit”

“and then what?” he said, still sitting on top of me as he held me down. “you need me, you know. You are nothing but a female, and a fucking hybrid at that. You think anyone would want you? Want an abomination? I can make you something. I can merge your pack with mine through the mate bond and..” I freed one of my hands from his grip, punching him as hard as I could which made him move, giving me the right opening to stand up.

“I Adrelle whitewolf, reject you Alpha Aldrich cane of the shadowmoon pack” I was panting as soon as the words flew out of my mouth, the effect of rejection weighing down on me.

“you fucking bitch” he said, looking at me with something I could not quite name but I could see it. The effect of the bond loosening almost instantly weighing him down too. But not completely.

“and as for you..” I said, looking at my best friend who I thought was my ride or die, the second sister I thought I needed. “get the fuck out of this pack before sun down or I promise you, you are not going to..” I felt a piercing pain at the side of my neck, with my mouth falling wide open with no screams coming out.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!!” Maelis screamed, looking from me to him. She looked as though she could not believe what was happening.

‘guess she did not think he would go this far then’ I thought, trying to force my eyes open.

He said something to her, looking at her with so much spite. I could barely get the words before he looked back at me

“you think you can leave me? I get to decide!! You are mine and there is nothing you can do that is fucking going to stop that!!” he screamed bringing me closer to him as he… sniffed me. I was repulsed, wanting to throw up but my body was not responding

Tried to push him away, to tear him limb from limb, but  I could not. It felt as though a part of my body had been paralyzed, and my legs giving away.

“what have you done to me” I said, the words feeling heavy to even speak.

I turned to him, but I could barely see anything, the whole world going blank the more I tried to stay awake…
