Chapter 3
Looking at Ella's back as she went upstairs.
Joshua felt angry.
Ella used to like him so much, always clinging to him in bed, saying she loved him.
How come now she's so determined to get divorced.
Joshua still couldn't figure out how Ella suddenly had such resolve.
Joshua pulled out his phone and dialed Brian's number.
He asked in a cold voice, "Have you found out what I asked you to investigate?"
He still felt the problem wasn't with him.
So he had to find the reason from Ella's side.
Brian stammered and hesitated.
After a long pause, he finally said, "Mr. Thomas, I'm on my way to Tranquil Villa. How about I tell you in person?"
Joshua had no patience. "Then hurry up."
He hung up the phone, no longer in the mood to eat, and had Karen clear the table.
When he went upstairs, sure enough, he saw Ella packing her luggage.
Joshua stood nearby, feeling uncomfortable.
"Ella, where can you go after leaving me? Can you stop being so childish? Scarlett and I have nothing going on."
Ella didn't look at him and continued packing her things.
"Nothing going on, just kissing and hugging in front of all those people."
Ella held back the sourness in her chest, still feeling guilty.
The reason for divorce wasn't entirely because of Scarlett.
She was scared.
Scared that Joshua would discover those two children she had outside.
If it weren't for Scarlett's appearance, she would still be greedily living in a beautiful dream.
Ella naively thought that as long as she didn't say anything, Joshua wouldn't find out.
But children grow up.
Secrets can't be kept.
She didn't dare drag it out any longer.
Joshua fell silent.
At the birthday party, Scarlett had accidentally fallen into his arms.
At the time, he just naturally supported Scarlett, not expecting her to suddenly kiss him.
Joshua knew it was his fault.
He wouldn't make excuses.
But Ella's actions still made him feel she was making a big deal out of nothing.
Joshua left her with these words, "If you really want a divorce, go explain it to Grandpa yourself."
He turned and left, not wanting to force her.
Just then, Brian arrived.
Joshua called him to the study.
"Tell me, what kind of work is Ella doing outside, and what kind of people is she in contact with?"
A woman with nothing to her name could be so determined to divorce him.
She must have found someone to rely on.
He wanted to see what kind of support in all of Emerald City could be better than him, Joshua.
Brian didn't know how to say it.
Because what he had investigated was too absurd.
It completely exceeded his understanding.
Brian didn't dare say a word and just honestly handed over the documents.
Joshua looked through them.
They were all photos of Ella with two children.
The two children, being twins and premature, looked only about two years old.
They were small, adorable like little dolls.
But Joshua still didn't notice anything unusual and asked Brian,
"She's working as a nanny outside, taking care of kids?"
That must be it.
How ridiculous.
The wife of the president of the Thomas Group, instead of living a wealthy life being served by others, ran out to be someone's nanny.
If this got out, he would lose all face.
Brian shook his head and had to tell the truth.
"Mrs. Thomas isn't working as a nanny for others. These two children were born by Mrs. Thomas."
Afraid Joshua would get angry, he quickly lowered his head, not daring to breathe.
Joshua hadn't reacted yet and was still looking through those photos.
The next second, he suddenly looked up at Brian.
"What did you say?"
Joshua thought he must have heard wrong!
He must have heard wrong.
How old was Ella, how could she possibly...
Brian kept his head down and said carefully,
"Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Thomas gave birth to twins abroad. She's been hiding it from you and keeping these two children in a neighborhood called Galaxy Bay Community."
This time Joshua heard clearly.
His mind instantly went blank.
He really couldn't process the information Brian was giving him.
He forced himself to calm down, and after a long while, looked at Brian and asked again uncertainly,
"You're saying these two children were born by Ella?"
Brian nodded affirmatively, "Yes."
"What kind of joke are you playing on me? Ella is my wife. Would I not know if she had given birth to children?"
Joshua instantly flew into a rage, throwing all the photos in his hand.
But he also knew very well that Brian wouldn't dare lie to him about something this big.
He asked Brian, "How are you so sure these two children were born by her?"
Brian said, "The nanny taking care of the children said so. Although I can't find records of Mrs. Thomas giving birth abroad, we can do a DNA test between the children and Mrs. Thomas."
This was the only way to verify it.
Otherwise, he was also afraid the nanny was lying.
Or that Ella was lying to the nanny. What if Ella had just adopted them?
Only with a test would the truth come out.
Joshua suppressed the emotion about to explode in his chest, stood up, placed both hands on the desk, and took deep breaths to calm himself.
It absolutely couldn't be as Brian said.
Ella was only 24 years old.
When she went abroad, she was in an unfamiliar place. How could she have given birth to twins in just three years?
Besides, before Ella left, she was engaged to him.
At that time, Ella liked him too.
She couldn't have fallen in love with someone so quickly and had children with someone else.
Even if something unexpected happened and she gave birth to children.
Then when he took Ella to get their marriage certificate, why didn't she say anything?
Joshua still couldn't accept this fact.
"Besides testing, what other evidence do you have to prove these are her children? Who is the children's father?"
Brian shook his head. "I haven't found out who the children's father is, but they live in Galaxy Bay Community, and Mrs. Thomas goes there every day."
"Mr. Thomas, only by doing the test can I confirm whether the two children were born by Mrs. Thomas."
Joshua waved his hand in denial without thinking,
"It's absolutely impossible that Ella gave birth to them. Maybe she just adopted them."
If not that, then they were born by her friend, and her friend had some accident and entrusted the children to Ella.
Anyway, the Ella he knew was timid as a mouse.
How could she have gotten pregnant before marriage and hidden it from him?
Joshua told Brian, "You can go now. Don't mention this to anyone."
Brian hesitated but couldn't help reminding him,
"Mr. Thomas, just do a DNA test. If they're not Mrs. Thomas's children with someone else, you can let go of your suspicions about her."
Joshua was trying hard to calm the emotions in his chest.
Thinking about how Ella was determined to get divorced.
Perhaps only by doing the test could he feel at ease.
Joshua agreed to Brian's request. "Go ahead and do it!"
Brian nodded. "But I need to collect samples. Mr. Thomas, can you give me some of Mrs. Thomas's hair with follicles, or her toothbrush?"
As for the children's side, he had his own ways to get samples.
