Chapter 4
Joshua told Brian to wait while he went to get Ella's toothbrush.
When he reached the bathroom, he happened to see Ella packing her things, putting even her toothbrush and comb into a bag.
Joshua stood nearby, struggling to suppress his rage and impulse, asking her coldly, "You're leaving this late?"
Ella didn't even look at him. "I'm going to stay at a hotel."
"You need all these things for a hotel?"
"I just like using my own stuff."
Ella walked past him and headed to the closet.
Her attitude, combined with what Brian had just said, made Joshua feel like his heart was being stabbed with a sharp weapon.
The feeling was both bitter and suffocating.
Joshua followed her to the closet.
Seeing Ella making her final preparations, really about to leave.
He stepped forward and grabbed Ella's hand, pulling her against the closet door. His tall frame easily engulfed her small body.
Joshua's eyes coldly bore into her, looking down from above.
"Ella, do you have a lover outside?"
Ella looked really small next to Joshua.
In fact, she was 5.51 feet tall.
But standing in front of Joshua, who was 6.2 feet tall, it was like facing a mountain. His overwhelming presence made it hard for her to breathe.
"What are you talking about?"
Ella felt guilty and didn't dare meet his eyes. She said coquettishly, "You're the one who's been unfaithful in this marriage, hugging and kissing other women while we're still married."
Joshua grabbed Ella's chin, forcing her to look up at him.
"I'm asking you one more time, do you have a lover outside?"
If Ella told him the truth, he might still be lenient with her.
But if she didn't tell the truth or deliberately hid it, he would definitely not let her off easy.
At this moment, Ella's nervous mind had only one thought - divorce Joshua.
Once they were divorced, even if Joshua found out she had two kids outside, so what? He'd have no right to control her anymore.
She held her breath and insisted, "I don't. Joshua, let me go."
Ella struggled, wanting to quickly escape from Joshua.
Joshua controlled his temper, bent down and forcefully kissed her lips.
As Ella resisted with all her might, he took the opportunity to pull out several strands of her hair.
Ella felt the discomfort and pain, and with effort pushed him away, then slapped him hard across the face.
"Joshua, you bastard."
Ella hated Joshua's dominance and disrespect.
Since he had the heart to throw a birthday party for Scarlett and kiss her in front of so many people.
Why was he touching her now?
Ella didn't deny that she wasn't exactly clean either.
But at least in this marriage, she had truly loved Joshua.
And hadn't thought about any other man.
What about Joshua?
Cheating during marriage - absolutely terrible.
She didn't want to continue with him anymore.
Joshua endured the slap, looking at Ella with deep, resentful eyes.
He still didn't question her about the children, and left the room holding back his anger.
Handing the hair to Brian, Joshua instructed, "Don't let anyone know about this."
Brian nodded and quickly left with the sample.
When Ella finished packing and came downstairs with her luggage, she saw Joshua sitting on the living room sofa, looking cold and grim.
She walked toward him and asked coldly, "Did you sign the divorce papers? If you don't go to court with me tomorrow, I'll never come back to this house again."
She had made up her mind anyway.
During this time, she must cut ties with Joshua completely.
Joshua looked at Ella coldly.
Thinking that her leaving now might really be because of those two kids outside.
But he kept convincing himself that it couldn't be what Brian said.
So before things were clear, he absolutely couldn't act rashly.
And couldn't do anything to Ella.
Otherwise, with her small frame, whatever he did to her, if he laid a hand on her, she'd probably lose her life.
Joshua sat upright, expressionless as he looked at Ella.
"You want to divorce me that badly?"
Ella's eyes flickered, using Scarlett as a shield.
"Since you were so eager to celebrate Scarlett's birthday and kissed her in front of so many people, you obviously can't let her go."
"I'll help you both out, and please let me go too."
She clearly remembered that four years ago, Joshua had broken off their engagement because of Scarlett.
If it weren't for Aiden's intervention, Joshua would have married Scarlett.
She should know her place. It was time to give up her position as Joshua's wife and return it to Scarlett.
Joshua was still trying hard to control his temper.
And forcing himself not to overthink.
Before the DNA test results came out, he had no right to say anything.
Pressing his thin lips together, Joshua sat there. Although he looked cold and imposing all over.
His tone was still gentle when he spoke.
"If you want to move out, I won't stop you. As for the divorce, you go talk to Grandpa first. If Grandpa agrees, I won't delay you."
Ella was stunned.
She didn't expect Joshua to be willing.
It seemed that if it weren't for Aiden, he'd probably divorce even faster than her!
Since he had agreed, what else did she have to worry about?
Ella nodded in agreement. "Okay, I'll go talk to Grandpa tomorrow."
For some reason, even though she was the one who proposed the divorce and insisted on moving out.
Now that Joshua had agreed, she actually felt a pang of jealousy.
Without hesitation, Ella took her luggage and left without looking back.
Karen drove her.
Afterward, she returned to Joshua's side, worried, "Why are you and Mrs. Thomas talking about divorce? And this late at night, where can Mrs. Thomas go?"
Joshua felt just as bad.
If he didn't know Ella had another home outside, how could he let her leave so late at night?
He pulled out his phone to check Ella's location.
He wanted to see if Ella was really going back to that other home of hers.
Karen was still talking beside him. "Mr. Thomas, whatever conflict you have with Mrs. Thomas, you can't let Mrs. Thomas go out this late at night. What if something happens..."
Joshua shot Karen a cold look.
This made Karen afraid to say more, and she quickly left with her head down.
When he saw Ella's car indeed heading toward Galaxy Bay Community, Joshua was so angry he almost smashed his phone.
Damn it.
She was really going to be with those two kids.
She had actually been hiding it from him, having a home outside and raising two children.
Joshua felt like a huge stone was blocking his chest, oppressive and uncomfortable.
That night, he still couldn't sleep.
Early the next morning, Joshua personally went to Galaxy Bay Community.
He found the door of unit 2526, which was rented under Ella's name.
He hid like a stalker behind the door of the stairwell, waiting for the door of unit 2526 to open.
At eight in the morning, that door finally opened.
Joshua saw with his own eyes Ella coming out.
With two children beside her.
The kids held her hands, reluctantly acting cute.
"Mommy, you go to work every day, it's so hard."
"Mommy, come home early."
"Mommy, we love you."
