Chapter 2 2

Lysandra~~

The last glance I gave him stirred something in me. My lycan grunted and I narrowed my gaze, eyes glued to the tattoo at the back of his neck.

‘Isn't that my Dad's company logo?’ I rolled my eyes. ‘But there's a slight difference.’

The door was slammed and I flinched, gripping the chest of my dress.

My eyes landed on the papers scattered on the floor, and then I began picking them up. I sat back on the sofa, my legs crossed while I went through the written words one after the other.

“All these are the rules I'd follow? Why? Am I a slave?” I kept soliloquising, tears burned at the corner of my eyes. “What does he even think of me? That he does with me whatever he wants because he's the lycan king? I am an alpha lycan too and if only my parents didn't pass on, I would have nothing to do with him.”

I angrily slammed my palm on the paper and relaxed my back on the sofa.

Who would believe that I turned out to be a bride to some strange biker King when I was supposed to be married to Jonathan?

It would have made sense if he hadn't commanded that I join hands with him and exact revenge on my uncle and his family for treating me like trash after my parents died, and then to Jonathan who aimed to shield himself with me when he showed.

Does it mean that he knew Jon would act that way? We didn't date, just three weeks after being introduced to each other and we were getting married. I was also disappointed when he was using me as an amulet.

“But that doesn't mean being with this jerk of a king makes sense. He could probably be an enemy and would do worse with all these things written down here.” I muttered and broke into sobs again.

Despite how much I sobbed, nothing changed. I flipped the documents to the end only to see a stamp at the end of it.

“Is this not the same symbol on his neck as a tattoo? What business does he have with my father's business logo? And now he's talking about my uncle too…what if he's….

My eyes popped and I flung the papers to the sofa and stood up. I quickly rushed to the drawer where he got them and luckily, it was unlocked.

When I opened it, I couldn't even believe my eyes.

“What are my photos doing here? How did he come to know? When did I become his target?" I kept shuffling through them, and they were all clearly mine. My chest pounded so loud I thought it would burst in no time.

Just when I thought I'd seen it all, I finally saw my Dad's photo, neat and new.

“Goddess please, this should be a dream. I can't possibly be trapped here. Who the hell is he to hold me here?” My tears were so hot as they rolled down my cheeks. I searched further and saw my Dad's company seal. “This is too much. What business does he have with my family?”

I hadn't seen what the lycan king of my clan looked like, only for it to be this devil. He had been the one ruling us.

That's so shameful. No wonder no one talks shit about him, because he was also a biker.

How dangerous was he? What was he going to do with me?

The logo he had embedded as a tattoo on the back of his neck had a slight difference because an arm was drawn slightly in the tattoo…and I guessed that meant a lot.

I stood up, glanced at the documents which I hadn't signed, and began pulling out my heels.

“We have to leave, Livia. We can't do this right?” I said to my lycan and she whimpered. We couldn't stand it, it was damn scary and I was the only survivor to still hold my father's name.

The plan was to escape, but he suddenly showed up, and three more housekeepers were behind him.

My heart rose and fell beyond my control. I didn't even recall wiping my tears.

“Start dressing her up,” he said, eyes fixated on me.

The ladies bowed slightly and walked towards me.

“Don't worry. You'll sign it when we are back.” he scoffed and walked towards the wardrobe.

My lips trembled. I hoped he didn't find out that I just went there.

One of the ladies held my hand and I turned to her. She signaled me to follow them and so did I.

My world was crumbling before me. If he is the one behind the disappearance of my dad's company, then I'm not supposed to be here.

Although I didn't know much about my dad's company before his demise, I had gotten an anonymous letter warning me to steer clear of anything that had to do with my father's wealth and assets. My bank account was also frozen, and I had to crawl to my uncle for survival.

My father was the second in command to the late Lycan king that I knew. That king died a week before my parents, only for this jerk to take over the throne. Who the heck crowned a clown like him?

“Ma’am, you have to feel at ease, okay.”

I met the gaze of the housekeeper and managed to nod.

They stripped me of my white gown and washed my body thoroughly. They dressed me up, and by the time they were done, I barely recognised myself.

I had always dressed up myself, even on my wedding day. Staring at my reflection through the mirror, I almost forgot the mess I was in.

When I stepped out into his bedroom, the housekeepers left gradually and it was just the two of us.

He kept staring at me, and it made me freeze.

“Jonathan doesn't really fit to be your groom. What husband uses their wife as a shield?” he began walking closer, still dressed in his leather jacket and boots slamming on the tiled floor. “Until our contract ends, you will be seen and known as Luna Lysandra Ramsey.”

I squinted. He already knew my name all along?

“King Ramsey Breeze. But you can just call me ‘Ramsey’ until the contract ends.” he added and began closing the distance between us. “What about you?”

Why was he acting so cool? He'd been cold all through and was suddenly being nice.

I took a deep swallow and said, “Lysandra Jon.”

But come to think of it, the late king's name was ‘Breeze’. Is he in any way related to him? There's no resemblance between them at all.

“I am taking you to my family gathering, to introduce you as my wife.” he scoffed and stretched out his palm.

I stared at it for some time before I placed mine on it. And just that way, he led me out of the room.

We walked side by side out of the building.

I didn't expect him to have a car since he was a biker and had ridden me here with his motorcycle, but there were about five cars lined up, and we entered the one in the middle together…then we zoomed off.

Every second, I glanced at him. And each time I glanced at him, I recalled one of the rules he had written down there in the contract.

What I didn't want to taste was having him claim me. I hadn't even had my first kiss and I wouldn't want to do that with a devil like him.

He was so mysterious and I didn't need him to explain anything to me. Thanks goddess, I hadn't signed the contract, so I still had time to escape from him to a faraway place where he wouldn't be able to find me again.

After a long drive, the car came to a stop and we alighted. He led me into the mansion again, and it was a bit crowded, but he shielded me until he found a seat where we made ourselves comfortable.

I was looking around, glancing at the several faces when my eyes landed on someone who looked so familiar to me.

As if he knew I'd been staring, he raised his face and our eyes locked. My heart sank into my belly that moment. I forgot to breathe.

“Jonathan?!” I whispered and the jerk pulled a dirty smile before turning away from me.

I couldn't help but turn to Ramsey, my breath came desperately. “What is Jonathan doing here?”

He tilted his head high, "He's my brother…”

“What?!” I jolted to my feet. “Brother?” My eyes grew large in shock.
