Chapter 2

At the leader’s command, a dozen or so burly men rushed forward. Each of them had a fierce look in their eyes as they reached out to grab Ada Russell. They were tall and muscular, clearly not easy opponents. In contrast, Ada Russell was petite, wearing simple work pants. She seemed frail, as if she might fall over with just a gentle push.

The cheetah stood aside, with slightly sweaty palms. He instinctively wanted to step forward, but Ada Russell’s gaze stopped him. He knew that Ada Russell was very stubborn. If she didn’t want him to get involved, then rushing forward would only make her angry.

Just as the big men were about to touch Ada Russell, she suddenly moved. With the agility of a ghost, she dodged the first man’s hand. At the same time, she raised her foot and kicked him precisely in the knee. With a crisp sound, the man cried out in pain and collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony.

The remaining people changed their expressions upon seeing this, but they still didn’t back down. They rushed at Ada Russell one after another. Ada Russell remained calm and graceful in her movements. With each precise and fierce strike, she either kicked her opponents’ knees or hit their vital points. There were no unnecessary movements, but every strike was deadly.

Cries of pain echoed everywhere. In just a few minutes, over a dozen men lay sprawled on the ground, each with bruised faces and noses, wailing in pain, too weak even to get up. Meanwhile, Ada Russell remained standing there, her clothes intact, not a single hair out of place. Her breathing was even, as if the violent fight that had taken place had nothing to do with her.

The man at the head was kicked in the ribs. He lay on the ground, his face pale with pain. Yet he still refused to back down, staring viciously at Ada Russell. “You brat! If you have the guts, say your name! I’ll never let you go!”

Ida Russell slowly walked up to him, looking down at him from above. A cold smirk appeared on her lips as she said, word by word, “This girl remains the same as always—Ida Russell.”

After saying that, her gaze turned cold, and her tone was filled with undisguised disgust: “A bunch of good-for-nothings. There’s no point keeping them around.”

The man wanted to say something else, but the cheetah stepped forward quickly. It bowed slightly to Ada Russell, its tone filled with apology. “Ada, I’m sorry. My subordinates failed to handle the situation properly, and these people have disturbed you.”

Ida Russell waved her hand dismissively, her tone flat: “It’s none of your business. They brought disaster upon themselves by barging in like that.”

The man lying on the ground, who was the leader, heard the word “cheetah”. Then, upon seeing Ada Russell’s imposing aura, his face turned pale instantly. Trembling, he looked at the cheetah and stammered, “Bos… boss, who is this woman? Why do you show her such respect?”

The cheetah glared at him coldly, her tone full of reprimand: “Idiot, how dare you ask? This is my boss. From now on, you must all address her as ‘Miss Ada’. Whether you live or die today depends entirely on what Miss Ada says. Behave yourselves.”

These words were like a thunderbolt to those men. They were stunned on the spot, their faces turning pale, too shocked even to cry out in pain. Who was the Cheetah? He was a legendary figure in S City’s underworld—a man with ruthless tactics and immense power. What kind of person could deserve to be called “boss” by the Cheetah?

Once they realized what had happened, the several burly men knelt before Ada Russell, rolling around on the ground in submission. They kept kowtowing, their voices filled with fear and pleading: “Miss, we were too foolish to recognize your greatness. Please forgive our mistakes and spare our lives! We’re willing to serve you loyally as cattle or horses to repay your mercy. Please, spare our lives…”

Cries of agony and pleas mingled together, causing Ada Russell to frown, a hint of irritation flashing in her eyes. Her purpose here wasn’t to discipline these lackeys, but to find the girl who had been wrongly tied up. These people were merely wasting her time.

“Shut up,” she said coldly. Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried a powerful presence that instantly silenced everyone else.

The several burly men were so frightened that they trembled all over. They quickly shut their mouths and didn’t dare even breathe loudly. Their eyes were filled with fear, as they didn’t want to accidentally anger this young master.

Ida Russell glanced at them coldly. “The ignorant are innocent. For now, I’ll spare your lives. But remember: not a single word about my identity must be revealed. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you vanish from this world, not even a trace of you will remain.”

There wasn’t the slightest hint of humor in her eyes. They were cold and piercing. The several burly men quickly nodded their heads frantically, muttering, “Yes, yes, we definitely won’t dare reveal it. We definitely won’t!”

Ida Russell’s lips curled slightly in a smile that vanished just as quickly, almost like an illusion: “I don’t want your lives, nor do I want you to work like slaves. All I ask is for you to do one thing.”

“Please speak, miss! Whatever you command, we’re willing to go through fire and water to fulfill it!” The man at the head hurriedly said, his tone full of flattery, afraid of missing this chance to save his life.

Ida Russell didn’t waste time in small talk. She got straight to the point, her gaze becoming serious. “Who’s in charge of the Regent Square area? Recently, has anyone kidnapped a girl near the overpass in an attempt to extort money from her?”

The man at the head paused for a moment, then quickly replied, “Miss, this entire area is under my control. My name is A Cheng. Recently, I heard from my subordinates that a group of people had kidnapped a girl. Apparently, the girl’s father is very wealthy, so they wanted to make a fortune off this situation. I thought this kind of thing was common in our line of work, so I didn’t ask any further or intervene…”

Before he could finish speaking, he saw Ada Russell’s expression darken instantly. The coldness in her eyes was almost freezing. Ah Cheng felt panicked, breaking out in a cold sweat. He quickly turned to the cheetah and asked in a low voice, “Boss, miss… What’s wrong with her? Did I say something wrong?”

The cheetah’s expression was also very serious. He lowered his voice, his tone filled with helplessness: “You’ve caused trouble. What Ada hates most is kidnapping, especially when innocent people are involved. This time, she’s truly angry.”

Upon hearing this, A Cheng was so frightened that his legs went weak. He collapsed to the ground, cold sweat drenching his back. He never expected that, due to his own carelessness, he had accidentally angered this “little tyrant”.

Ida Russell took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. She stared at A Cheng with a cold voice, “Do you know where those kidnappers are?”

Acheng nodded hurriedly, his voice trembling: “I… I know. I heard from my subordinates that they’re hiding in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. It’s a hidden place that few people ever go to.”

“Take me there now,” Ada Russell said in a tone that left no room for refusal. “If anything happens to that girl, you won’t even be able to keep your heads on your shoulders.”

“Yes, yes! I’ll take you there right away!” A Cheng didn’t dare delay in the slightest. He quickly got up from the ground, not even bothering to brush off the dust from his clothes. He strode forward to lead the way.

The cheetah followed behind Ada Russell and whispered, “Ada, that abandoned warehouse is too cold and dangerous. Wait in the car. Ah Cheng and I will go rescue them and bring them to you.”

Ida Russell shook her head, her gaze firm. “No, I need to go in person.” She had experienced the terror of being kidnapped, so she could fully understand the helplessness of that girl right now. She didn’t want that girl to wait another single second.

The cheetah wanted to persuade her further, but when he saw Ada Russell’s resolute gaze, he swallowed his words. He knew that once Ada Russell made up her mind, she wouldn’t change it easily.

After about ten minutes, the car came to a stop in front of an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. The warehouse was in terrible condition. Its black doors were covered in rust. A chilling cold air seeped out from the cracks in the doors, making people shiver with fear.

Ida Russell pushed open the door and walked in. She kicked the door with her foot. With a loud “bang”, the door flew open. It was completely dark inside. faintly, they could hear men laughing and a girl crying.

The people in the warehouse became silent upon hearing the noise. Several of the guards looked at A Cheng and the cheetah with puzzled expressions. Just as one of them turned to warn the others inside, Ada Russell suddenly pulled out the pistol at her waist and threw it. It hit the man’s knee with precision.

“Ah—” The man let out a scream of pain. He lost his balance and fell to his knees, his face contorted in agony.

Ida Russell glanced coldly at the remaining people, her voice icy: “Those who want to live must put down their guns immediately. Do not move around.”

The man kneeling on the ground was in so much pain that he lost his mind. He picked up the pistol on the ground and threw it at Ada Russell, his eyes filled with hatred. He thought that Ada Russell was just a spoiled brat with no real skills at all.

But he didn’t expect that Ada Russell was far more skilled than he had imagined. With a gentle leap, she soared into the air, kicked forcefully with her toe, and the pistol flew back, hitting the man right in the neck.

Another scream echoed through the air. The man clutched his neck, blood flowing between his fingers. His face turned pale in an instant. The moment Ada Russell landed, the pistol returned firmly into her hands. Her movements were smooth and effortless.

Achong was stunned by what he saw. He never expected that this seemingly fragile young woman actually had such incredible skills. As for the cheetah, as it watched Eda Russell’s movements, there was a trace of confusion in its mind—it felt that Eda Russell’s moves were somewhat familiar, but it couldn’t recall where it had seen them before.

Ida Russell noticed the cheetah’s gaze and said calmly, “Uncle, don’t worry. I didn’t go too far. I just made a cut on his neck. I applied anti-inflammatory and healing ointment to the wound. As long as it doesn’t come into contact with water for two hours, the wound will scab over on its own. There’s no risk to his life.”

After saying that, she turned to the remaining guards, her tone still icy: “Lead the way, inside. Remember, don’t try any tricks on me. Your little schemes mean nothing to me. I don’t have that much patience. If you waste any more time, you’ll bear the consequences.”

The rest of them were already terrified by Ada Russell’s tactics. How could they dare to resist? One by one, they nodded obediently, lowered their heads, and stepped forward to lead the way, not daring to even breathe loudly.

Acheng quietly approached the cheetah, lowering his voice. His tone was filled with admiration. “Boss, I’m truly impressed by this young lady. She’s so talented for her age. In just a few minutes, she managed to win over all of us. You have great taste—you certainly didn’t choose the wrong person.”

The cheetah glared at him coldly, its tone filled with warning: “Keep your mouth shut. You don’t have any right to speak here. Lead the way properly, and don’t make any more mistakes. Otherwise, not only will they kill you, but you won’t survive either.”

Acheng quickly shut his mouth, not daring to speak anymore. He obediently followed behind. The warehouse was completely dark, with only a dim light bulb in the corner, casting shadows on several lecherous faces. Ada Russell followed the sound and saw several tall men surrounding a girl who was curled up in the corner, their faces filled with sinister smiles.
