Introduction
Chapter 1
I'm sitting on the cold bench outside the emergency room. Many people were crossing by in the hallway but I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my face.
I was on my way home from my internship when Auntie Marila called, my Mother had a heart attack, so they rushed her to the emergency room. The doctor hadn't examined her thoroughly yet.
She's now stable but still unconscious.
"Who's the patient's family of Diana Alvarez?" The nurse's voice made me alert.
I immediately went to her, "I-it's me! H-how's my mom?" My voice trembled as I faced the nurse.
"I'll be honest with you, hija. Your mother's condition is serious. She needs immediate surgery," she said.
"It will require a large sum of money… We will immediately perform the surgery if you already have the exact amount for her operation," she said directly.
My throat went dry.
"H-how much d-do I n-needed to pay for that?"
"Seven hundred thousand."
I fell down on the floor.
Where would I get that large amount of money?
I stopped outside the gate of a large and luxurious mansion.
"Who are you? What do you need?" I slightly flinched back as the security, guarding the gate aggressively approached me.
"The Fuegos don't have any expected visitors today, leave." He said gruffly, but I couldn't be swayed. This was the only way left to get my mom operated.
"Uhm… I-is Mr. F-Fuego here?" Even though there was a hint of fear in my voice, I mustered the courage to face the guard.
"No. Leave now, Miss."
"I just need to talk to him—" But before I could even finish my words, the gate suddenly opened.
"What's happening here?"
Elle. My half-sister stepped in, wearing a fancy lacey dress.
When she saw me, she immediately came out of the gate.
"You! What are you doing here?!" she hissed, pointing at me. My anxiety increased.
My heart was pounding so hard. I looked wearily at my sister.
"How dare you to even come here!?" she yelled. I stepped back as she walked towards me.
"I-I just need to talk to D-Daddy…"
"Daddy? Huh! Guard! Why haven't you gotten rid of this pest yet?!"
"Y-yes, Miss. I'm sorry." The guard immediately went to me.
"Miss, leave now!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the gate. I tried to struggle free from his grip.
My tears started to silently form at the sides of my eyes as I tried not to sob or cry.
"S-sister, please! I need to talk to our Dad!" I pleaded desperately.
But before she could speak, someone else spoke up.
"What's going on here?" A calm yet authoritative voice echoed. A woman walked in from the mansion.
I felt like I was about to collapse from nervousness.
She's my father's legal wife.
"Mom!" Elle looked at her mother.
She ignored my sister and walked past her towards me. The guard still had a hold of me, I wanted to break free, but it felt like I couldn't move my body anymore.
She looked very intimidating and I'm so nervous that I'm almost numb.I'm sitting on the cold bench outside the emergency room. Many people were crossing by in the hallway but I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my face.

She coldly glanced at the guard holding me, "Let her go," she said firmly. The guard quickly released me.
"Mom! Get rid of her!"
"Why are you here?" she asked again, ignoring her daughter.
"I-I need to t-talk to our D-Dad…" Even though my voice was full of fear, I still mustered what I had to say.
Her face was expressionless, as she's just staring at me coldly.
"Why? What do you need from my husband?" she asked.
"My mother is in the hospital. I-I have no one e-else to t-turn to…" I said, my voice trembling.
My mother's parents are in Europe. I also have no connection with them because they disowned their daughter when Mom left them for my Dad.
"Oh? Is that her karma?" she scoffed.
"P-please, my father—"
I hadn't finished what I was saying when a cold hand fall on my cheek.
I almost went deaf from the slap Mrs. Fuego gave me. Holding my cheek, I couldn't react.
"How dare you show your face to us?" she fired.
I shook my head as I realized the truth. My tears gradually flowed.
My mother was just my Daddy's mistress. I was so insensitive to have shown myself to them. Because of me, their family was ruined.
But why? I didn't want this to happen. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know where to get the money needed for Mom's operation.
Mrs. Fuego looked at me with disgust before turning her gaze to her daughter.
"Your friends are coming over. Fix yourself, honey," she said in her sweetest voice before turning her gaze back to me.
"Tsk!" Elle rolled her eyes at me before going back into the house.
"Get out of here and never show your face to us again!" Mrs. Fuego said and turned her back on me.
"Leave, Miss." The guard approached me, seeming to pity me, so he helped me up.
"I can manage." I stood up on my own and ran away from that place. I shouldn't have come here in the first place.
"What did you get from your father? Nothing, right? If I were you, I'd accept the job I'm offering you." Auntie Marila stood up from the sofa.
"Rest for now. If you change your mind, you know where to find me," she said before leaving me alone in our house.
This house is my dad's property. I had to let go of our only housemaid because we needed the nurse who's with my Mom at the hospital more here at home, Daddy pays their salaries. Dad also pays all our bills, even my school expenses, but last month, he stopped providing and giving me money. I can't talk to him anymore. He used to visit me every week to check on me, but he's been absent for weeks.
I've already used the last allowance he gave me.
I wiped away the incessant flow of my tears with the back of my hand.
What am I going to do now?
I didn't realize I had fallen asleep on the sofa. My eyes hurt from crying. I looked at the window outside, it's already dark. I glanced at the clock on our wall: 8:00 PM.
I stood up and went to my room. I showered and fixed myself, I also put on some makeup on.
Afterward, I went down to the garage. Daddy gave me this car last year for my birthday.

The drive to the club took thirty minutes.I'm sitting on the cold bench outside the emergency room.
She looked very intimidating and I'm so nervous that I'm almost numb.
"What are you doing here?" she asked seriously.
She coldly glanced at the guard holding me, "Let her go," she said firmly. The guard quickly released me.

The drive to the club took thirty minutes.I'm sitting on the cold bench outside the emergency room.
She looked very intimidating and I'm so nervous that I'm almost numb.
"What are you doing here?" she asked seriously.
She coldly glanced at the guard holding me, "Let her go," she said firmly. The guard quickly released me.
"Mom! Get rid of her!"
