Chapter 2

I pushed open the VIP room door of the bar, carrying heartbreak and rage.

But the moment I saw Alpha Manny’s face, my fury faltered—just for a second.

Then I saw the girl curled in his arms.

She was young. Beautiful. Ethereal, like an angel descended.

I clenched my bag tightly. That face—I’d never forget it.

Just then, the girl in Manny’s lap looked at me and smiled sweetly:

“Monica, did you call the Pack Doctor? Why are you here alone? You didn’t even listen to Alpha Manny’s words.”

Alpha Manny shot me at a cold glance, clearly annoyed.

I stared hard at the girl and gritted out a question:

“Who is she?”

Alpha Manny’s icy eyes made me shiver down to my bones.

“Someone just like you.”

Just like me?

I stepped forward and grabbed his hand.

“Say it clearly. Did this girl get pregnant with your child?”

As if expecting this confrontation, Manny answered flatly:

“Yes. Her name is Phoebe. You should be willing to take care of the both of them. Didn’t you once say you’d do anything for me?”

“I’m begging you… anyone but her. Please don’t choose her.”

Manny’s expression turned mocking. He boldly slid his hand into Phoebe’s bra in front of me.

I couldn’t stand the humiliation. I shoved his hand away and turned to leave.

“Can’t accept it? Then we’re done.”

His voice floated behind me just as I grabbed the door handle.

My hand trembled. I turned back—reluctant, defeated.

I stared greedily at his face for one more second… then, when he noticed, I closed my eyes in shame.

“I’ll go get the Pack Doctor.”

That answer pleased Alpha Manny.

He smiled and pushed Phoebe off his lap, walking over to me.

“You’re really something,” he said with a smirk.

Suddenly, people came out of the shadows—friends of his, all watching, all enjoying the show.

I realized then—it had all been a setup. One of Manny’s cruel games.

His usual drinking buddies didn’t even try to hide their mockery.

“Monica, you’re so pathetic. A low-class Omega like you working so hard to cling to an Alpha’s leg? Desperate much?”

“I’ve never seen such a shameless bitch in my life.”

Alpha Manny sat back down with Phoebe, watching me with cold amusement as they laughed and jeered.

The room’s atmosphere got more vile by the second. Someone even joked:

“If Alpha Manny fucks Phoebe in front of Monica, do you think she’d hand them lube?”

My face twisted, then slowly relaxed into a calm expression.

That calmness made Manny frown.

Amid the laughter, he grabbed Phoebe’s chin and bit down seductively, kissing her.

I remained unmoved.

He released her, walked toward me, his body radiating heat and pheromones.

His hand brushed my waist with intimate familiarity.

“Be obedient now? Drink this, and I’ll forgive you for disobeying me.”

The crowd howled louder. Someone had even slipped wolfsbane into the drink to make it worse.

I paled, clutching the glass.

My stomach screamed in protest, burning like fire. But I closed my eyes and drank it down.

Just as the burning liquid slid down my throat, Alpha Manny kissed me, lips pressed to mine, sharing the alcohol between us.

I responded with a bittersweet tenderness—an echo of the past.

Maybe Phoebe felt threatened, because she interrupted:

“Alpha Manny, look at her—she’s such a slut. You can only kiss one of us. Pick one.”

She whined and clung to him.

Alpha Manny stopped kissing me.

“Don’t compare yourself to her. Don’t be so jealous. She’s just a filthy little Omega. She’ll never be like you.”

I took a deep breath, forced down the bile rising in my throat, and left the suffocating room behind.
