Chapter 2
"Thud.
Belleth Klein had no idea how she had ended up back home. Only after closing the door of her rental apartment in a daze did she look up at Alan Yegel—tears welling up in her eyes, and her chest filled with intense anger.
To my surprise, Alan Yager actually slapped Dave Klein and knocked him unconscious on the spot!!
Then, in a fit of rage, Second Grandfather decided to expel both himself and his unconscious father from the Klein family. Leaving the Klein family was not the primary concern; what mattered most was that she required monthly financial assistance from them. Without that money, her father—who remained hospitalized—could only await death.
Overcome with grief, Bethel Klein immediately crouched down on the ground, burying her head and sobbing uncontrollably.
Seeing this, Alan Yegel felt helpless and stepped forward to try to comfort her.
Alan Yager, you bastard!! You bastard!!! Ah!!!!
Belleth Klein suddenly raised her head, her delicate features contorting slightly as she lunged at Alan Yeger in anger, pounding him fiercely while crying out in anguish.
Alan Yager didn't use any force; he let Bethel Klein pound her against his chest until it went numb, yet she didn't utter a single sound.
Do you even know... do you even know... because of what you did, my father is on the verge of death!!
After struggling for quite some time, Belis Klein finally stopped her flushed hands—probably from exhaustion—and sobbed in a hoarse voice.
The marriage between Bethel Klein and Alan Yager was arranged by her father and several elders. However, after Alan Yager's father fled with the dowry, her father fell gravely ill two years ago and has been hospitalized ever since, incurring substantial daily expenses.
Later, other members of the Klein family seized the opportunity to distribute all the resources originally belonging to their lineage, leaving Belice Klein only with a small coffee shop and a position cleaning the company.
It can be said that without the support of the Klein family, relying solely on Bethel Klein's income would have been insufficient for the hospital to discharge her father within half a month; moreover, she might never have been able to earn enough money throughout her entire career to cover the costs of surgery.
""Our father won't die.""
Seeing that she had calmed down, Alan Yegel frowned but reassured her.
Belleth Klein's eyes lit up briefly as she glanced at him, but immediately faded again. She gritted her teeth and said something.
Can you really come up with the money?! Have you made even the slightest contribution to this house over the past two years?!
“ believe me ……”
I don't want to hear you talk!!
Belleth Klein shouted loudly, then rushed into her room and slammed the door shut.
Alan Yegel, we absolutely need to apologize to Second Grandpa and Duff Klein tomorrow!!
Alan Yegel looked at the closed door and shook his head. Though he was a great mage, he did not practice the Path of Indifference; he felt deep sympathy for what his wife had endured over the past two years.
""Money, I should have that, right?""
Alan Yegel certainly understood the crux of the matter. Frowning, he muttered a thought to himself, then recalled his past actions before suddenly remembering something else.atisfied, he smiled and sat cross-legged on his bed—a dilapidated sofa—beginning to regulate his breathing and practice meditation.
As time passed slowly, the statue-like Alan Yeger suddenly opened his eyes, walked to the window, and spat out a cloud of white vapor that coalesced into a sphere at his lips. Several visible purple vapor trails appeared out of nowhere and mingled with the sphere before being swallowed by Alan Yeger himself.
The time is almost up.
After completing his overnight training, Alan Yager glanced at the sky, retrieved a stack of money from under the sofa, opened the window, and gently jumped down from the sixth floor.
""Alan Yegel, are you ready? We...""
Belleth Klein rubbed her swollen eyes, pushed open the door, and was about to go apologize with Alan Yeger when she noticed his absence from the sofa.
""Alan Yager?! Alan Yager?!""
After searching everywhere but failing to locate Alan Yager, Belissa Klein's expression changed abruptly, and a wave of sorrow washed over her.
Did this guy just run away after realizing the situation was impossible to resolve following his outburst yesterday?
bastard!! Bastard!!
Belleth Klein kicked the sofa several times with force; her red, swollen eyes welled up with tears—not because she felt abandoned, but because she considered her fate utterly pitiful.
After lounging on the sofa for a while, Bethel Klein gritted her teeth and wiped away her tears. She took out the last amount of money she had at her disposal from the room, opened the second-hand refrigerator she'd saved up to buy, hesitated for a moment, then retrieved all the remaining eggs before leaving.
……
……
""Why is it only you, Belissa Klein?! Where's that idiot?""
Duff Klein lay in the VIP ward, his face swollen as a steamed bun and covered in oil, while looking at Beth Klein and shouting angrily.
I don't know where Alan Yager has gone—he might be dealing with something. Duff Klein, I apologize on his behalf.
Belleth Klein bit her lip and bent down toward Duff Klein.
""To hell with you!! What apology do you expect?! I'll make that useless Alan Yager kneel and apologize!""
Duff Klein showed no respect for Beth Klein at all and cursed her vehemently.
His parents standing nearby also wore stern expressions. The middle-aged woman stepped forward and snapped angrily, ""Belleth Klein, do you really want to shield that scumbag?! How can you still be dissatisfied after being removed from the family register? If you protect someone who beats others, do you think you'll end up in prison?!""
""Auntie, I don't know; Alan Yager really has disappeared without a trace...""
""Hmph!! Who would believe your nonsense! Even though you live together, how could you not know where he is? Let me tell you: my son is currently experiencing tinnitus. If it worsens, I'll definitely take you to court!! Then we'll see what your father does!""
The woman continued speaking, but Bethel Klein's face suddenly turned pale, and she quickly took out the money.
Duff Klein, this is twenty thousand yuan. Please don't take it personally; could Second Grandpa forgive me?
""Twenty thousand yuan?! Hahaha!! Twenty thousand yuan?""
At first, Duff Klein was taken aback by Beth Klein's actions; then, upon hearing her words, he burst out laughing and pointed toward the hospital room, saying,
Belice Klein, do you even realize that those twenty thousand yuan are merely enough to cover my hospital expenses for just a few days?!
Belice Klein: I see you've been hanging out with that useless guy for ages—you've completely forgotten what money even means. Twenty thousand dollars is considered money, yet you still expect us to help?!
The woman couldn't help but laugh mockingly, then turned to the bag Bethel Klein had already prepared nearby. After opening it and taking a look inside, she laughed even more heartily.
""Egg, even you, Belissa Klein, can't live up to that standard?! I believe it was right to expel you from the family—you don't deserve to be part of the Klein clan!!""
Belleth Klein listened to their laughter, gritted her teeth, and remained silent.
Duff Klein looked at Bethel Klein at that moment and gave a cold laugh. Just as he was about to tell her to get out, he suddenly remembered something; his eyes lit up, and he studied Bethel Klein intently before smiling malevolently.
""Belleth Klein, do you really not want to leave the Klein family?""
Belleth Klein was taken aback; she really wanted to say she only needed the medical expenses provided by the Klein family, but she still nodded firmly.
""Alright, I'll help you out.""
Son, you...
The woman was startled and was about to speak when Duff Klein stopped her with a glance.
You know how things stand in our Klein family now—it's worse than that of even a second-rate family.
Daf Klein said with a cold laugh,
However, a real estate project in Alberta has recently been actively seeking partners. If our Klein family secures this deal, not only will we restore our former glory, but we'll at least make a comeback in the public eye of Seattle.
Grandfather originally asked me to talk with someone, but since you've persisted until now, why don't you come and discuss it with me in a few days? If we reach an agreement, perhaps, considering your contribution, Grandfather might let you off unscathed. How about that? Are you willing?
“ can 。”
Belleth Klein bit her lip and nodded in agreement.
""Alright, I'll call you when the time comes. You can leave now.""
Daf Klein said.
Belleth Klein nodded at the three individuals, turned around to leave, when she heard Duff Klein let out a cold laugh from behind her.
Mom, just throw that egg away—it's something even dogs wouldn't eat."
