"I figured Vanessa would need someone, too," Ethan explained. "I called him."

Adrian looked at me, then past my shoulder at Vanessa on the sofa.

His brow furrowed. "You're going with him?"

I took a moment to work out what he was asking. Ethan had come to take me home. Adrian was here for Vanessa....
