Chapter 3 KIDNAPPED

CHAPTER THREE

KIDNAPPED

ZARIAH NIGHTBORNE POV

I raised my brow in confusion, Luna? Who’s Luna? “What are you talking about? Who are you guys?” I asked. They stared at me.

“You haven’t regained your memory?” The one in the middle asked, she stared at the rest of them. I rolled my eyes.

“Do I look like I need to get one?” I frowned, yes I knew I needed answers to my questions but not in this way.

“Listen, I don’t know who Luna is but I’m sure I’m not as hell your Luna. I’m Zariah NIGHTBORNE, the silent storme of the underworld organization. I don’t know who you guys are.” I said firmly I stood up to leave.

My eyes darted to the last girl by the left, “I knew you.” I said, I was sure I’ve seen her somewhere before.

Right! On the burial day of father, she was there. I stared closely at the rest of them and realized I knew at least three of them.

I should have noticed the strange people around me, I always knew someone was monitoring my movement but as there wasn’t just one person, I had no idea who it was but now I knew.

They didn’t come in one, but came in many. That was why it wasn’t easy for me to find out who they were.

They were always around me, but on different occasions. “Now that you guys know I’m not your Luna, I hope you stop stalking me, I don’t hesitate to kill anyone.” I warned as I walked back down.

“No listen, we were here because of you.” The last one on the right said, I sighed, I really wasn’t going to do this again, so I?

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not your Luna, don’t you get tired of stalking me and monitoring my movement every time.” I frowned.

“Sorry Luna but we needed to explain to you…” that was the last straw, I balled my fist in anger as I interrupted her.

“I said I am not your goddamn Luna, find your Luna elsewhere.” I shouted in fury, my whole voice echoing in the silent forest.

They shifted back in fear, I could see it in the eyes, the fear but respect, they couldn’t stare at me in the eyes as they bow down.

Was I too harsh? I also didn’t expect my tone to come out that strong. “Listen, I really am not your Luna and I don’t need anyone to try and tell me that.” I said calmly as I turned.

I didn’t wait to stare at them again or listen to their response as I ride back home. I packed the motorbike at the packing slot as I walked inside.

There were some people inside sitting at the sitting room, I rolled my eyes seeing KAEL among them, he must really thought I can’t hurt him.

“What are you doing here?” I asked him angrily ignoring the remaining people. He stood up, his hands inside his pocket, his face was cold and his eyes held no emotions.

“As the new owner of this mansion, and the new leader of the underworld organization, don’t I deserve to be here.” He smirked.

The smirk was just a natural one, it was an expression I knew, a satisfied expression. “What do you mean?”

He took out the token, I could remember leaving it in my drawer this morning because of Lena. I didn’t want to take it along with me since she said we were going shopping.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?” I asked angrily, I balled my fist in anger. He shrugged. Describing with his hands as he played with the token.

“You are not stable enough to rule the empire Zariah, you are weak and pathetic, the empire needs someone strong enough to take over and that isn’t you.” He said.

I dash forward at him, “We both know that isn’t true, this is my right, father wanted this.” I screamed at him.

He laughed, same with everyone in the room, “No he didn’t, he only wanted to protect you from what’s coming…” He paused, I stared at him.

The pieces started coming together, from suddenly seeing him at the mall entrance, to the lady touching him seductively, to me having to go back but not going directly home, he knew.

This wasn’t it, “He knew you guys would rebel and that was why he handed over the token to me.” He finally broke into a smile confirming my suspicions.

I balled my fist in anger, “You lied to me, you knew I wouldn’t come back home directly if I was hurt. You knew I’ll be at the mall so you orchestrated all this.”

The realization hit me, “Now you are starting to understand, this is the real power, not the one of having to bow down or work under someone for power, this is it.” I staggered backwards in shock.

He knew I wouldn’t. He knew I love clearing my head, I showed him everything about me, I trusted him and showed him my real me but he repaid back with betrayal.

“This isn’t true!” I tried convincing myself, “You wouldn’t stoop so low to do that.” I said staring at him but all I received back was a cold gesture.

“I told you, you were just a pawn in my game to get to the top, I didn’t lie to you.” My eyes closed, my tears slowly coming as I blinked them back trying to control myself.

I cleared my throat, “The members wouldn’t accept it.” I said firmly, everyone knew my father died for them, they wouldn’t betray him.

“This is the underworld Zariah, we chose power over anything, and that’s why we’ve come to become this number one so far.”

“Yes, we don’t have any emotions and if there’s something to benefit the empire, that’s exactly what we’ll chose.”

I scoffed, my eyes red from anger but I shook it off, “So having the token gives you what? Benefits to the empire or to yourself?”

KAEL smiled taking over, “Power to the organization which you won’t be having.”

“He died for you guys.” I screamed at them, they all sighed trying to feel less guilty, “You are not strong enough Zariah, your emotions are your weakness.”

“How dare you say that? Do I have to explain how he died to you? And now you are saying my emotions?” I scoffed.

He moved closer to me a bit, “Why don’t you try thinking why the last mission suddenly fell off…” He paused, “Your godfather isn’t the type to fail a mission don’t you think?”

My eyes widened at the realization, they were the one. He was behind it, “You guys sef him up?” I asked.

“No we didn’t, it was just his time to leave, he has held on to the position for too long.” One of them answered.

“Yes, and now he want to pass it to you, does he think we are fools.” The second just beside KAEL pitched in.

Hearing their words, I balled my first in anger, I was angry, this was the same people father died for. The same people he entered the trap for, to protect them and his legacy and this was how they thought of him.

I couldn’t control the surge of strength in me, it felt as though something in me was breaking through.

I could feel it, a strong burst of energy, I closed my eyes trying to figure it out.

Just then, my head twisted, surge of memories and emotions. I held my head in pain as I tried to focus, but I couldn’t.

My head was splitting as though I was forgetting something, something was missing and my brain found them.

The memories, it was exactly the same as my dream, I was in pain as I fell down still holding my head.

It felt real.

“Mother.” I muttered remembering, my memories, it was mine. She was killed, killed by her own kind. They wanted me.

It was all me!

I screamed in pain, they all shifted back in fear as I stood up, my sharp claws came out, “I trusted you! I loved you! I cherished you because I thought you deserved it.”

“No one deserves mercy.” I shouted, now I knew who I was, I am Zariah Nightborne, the last blood luna, that was what they feared.

They feared my power and my strength, so they killed my family, they slaughtered my mother because of me. They wanted me.

As I was about to attack them, someone injected me from behind, my whole body felt weak, I slowly fell down, my eyes dizzy as I stared at her.

“You are the one!” My voice was weak as I murmured, her face twisted, and sh

Fte smirked, one I knew too well as I plunged into darkness.
