Chapter 5

Doesn’t everyone feel refreshed when they encounter happy events? Allen Lind is no exception. He finally managed to break free from his humble past, but his wife also suffered a lot of ridicule along with him.

Think about how my father-in-law treated me on my birthday that day. And then there was my wife’s submissive gaze, and Pamela Newman’s smug expression.

A young master like myself being forced to work as his bodyguard. It’s just an emerald pipe after all! As my father-in-law gets older, it’s obvious his eyesight isn’t as good anymore.

Recently, Cartier released a globally limited edition of reading glasses, with platinum frames set with diamonds.

Only 10 pairs are available worldwide, with each pair priced at 10 million. The gold frames are crafted by polishing diamonds. These glasses truly symbolize status!

Aaron Lind pulled out that Supreme Black Card, feeling indescribably satisfied. He really loved this new identity. It meant that from now on, he wouldn’t have to cater to others’ moods when eating!

He walked into the Cartier store with calm composure. To everyone’s surprise, Pamela Newman was also there, arm in arm with a very beautiful woman.

Pamela Newman saw Allen Lind walking toward her, looking extremely panicked. She didn’t know what to do. She was afraid that this worthless man would expose her affair. After all, she had often made fun of him!

“How did you end up here? Security, come here immediately! Why is anyone allowed to enter like this? Get this guy out of here!”

The security guard politely apologized to Pamela Newman upon seeing this.

“Sir, sorry to interrupt you with this gesture. We’ll get him out right away!”

This snobbish security guard, looking at Allen Lind’s very plain clothes, thought he was some poor kid. He even suspected that Allen might be a thief trying to steal something. So, the security guard spoke to him in a contemptuous tone.

“You’re just who you are. Get lost from here right now. It’s best if I never see you again. Every time I see you, I’ll beat you. I hope you understand your place in the world. Don’t go to places that aren’t suitable for you!”

In the past, Allen Lind might have just laughed it off and left. But things are different now.

“You’re taking advantage of your position as a large company to customers. What right do you have to kick me out? You’re just a lowly security guard. I want to see your manager!”

Everyone present couldn’t help but laugh at this. They all thought he wasn’t worthy of meeting the manager, especially this security guard.

“The manager? You think you’re good enough to see the manager? Our manager only deals with orders worth over 5 million. Kid, I suggest you be sensible and get lost. Don’t come in the way of our business!”

Aaron Lind understood why Pamela Newman disliked his presence so much: the woman he was holding arm in arm with was his lover.

Who Pamela Newman cheated with is still unknown to everyone, though now Allen Lind knows.

Ever since Pamela Newman became successful, she completely changed—forgetting that she had once been their benefactor.

“I heard your store has released a globally limited edition of Cartier glasses, with only 10 pieces available! I want to buy a pair to take home!”

Everyone present thought that this young man had already sealed the item. After all, those glasses were worth 10 million.

The security guard couldn’t stand it any longer. He grabbed his electric baton and started to threaten the guy. “You little brat, why don’t you have any sense of shame? Acting like some big shot here. If you can show us any proof that you actually have 10 million, we wouldn’t treat you like this at all!”

At this moment, Pamela Newman, as the brother-in-law, said mockingly to everyone:

“He’s just a good-for-nothing who lives off others. There’s no such thing as 10 million dollars anywhere. He simply relies on my father-in-law, Baldwin Ross, to support him!”

After hearing Pamela Newman speak in that manner, everyone became unbashedly bold. They rushed forward to accuse, insult, and even hurl insults at Aaron Lind.

“A worthless loser shouldn’t act all important. Who does this young master think he is?”

“What on earth is this thing?”

“If I were you, I’d have dug a hole and gotten out of there long ago. Stop making a fool of yourself and just leave!”

Obviously, Arlen Lind has kept this a secret for now. Few people know about it, except, of course, Edwina Brown.

Aaron Lind was both annoyed and amused. He was annoyed that people still treated him as they used to, looking down on him. What made him laugh was that these people were incredibly stupid, downright hilarious.

Without saying a word, he took out his Supreme Black Card from his pocket. Then, he stood there boldly, showing it to everyone before speaking.

“Do you know what this is? Does anyone recognize it? Can you show me the second one?”

Everyone looked around, none of them knowing what it was. Pamela Newman might have been a nouveau riche, but she was still a country bumpkin who certainly didn’t recognize it. So she snatched it away, threw it on the ground, and said angrily.

“What kind of crappy thing is this? Why are you waving it in front of my face?”

At that moment, the hall was extremely bustling. The manager rushed over upon hearing the commotion. When he saw the Supreme Black Card on the floor, he quickly picked it up. He asked in surprise, “May I ask which distinguished gentleman owns this card? This is a card that symbolizes status. It shouldn’t be treated in such a manner!”

Upon hearing this, everyone was stunned. This card could indeed only be owned by people of high status. They whispered among themselves, suspecting that he might have stolen or found it.

“Could it be that he stole it?”

“I think it’s very likely!”

“Look at how pathetic he is. How could he even think of stealing things? In my opinion, he must have picked them up from the trash!”

“Hahaha, I think what you said makes sense!”

After hearing what everyone had to say, the manager looked at the plainly dressed young man before him and said, “Is this card yours?”

Aaron Lind replied calmly, “Yes, that’s correct, sir!”

Upon hearing this, the manager immediately smiled and said, “That’s great! It’s an honor for this card to have a young and talented owner like you!”

After saying that, the manager handed the card to Aaron Lind. Then he said to Aaron Lind, “They’re just young kids who don’t understand things. Let me take care of dealing with you.”

“That’s perfect,” said Aaron Lind casually.

At this point, he has no desire to be polite with this manager anymore. He’s here simply to buy those Cartier glasses, which are part of a global limited edition of just 10 pairs.

“Give me that Cartier limited-edition glasses case!”

He was overjoyed when he saw the Supreme Black Card on the ground. He knew right away that today would bring him a big deal.

The manager laughed so hard his mouth couldn’t close, then instructed his subordinates to get the job done.

“Please go to the VIP area. That clerk, bring two cups of cat poop coffee! This way, please. I was unable to come over due to some matters just now. Please forgive any inconvenience.”

Everyone looked dumbfounded, and Pamela Newman was no exception. She grabbed Allen Lind by the arm and said something.

“10 million isn’t something to joke about. Are you crazy?”
