After dinner, the mother-in-law was overjoyed. Ina Ross and Aaron Lind finally acted with some backbone. But Baldwin Ross wondered what kind of person Aaron Lind really was, since he could be so generous in his actions.

Today, Allen Lind has become wealthy. Thinking of all the hardships his wife had endured, he spoke to her gently.

“Tomorrow, I’ll go shopping with you. We’ll buy brand-name clothes and bags. Anything you like, I’ll buy for you!”

Inna Ross couldn’t help but feel happy inside, but of course, she had to decline politely. So, she spoke in a subtle manner.

“How much does this cost? That Gucci bag—the latest model costs 2 million! And those Chanel custom-made shoes cost 1.5 million each! Not to mention the clothes and jewelry! How much is all that together?”

Aaron Lind really didn’t care about money at all. He knew that his black card was more than enough to cover such a large amount of money.

“As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. Don’t worry about me not having money. Starting today, whatever you like, just go ahead and buy it. Don’t worry about me not being able to pay for it!”

Although Ina Ross felt reassured by what Allen Lind said, she still had some doubts:

“You’ve already bought Dad glasses worth 10 million, and jewelry worth over 500,000 for me. That’s a huge amount of money spent. How can you possibly have that much left?”

Aaron Lind laughed at this, saying nothing. It seemed his wife still didn’t believe in his abilities. When in their family’s history had they ever been unable to come up with even this amount of money?

But as for the secrets of their family, he didn’t want to tell Ina Ross for now. There were some things he hadn’t figured out himself. He really didn’t know how to explain them. It wasn’t that he intended to hide them from her.

“Baby, please go ahead and spend the money on flowers. I’ll tell you everything else later. I’ll be honest with you about everything. But not now. Please trust me, okay? I have the ability to support you. You won’t have to work at Edwina Brown’s company anymore. That way, he won’t be able to make fun of you, and no one in the office will laugh at you!”

“Edwina Brown isn’t a bad person at heart. She just has a sharp tongue. Don’t take what she said that day too seriously. I won’t reject you, no matter what others say!”

Aaron Lind insisted relentlessly:

“I know, and I believe everything you’ve done for me over the years. I just don’t want you to suffer any more. I’ll call Edwina Brown now and tell her you won’t be coming to work tomorrow!”

While listening to Allen Lind, as soon as those words came out, I panicked. I quickly stopped Allen Lind and said, “Don’t do this. You absolutely must not do this. How can this be explained clearly over the phone?”

The call was just made. You answered the phone earlier, and Allen Lind received the message:

“I’m telling you seriously right now: my wife has fired you. Starting tomorrow, Ina Ross won’t be going to work at your company anymore!”

After saying that, she hung up the phone, not giving Edwina Brown a chance to respond. As the president of a company and the daughter of a wealthy family from Central Asia, she had never been treated like this before. No one had ever dared to speak to her in such a manner. Filled with anger, she immediately called back. As soon as Aaron Lind answered the phone, she started yelling at him.

“What kind of person are you anyway? How dare you speak to me like that? Listen, Alan Lind—no matter how much you wear fancy clothes, you’re still not a prince. Don’t think you’re something special just because you have some money. I don’t even give a damn about your money.”

Aaron Lind listened to his insults. Just as he was about to retort, Li Si snatched the phone from him and said to Zhao Edwina Brown.

“Please stop talking about Alan Lind like that. We really love each other. Please stop saying he’s worthless. He’s not worthless at all! He’s very kind to me!”

Edwina Brown was furious to see that her best friend wasn’t helping her at all, but instead took Aaron Lind’s side. She continued to curse loudly.

“A man should act with integrity and honesty. What kind of ‘skill’ is it of yours to try to undermine my relationship with Ina Ross? You gossiping wench! Calling you worthless is actually giving you too much credit! I don’t care. You’ll be coming to work at my company tomorrow! Otherwise, I’ll kill you!”

Snatched the phone and ran out.

“Edwina Brown, please don’t speak in such a harsh manner. I’ll go to work at the company tomorrow. Please stop humiliating Aaron Lind, okay?”

As soon as Edwina Brown heard Ina Ross’s voice, her emotions immediately calmed down.

“Sis, what have I ever done wrong to you? Why do you insist on siding with that worthless guy? What is there about him that deserves your respect? Is it really worth ending our relationship over him?”

Ina Ross couldn’t remember how many times she’d reminded Edwina Brown to show some respect for Alan Lind. But Edwina Brown simply wouldn’t listen.

“Edwina Brown, if you still consider me your sister, please stop using the word ‘good-for-nothing’ to describe Aaron Lind!”

“Edwina Brown, let me tell you again: Alan Lind isn’t some weakling. Yesterday, he gave my father a Cartier pair of glasses worth 10 million dollars—a limited edition model from around the world!”

Edwina Brown found this news utterly unbelievable. She wondered if there was something wrong with her ears, so she asked again.

“What are you talking about? Ina Rose, are you referring to those Kadia glasses? You must be dreaming! How could he possibly afford them?”

Ina Ross knew that Edwina Brown wouldn’t believe it, and that no one else would believe it either. After all, she herself was still doubting it up to this day.

“Edwina Brown, there are some things that can’t be explained over the phone. He’s not as worthless as you think. You heard me right—that’s the Cartier glasses!”

Edwina Brown might have thought there was something wrong with her ears, but that wasn’t the case. She had to accept certain facts and reevaluate some of her beliefs. After all, times change—fortune comes and goes in cycles.

“Aaron Lind, you’ve suffered so much over the years. It’s only today that I realize just how much you’ve endured. I used to think those things weren’t that serious. Would you like to come with me to the company to meet Edwina Brown tomorrow?”

Aaron Lind has indeed suffered a lot of hardships. But to be honest, with a wife who understands him like this, he’s willing to endure all those hardships willingly.

“You want to take me to Edwina Brown’s company? What do you even want to do there? I want to take you shopping tomorrow. Why go to work anyway? I can afford to support you!”

Ina Ross certainly knew that Allen Lind cared about her, but this wasn’t a matter of whether he cared or not. Some things simply needed to be discussed face-to-face.

“It’s enough that you mean well. I understand. We can buy the clothes another day. But there are some things I must take you to deal with tomorrow. You must come with me. I need to settle things with Edwina Brown!”

Seeing his wife Ina Rose’s determination, Allen Lind said nothing more.

“Okay, okay, whatever you say. I’ll do whatever you command. Is that acceptable, my dear wife?”

Aaron Lind coquettishly said to Ina Ross. Ina Ross glanced at him, feeling both pity and helplessness. She touched his forehead and said something.
