Chapter 4 Chapter 4

~Owen~

Suddenly, I stepped away from him, giving him time to ponder my next move. Immediately, he went on his knees begging for his life. However, my commanding voice sliced through his pleas.

"Silence!" My demeanor changed into something dark and dangerous. However, in a second, I slowly let it soften into a very sweet version of me.

"Who said I was going to kill you? I'm not as cruel as you think. I don't kill innocent hookers like you. Don't worry, I'll spare your life... But for attempting to have what is mine, you'll serve me for the rest of your life."

Immediately, he pressed his forehead on the floor, begging, "I'll do anything....Anything as long as you spare my life."

"Good," I muttered. Seeing him tremble in fear, a satisfactory glint appeared in my eyes. "I know everything about you," I went on calmly.

"Your mother. Your sister. They’re living quite freely. However, if you want them to continue living in a peaceful life..." I pulled out a card, letting it fall just out of reach, "You have only thirty minutes to present yourself at my place. Don’t think of being clever. You’ll regret it."

He scrambled for the card, desperately clutching onto it. "I swear," He cried. "I'll serve you for the rest of my life. Please...leave my family out of this."

"Now leave," I ordered, letting him stand. I watched him, his legs barely supporting him as he staggered toward the door and fled the room.

"This is just the beginning of the game," I smirked, returning to my seat on the open window.

Settling into my seating position once more, this time I waited until Elowen entered the room.

A knowing smile curved up my lips as I reached up removing the scarred face. "For the first time, I'm going to reveal my true face to you, Elowen."

I let my gaze drift around the room until it settled on the bed. A soft chuckle rose from my throat at what played in my mind. "Let's see how this is going to turn out, Elowen."

~Elowen POV~

A few hours later. I stood in front of Haven's hotel, its tower pressing in on me.

I acknowledged the environment as it eased a little of the chaos in my mind. It was a place free of swarming fans trying to get a picture of you or making you sign an autograph, and the darkness of the night did an awesome job of hiding my face from people who could easily spot me.

The moment my presence was made known in the front office of the hotel came the admiration from those who quickly recognized me. It was a beautiful thing to know so many see me as their idol. One of the things I'd become blessed to experience was the love I had impacted on people as one of the city's A-list actresses.

But do they know what a woman whom they respected so much was about to do behind closed doors?

I felt relieved that they kept a safe distance as I walked to this particular receptionist who lowered her head on seeing me. "Good evening Ma'am, welcome back to Haven's hotel." She greeted me pleasantly.

"Thank you," I muttered as she quickly confirmed something on her computer, then said, "You informed us you have a guest visiting you in your room, is that right ma'am?"

"Yes, that's right." I wasn't surprised she asked. Hotel policy for safety. "I'm sure he has arrived by now?"

"Yes, he arrived a few minutes ago. Here's the access card to your room." She said, handing the card to me.

"Thank you," The moment I left, the doubt in the eyes of the lady did not go unnoticed.

But I did not care.

Making for the elevator, in a few minutes, it dung to reveal the five-star decor of a luxurious hotel corridor.

I identified my room and with just one touch of the card on the door, it unlocked. The moment I stepped in, the room's biting air hit me.

There, I met him standing at the window side staring at the outer space, not moving.

Without hesitation, I kicked the shoes off my feet and tossed them aside together with my purse, however, the man at this point made no move.

"Are you going to stand there all day? Won't you let me see your face?" I questioned, not that I had the time for formalities or wanted any. I didn't care to know his name either but at least, it was important to know the face of my one-night stand to make sure to stay clear of him in the future.

He then, finally turned to reveal his face to me.

At this point, I knew I felt my breath leave my lungs.

Broad-shouldered, his hair in spiral black curls falling just enough to shadow the smoldering silver-gray of his eyes, adding a casual yet sophisticated charm.

Face sharp and symmetrical, with a chiseled jawline, high cheekbones, and a straight nose, creating a classical, almost sculpted appearance.

With a flip of my hair to the side, I took a step dominating the presence as I let my eyes ogle him one more time, in a way to make him understand his loyalty to me.

I forced a deep breath, not bad.

At least, losing my dream first night with a stranger was going to be with a man good looking.

I couldn't hide the fact that he wasn't just good-looking, but breathtaking.

"It's time to get this done with," I said, voice coming out more like an order. In a nut of surprise, he began taking some steps towards me, steps that pressed a commanding aura I least expected, stopping just right in front of me.

Lowering his head close to me, he brought his hand tugging stray hairs behind my ear as he whispered, "Are you sure of what you're about to do?" He asked, as if he had the authority to question me in that manner which made my brows knit.

"I paid you to have me for the night. Not to ask a stupid question. I'm not a kid to know what I want, so go ahead and do your job well." I couldn't help but snap his hand off my face which his lips now pulled into a smug look.
