Chapter 3 Welcome the Bride
Luca's pov
Muffled screams and a flying bat. The punk was already spitting blood on my new rug, now I'd have to ask Lisa to ship in another new one for me.
“I’m so sorry Capo….I didn't think she'd be in the city—” Dimitri sobbed as Fabio sent another full swing of the bat to his back.
I took a seat a few feet away from them, just far enough away to keep Dimitri”s blood and Fabio’s sweat from touching me.
Fabio, just like me, had zero tolerance for mistakes. Even if it was your first. Dimitri's nose was already fractured from the beatings he had gotten from my men when he was caught.
Leaving him in the hands of Fabio meant instant death.
I wasn't loving the show but I had to make sure my wrath was felt. No one leaves Luca Marciano caught off guard. It had taken me a moment to realize that my mission to the Valencias almost turned disastrous.
It was risky to have Selena there.
Not like I cared but seeing a woman that you fucked, dreamt of and craved like a mad man was never a good sign. She made me leave the Valencias unfinished, and I hated that.
With Fabio feasting on Dimitri, it was enough for me to get rid of my anger. In my world, not doing your job properly gets you killed.
“Boss please!” Dimitri’s cries shook me back to reality. His eyes were heavily swollen with deep cuts on his arms and back, courtesy of Fabio. It was just a bat but Fabio was known to be very creative with his weapon of choice.
“Untie him” I instructed. Fabio's mouth bent in a frown, he doesn't like being cut from his sick form of fun. He loosened the rope tied around Dimitri, leaving him to fall bluntly to the ground.
Dimitri grunted loudly the moment he touched the ground, blood from his nose spewed to the floor. His hands to his mouth as he coughed blood into it, courtesy of Fabio.
I cleared my throat, “What happened?”
Dimitri coughed blood into his palms before he could form any proper words. He was bleeding from bruises Fabio had inflicted from him.
“I….I checked..” he choked out, constantly holding his mouth for comfort as blood dripped out. He was badly wounded and somehow that didn't move me.
I needed someone to suffer for my loss and Dimitri chose to be the one for it.
I relaxed in my seat, face raised high to keep my full gaze on him. “You are wasting my time boy. Do you want Fabio to continue? He has all the time to torture you a little bit more.”
“No no no!” He begged, crawling towards me to grab my legs but Fabio was quick enough to hold him back, dragging him back to the center of the room.
I glanced at my watch, getting impatient. “You have five minutes, Dimitri or I'll transfer you to the cellar.”
Dimitri started shaking like a leaf again. “I'll talk! I had miscalculated the people in the house. I thought it wouldn't make sense since you were only going after Andrew. I didn't—”
Fabio gave him kick to the side that caused him to jerk off in pain before he continued.
“I'm sorry!” He cried, clenching his hands together, begging. “I didn't think she'd be there with them, I thought it was just Andrew. I'm so sorry boss, please don't kill me.”
That was where the problem was. I don't just forget things, I also clean up people who spoil my work. For Dimitri, forgiveness was far gone.
Because of him, the Valencias were still roaming around and my revenge on Andrew was increasing and it only got my list longer with Selena in it.
“Dimitri” I leaned in for him to look at me. “You know I can't forgive such sin. You knew how important this was for me and the risks involved too but you didn't bother to clarify to make sure that it was correctly prepared.”
I stood to my feet, smirking. “You didn't just put me in danger. You increased Andrew's debt and you added to my list. You forced me to leave my mission incomplete.” I stretched my hand towards Fabio who handed me a gun.
I had it pointed towards him. “So which one is it? Torture to death or a bullet to your head?”
“Boss, I'm—” I pulled the trigger, silencing the words in his mouth. Dimitri’s body fell numb to the floor with his blood making a mess of the place.
“I told you to pick a side, careless bastard.” I turned to Fabio, “tell Lisa to get three new rugs and something that keeps blood from messing up my home.”
“Yes boss.”
“And don't drag his body out.” I added, turning him to see him about to drag Dimitri's bloody corpse across my floor. “Get the men to help you, don't be such a mess. I beg you.”
Fabio had a thing from dragging his dead victims across the floor to enjoy putting their blood on display. That was the sickest thing but as a man who cleaned his tracks properly, Fabo was always trusted for a job like that.
I had made it to the upper room when rapid footsteps started approaching me fast.
“Boss!” One of my men ran to my side with a phone in his hand. “Andrew is calling.”
Ah, so the bastard was alive afterall and he made me go for his wife first. To get a man, go after what he loves. That was a truth that never really applied to me but I saw it applied to Andrew and it took me one shot to prove that.
I took the phone from him and held it to my ear. “Talk fast, Andrew.”
“We are coming in. I'm bringing her, Selena.”
Those words rose something in my chest like a sting of excitement and victory. It was like hitting two birds with one storm.
Catching Andrew and taking Selena for myself. I looked over to Fabio, his heaving chest wasn't pacing anymore.
“Get my gun. We have visitors.”
Fabio took a gun out of his pocket and handed it to me. "Do I need to get involved?"
I shook my head. "No, my bride is included. I don't want her seeing blood on the carpet.”
