Chapter 9
This game is every man for themselves. If you guess wrong, you take a shot, guess right and you're safe. If no one guesses what you're acting out, then you have to take a shot. We have a 1 minute timer that buzzes when times up. We randomize the order, so George ends up going first. He plucks a paper out of the hat, and nods to himself before jumping around like a monkey. So I yell out "Monkey!" I'm wrong of course, so I pour and down my shot. Blowing out my breath to cool the heat. A few more people guess incorrectly, and take their shots. When the timer buzzes no one has guessed so George takes his shot.
"It was jumping on a trampoline!"
We continue on a few more rounds of this, and more than a few of us are swaying in our seats. I stumble up and go into the kitchen and grab 2 armfuls of water bottles from the fridge. I stumble back to the living room and pass the bottles around before opening one myself and chugging it down. I blearily look around and see everyone leaning back in their seats with their eyes closed. I look at my watch, and notice that it's 1:30am, Looks like no one's driving home, so I start shaking everyone asking them if they wanted to Uber or stay. George and Kathy opted to share an Uber since they live close to each other. Everyone else decided to stay. I smiled at everyone,
"I have 2 rooms upstairs that can be shared, and if it's not a problem with whoever can't make it to the bed, you're more than welcome to camp out here." Roxanne and Paul were the first to get up, they looked at each other, and started making their way upstairs.
After Roxanne with Paul, and Levi with Linda goes upstairs, everyone else sprawls all over the chairs in the living room to sleep. I slowly walked up the stairs( I don't wanna fall back down). I walked into my room, ignoring the sounds I heard coming from the other rooms.
Sheesh guys! I'm not even having sex in my own house, and here my siblings are getting it on with my co-workers!
I make my way to bed after popping 2 pain pills and drinking more water. I wasn't one for hangovers, so I took steps. Everyone else would wake up with regrets.
When I wake up in the morning, it's 6:30am as per usual. I stay in bed though because I'm not ready to be up. It's too early when I don't have to work. When I wake up again, it's 11am. I get up out of bed, and go to the bathroom to relieve and refresh myself. After my shower, I get dressed in plain pajamas(I'm still not ready for anyone to see my printed ones).
I go downstairs, look in the living room to see everyone still asleep. I make my way to the kitchen to get breakfast started. I take out some bacon and eggs, and start cutting up some potatoes and peppers. I start my double pot coffee maker(so thanking the decision I made to purchase this!)
I start cooking, and as the house starts to fill with smells of breakfast, I begin to hear movement from the living room and upstairs. By the time I'm finished cooking, everyone is in the kitchen standing around eyeing the coffee pots.
I chuckle "Mugs are in the cabinet directly above."
Sighs of relief are heard all around, as everyone gets in single file to grab a cup and fill it with coffee. I set the creamer and sugar container on the island, as everyone moves over to stand around it. I start making plates and passing them around, while everyone remains quiet, just sipping on their coffees.
I cheerily say "Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed themselves yesterday, and I trust everyone slept well?"
I said this will side eyeing Roxanne and Paul, and Levi and Linda.
Levi has a smirk on his face as he says "Well I definitely enjoyed myself yesterday, even though there wasn't much sleeping involved."
I gag "TMI Levi! TMI!"
Levi just laughs while Linda blushes.
I do not want to hear about my brother having sex with my co-worker!
Roxanne laughs (which of course she would think it's funny since she got some action last night), while Paul blushes.
Everyone else is just looking around wondering what they missed. I shake my head "You guys don't even wanna know." "Let's blame it on the alcohol."
Levi chuckles again at this "I don't think the alcohol had anything to do with what happened last night."
"La la la la la!" I yell, "I don't want to hear about what happened last night, in any way, shape, or form! Matter of fact! Let's pretend nothing happened!"
Levi laughs yet again(I don't know why he finds this so funny.) He says "Ok bro, I'll keep it to myself to save your virgin ears."
"Hardly a virgin, I just don't wanna know what my siblings are getting up to with my coworkers!"
After we eat, we all look around to survey the damage. There are cups and trash scattered around the dining room and kitchen, and food that needs to be trashed. We begin to clean up, and with all of us cleaning, we're done in no time.
"Anyone up for a movie before y'all have to leave?"
Linda declines saying she has to get home, Paul says he has to get to his parents house to check on them. Roxanne says she has some work to get done before tomorrow. While Lily, Tim, Melissa, Jack, and Levi choose to stay to watch a movie.
Roxanne asks Paul if he's driving, to which he replies that he isn't, she then offers to drop him off at his parents house before she goes to work. At first he declines, but after Roxanne asks him where they live and they realize it's on the way to her job, he agrees.
I hug Roxanne and Linda, and shake Paul's hand, and thank them for coming, before they leave.
We all decide to watch The Nun, since it's still light out. After the movie is over, Melissa and Lily are scared hiding behind Jack and Tim.
I put Spongebob on while laughing "I hope this helps, watch a few episodes of this and y'all will be just fine."
Melissa and Lily laugh while they start watching Spongebob.
Jack, Tim, Levi, and I head into the kitchen where we all grab beers and sit at the kitchen table.
Jack asks "So are you gonna check if the job is listed?"
Levi and Tim look at me asking "What job?"
"Oh just a job opened up for personal secretary for the number 1 company in the state, Logan Enterprise." I say.
They both look at each other and then look at me.
Levi says "Whoa! That's awesome! Just what you've always wanted! When are you checking?"
I laugh, "Chill out bro, I'll check it out now!"
