CHAPTER THREE: THE SCHOOL BULLIES
"Yoh, where are you headed? Not so fast!" A fierce-looking girl suddenly blocked Lomesa's path and crossed her arms on her chest, looking overly pleased with herself. Lomesa found this ridiculous.
"Why can't I leave?" although Lomesa understood their intentions from the word go, she pretended to be oblivious and asked with a trembling voice. From the girls' point of view, Lomesa's shaky voice was a sign that she was so scared. This made the girls feel complacent.
'Didn't they see through me?' Lomesa thought in confusion. She thought she wasn't too good of an actress, so she expected to be discovered immediately. Just how dumb were these people? Thinking about this, Lomesa's gaze when she looked at them became disdainful. However, she retracted it so fast that no one noticed anything unusual about her.
"If you leave, who will we play with, huh?" the girl who answered this, looked at Lomesa as though she was looking at an idiot. Why was she asking the obvious?
"Oh, then come and play with me, I have something I need to attend to," Lomesa replied nonchalantly.
The obvious invitation from Lomesa made the people feel surprised. Speaking of which, that was was the first day the girls had seen Lomesa talk with her head raised and with a calm expression. In the past when they bullied her, didn't she always cry pitifully while begging for mercy? Didn't she also never have eye contact with them? Forget it, she had invited them, so, why not?
The few girls didn't know that Lomesa was scheming against them. Instead, they were gleefully marching forward, slowly falling into the tiger's den one by one. When all of them had entered the den, the door immediately slammed shut.
Lomesa, who was surrounded by the girls, took off her backpack and jacket and dropped them on the ground. She cracked her knuckles and before anyone could react, the first person was immediately punched in the nose. Her nose immediately cracked, the punch was enough to send her far away, she landed on the ground with a thud and immediately spat out a mouthful of blood. Thereafter, her eyes rolled back and she fainted.
"What are you waiting for? Attack!" the leader, seeing that everyone was in a daze, felt so angry that she shouted orders at them. The stunned girls came back to their senses and charged at Lomesa all at once. No one knew what happened, but the next minute, the girls were lying unconscious on the ground, except the leader, who seemed so terrified and was groveling at Lomesa's feet while begging for mercy. Lomesa, on the other hand, was unscathed. She casually leaned on a tree with one hand in her pocket while the other was twirling a strand of her hair. She looked so cool despite her being ugly. The noise on the ground reminded her of the bully. She lifted the girl by her neck and brought her closer to her face. When the girl looked into Lomesa's cold gaze that felt like a whirlpool that was sulking her in, she couldn't help but scream. The next minute, a pungent smell suddenly permeated the air. When Lomesa looked down, she saw a yellowish liquid rushing down the bully's legs. Her nose wrinkled in disgust, and she threw away the person she was holding.
" Scram!" Lomesa said only one word, but the moment she did, everyone immediately dispersed at an astonishing speed. Even the bully who was conceited earlier, left with her tail tucked between her legs. She even forgot about her underlings. The scene was comical.
After everyone had left, Lomesa patted the nonexistent dirt on her hands and picked up her stuff. She immediately left for her place. She had a lot of things she had to set right and so, with the help of her previous life's memory, she immediately recognized the apartment she was living in. She hit the shower the moment she reached the house. She was a clean freak to begin with. Sitting in class the whole made her feel sticky. Coupled with the fact that she had seen how the bully had dirtied her clothes, she felt extremely disgusted that she only wanted to wash her body off any impurities. She could set up a plan after that. After showering, Lomesa quickly whipped up a light supper. She cooked instant noodles since she didn't have much of an appetite. After eating, she began doing her English homework. In the last lifetime, she fell for the trick of Alvin and Samantha, who had advised her not to take English seriously as she was already good enough. She only regretted it in a business conference sometime ago when she was asked to present a proposal, and she failed due to her poor English-speaking skills. She became a laughingstock for a while in Sea City. The people who came to console her were none other than Alvin and Samantha. At that time, she remembered feeling touched by their support and thoughtfulness. She would never have imagined that all that was a facade that was to be kept until they got what they wanted from her. She only got to know this on the day of her death. From that day onwards, she vowed never to fall in love again if she was given a chance. Would she succeed in this lifetime? She hoped so.
Since she had been a poor performer, she decided to start by building a foundation. She began reading without slacking off. It came in handy since she could imitate it without having to use the dictionary or the Internet. After getting done, Lomesa lay on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She was reorganizing the events that transpired in her last lifetime. She wanted to know which event she would deal with first. She also felt so lonely. She had no friends to chat with rather text with. Samantha really did a good job. She actually made sure the only friend Lomesa had was her. Lomesa remembered that someday, some girls who had sincere intentions had tried to open her eyes to the reality that Samantha was a bad person. However, before she could talk, Samantha had already rushed over and clearly distorted the truth. She manipulated Lomesa into thinking that the girls were only jealous and had ulterior motives for approaching her all of a sudden. She remembered how she had insulted them and warned them never to appear in front of her again lest she call the police. She really was a fool. Lomesa gave herself a tight slap.
"Ouch!" She inhaled a sharp air of pain, but at least that made her realize that she was no longer the fool that was once used to being bullied and manipulated. She wanted to stand up tall and look condescendingly at the people beneath her feet after her revenge. Revenge was the only thing that rang in her mind at that time. She realized that being merciful was actually a weakness and she wanted to become ruthless. She was going to revert to her persona. The one she had before she met Alvin and Samantha. Cold and ruthless.
When Lomesa looked at her bank account, she felt a headache coming on. Since when did she, a billionaire, become so poor? She only had one hundred dollars in her account right now. It couldn't help her. She had to look for money as soon as possible! While thinking of a way to make money, something suddenly snapped in her mind. That's right, wasn't she the top mysterious hacker LM? Also, why did she say she didn't have friends when she could just chat with her colleagues on the dark Web? When she looked in, she found that her status had been reduced to that of a beginner, since she was looking for a job, they decided to first test her. The rate at which she solved the tasks she was given was so inexplicable that it made people gasp in shock most of the time. When she passed all the tests, she immediately went back to the rank she'd always been. Rank number one. The S-level rank.
At that moment, in a villa in north city, the four people's phones rang with a notification. They couldn't help but widen their eyes in surprise. This notification, … they knew it very well. Whose could it be other than their mysterious boss?!!
"Damn! Someone to pinch me, the boss actually came online? I …ouchhh!!"
