I walked up and down my portion of the ballroom wing. The sound of my footsteps echoed off the marble and the silence.

The ballroom gleamed with polished wood, golden trims, and velvet curtains fit for my rank. None of it mattered.

All I could see was her.

My mind was in a constant cyclone,...
