Chapter 4: Evelyn Hired at Least Ten Male Escorts

Michael left.

Evelyn was alone in the huge living room.

She smiled bitterly as she bent down to pick up the divorce agreement. Looking at the wound on her palm continuously bleeding, the blood stained the divorce agreement she had already signed.

Against the bright red blood, a few black words stood out even more.

They read: leaving with nothing.

When she married Michael, it was because she loved him.

Now that they were divorcing, she didn't want anything to taint her feelings.

She chose to leave with nothing to prove her devotion to this love.

But now...

Michael's cold and heartless words were like knives, mercilessly cutting into her heart over and over again.

He had no feelings for her whatsoever, not even the compassion he'd show to a stranger.

Only endless disgust.

If that's the case, why should she still leave with nothing?

If she left with nothing, letting Michael keep all the marital assets to support Elysia?

She wasn't some charity case throwing money at random people.

Evelyn tore up the divorce agreement and drafted a new one with a fair division of marital property, signing her name.

Then she called a servant to rebandage her wound.

Earlier, because of the sarcastic exchange between her and Michael at the living room entrance, the servants had all avoided them, afraid of getting involved.

The servant who came to bandage her wound now kept glancing at Evelyn as she looked at the wound on her palm.

Evelyn was in a bad mood and not very focused, but she still noticed.

"What is it? Do you have something to say?"

The servant thought for a moment and spoke: "Mrs. Johnson, your wound, actually..."

It was Michael who personally bandaged it for you last night.

I saw it with my own eyes.

The servant wanted to say.

But before she could finish, another servant nudged her arm: "Be careful, don't hurt Mrs. Johnson."

The servant immediately shut up.

Evelyn, being in a bad mood, didn't press further.

After treating her wound and changing clothes, Evelyn left.

Seeing Evelyn's figure disappear at the villa entrance, the servant who had interrupted gave Ursa a cold look.

"You're here to work. Don't meddle in the master's affairs. Be careful not to bring trouble on yourself."

"I understand, Lika. I won't do it again." Ursa lowered her head apologetically.

...

When Delilah Roberts saw Evelyn, she almost didn't recognize her.

"Oh my God, Evelyn, did you suddenly wake up today? You've actually gone back to your old style of dressing."

She circled Evelyn several times, her joy evident, but soon the smile disappeared.

"Evelyn, tell me, what happened? Did Michael cheat?"

Delilah truly was Evelyn's best friend. She could tell something was wrong just from the change in her clothing style, and she accurately guessed that Michael had cheated.

"If you ask me, you shouldn't be a lawyer. You should do fortune-telling instead." Evelyn joked with a smile.

But Delilah couldn't smile at all.

She pulled Evelyn to a nearby café, ordered coffee for both of them, and asked about what happened.

Evelyn didn't hold back and told her everything.

Even if she didn't say it now, eventually everyone in Harmony City would know about it anyway.

After all, Michael and Elysia were the perfect couple in everyone's eyes.

Only she was the villain.

"That scumbag and homewrecker, they really are made for each other. With Michael's judgment, no wonder Elysia dumped him back then."

"Evelyn, don't be sad. I promise you, with Michael's judgment, in a few years, he'll be kicked out of his position as CEO of the Johnson Group, and then Elysia will dump him again. After being dumped enough times, he'll finally realize what kind of trash he fell for. And what a huge mistake it was to betray you."

"When that time comes, let him come crying and begging. But you must never soften. A scumbag like him deserves to be unloved forever."

Delilah grabbed Evelyn's arm worriedly.

Evelyn smiled at her: "Don't worry, I've already signed the divorce agreement."

"You did the right thing. A dirty man should be thrown away immediately, and money that belongs to you should be held tight in your hands."

Seeing that Evelyn's spirits weren't great—clearly she had come to terms with it but hadn't fully moved on—Delilah suggested: "Such a happy occasion as your divorce, shouldn't you treat your best friend, me, to some crazy shopping?"

"Of course."

Delilah and Evelyn hit it off, and after finishing their coffee, they started hitting up all the major shopping centers in Harmony City.

...

Michael was in a very bad mood.

He didn't know if it was because of Evelyn's reckless behavior last night or the divorce agreement she handed him this morning.

Or maybe it was because Evelyn, who used to text him every day to check on him, had been silent all day today.

Rarely having a free afternoon, he invited some friends out.

When Elysia heard about it, she came too, wearing a form-fitting slip dress.

As soon as she appeared, Michael's friends all called out, "Michael, your wife is here."

Elysia graciously accepted this, waving at them to not be shy and just have fun.

Michael held his cue stick, clearing balls at the pool table. One by one, the balls went into the pockets, but his face remained grim.

"Michael, are you in a bad mood today?"

Elysia walked over with a glass of red wine, her body softly leaning against Michael: "Did Evelyn make you angry again? That's just how Evelyn is. For my sake, don't stoop to her level."

In the past, when Elysia said things like this, he always thought it was because Elysia was too kind-hearted. No matter what Evelyn did, she always tried to make excuses for herself.

But now...

When Evelyn peeled shrimp for her at the dinner table yesterday with her injured hand, she hadn't said anything.

So why was she saying all this to him now?

Besides, were these words really excusing Evelyn?

Michael's phone rang, and his furrowed brow relaxed.

He knew it—Evelyn's talk of divorce was just said in anger.

She was just too hurt and wanted to throw a tantrum. She didn't really want to divorce him.

See, she couldn't help but text him again to check on him.

Elysia noticed the change in Michael's mood and smiled smugly: After three years, he still cared about her.

Just one sentence from her, and his mood improved so much.

Michael took out his phone.

There was indeed a text message.

But it wasn't a caring message from Evelyn. It was a bank notification about Evelyn's spending.

In the past half hour, his wife Evelyn had spent a total of $630,000 at a handbag store, jewelry store, and clothing store.

Another text came in.

"Dear VVIP customer, you spent $260,000 at Cloudscape Club today at 7:12 PM."

Elysia curiously leaned over to look.

When she saw the content of the message, she exclaimed in surprise: "Is Evelyn... is she trying to max out your credit card? How can she spend so much money?"

"And this Cloudscape Club..."

"Michael, that's a famous male escort club in Harmony City. They have endless tricks to seduce women. They say that even women with the best relationships with their husbands, once they enter this club, can't resist the male escorts' temptations and completely fall into their arms."

"Evelyn... she wouldn't really betray you and find male escorts at this club, would she? And judging by the amount spent, Evelyn... she must have gotten at least ten male escorts."

Michael pressed his lips tightly together, almost crushing the phone in his hand.

"Evelyn, if you dare to cheat, I will never let you get away with it!"
