Chapter 4 Get Away From Her!

The air between them thickened. He was teasing her, she knew that, but it didn’t stop the heat rising to her face.

“Y-you should put on a shirt,” she muttered.

“Not shorts hmm? You must like what you see." He smirked but she met him with an eye twitch. How could one person be so cocky?

Despite the situation, she didn't feel as threatened as she had with Dylan and his lackey. She knew he was trying to push her into a corner just to prove his point.

"Besides..." Enzo went on. "You seem interested.”

Her mouth fell open. “I am not—”

He arched a brow. “Then stop staring.”

She tried. She really did. But her eyes betrayed her, I mean how could she look away when this fullness of a man just stood unabashedly before her flaunting how blessed he was and how he was one of Mother Nature’s favourites thus she favoured him so much. And then she saw it, movement. Her jaw dropped.

“Oh my God,” she blurted. “It’s… It’s growing.”

Enzo blinked, then barked a laugh, low and deep. “It’s simple biology, sweetheart. They call it an erection.”

She couldn’t fathom what had aroused him in such an awkward situation, but something clearly had. “You’re disgusting.”

He chuckled and finally grabbed the sweatpants and shrugged them on. The muscles in his arms flexed. Grace swallowed, somehow she was sad to see his natural goods disappear inside those pants but she looked down and let her hair cover her flaming face, her heart was refusing to calm down.

“What happened to me?” she asked after a long silence.

He didn’t answer right away. When he did, his voice was thoughtful. “You lost control, Grace.”

The way he said her name made her skin prickle.

She looked up at him and quickly looked back down when she saw him watching her. “I didn’t know you knew my name.”

He watched her for a moment longer, then nodded slowly, as if making a silent decision. “I do want to keep you here until I figure out your threat level.”

“What? No, I can’t stay here.”

“You can, and you will.”

She glared at him, but he didn’t spare another glance, instead, his gaze turned toward the door which was forcefully kicked open.

Maddox, her childhood friend and closest at that, stood at the doorway, eyes wild, chest heaving. His gaze swept over the room, landing on Grace first, where she was sitting in Enzo’s bed, hair messy, blanket clutched to her chest. And then on Enzo, standing there chest displayed, damp hair almost covering his eyes in a pose that made it seem like he was about to pull out his cock and shove it in Grace’s face.

For a split second, no one moved.

Then Maddox’s voice broke the silence, rough and sharp. “What the hell did you do to her?”

Enzo’s lips pressed together and with an infuriating sigh, he mumbled. “Oh, not another misunderstanding…”

And Maddox lunged at him.
