Chapter 4 Four

CHAPTER FOUR:

Lilith

I had been in this cage for how many hours?

I had no idea at this point. Just trapped here in the darkness, with no way to get out of the locked cage and traumatized by the echoes of my own cries.

“You made us ruin our car, little demon. We might just have to punish you.”

I nearly scoffed at that statement. I did not make them do anything. All I ever did was fall asleep, literally.

But I did not get to scoff.

No, what happened was way worse and I will never forget the first lesson: never fall asleep when you are in the lion’s den.

When they said that I had to be punished, I thought that they were bluffing. I was stupid to think that those two devil twins would ever be bluffing.

But I learned the hard way.

Travis pushed me to the ground and forced my head up to look at him. “Open your mouth,” he said, and I just kept shaking my head, crying.

The next thing that I felt was a hard slap right across my face that sent me flying to the ground.

I spat out the metallic, tangy blood that filled my mouth from the force of his hit.

Crying was no use anymore. I tried to hold back my tears since I realized the hard way that it would only make things worse.

Travis dragged me back up by my hair, tugging painfully at the roots until I was kneeling upright again.

“I hate repeating myself now, little demon. I told you to open your damn mouth.”

I shakily opened my mouth and closed my eyes, scared of what would possibly happen next.

“Look him in the eye,” I heard Ryan’s calm voice.

He had taken a step back to enjoy the fun while he watched his brother do all the dirty work.

That was why I felt that he was more scary than his brother. At least Travis was honest about the fact that he was a destruction waiting to happen.

But Ryan, he was as cool as the ocean, but that was all lies, deceiving you enough so that you never knew that he was a raging tsunami until it was too late.

But I know people like him too well and I would never fall for that.

I opened my eyes and stared into his wicked ones.

He spat directly into my mouth.

I don’t know what else I expected when he said open your mouth, but this was disgusting.

I gagged and turned to spit but he held me in place. “Swallow it,” his warning was clear.

And I forced his thick spit down my throat.

He tapped my cheek twice with his hand like he was rewarding a dog. “Good girl, little demon.”

Ryan motioned to the door. “We can go inside now,” he said.

I moved to stand up but Travis forced me back down. “Who said you can stand up, hmm?”

“D-do y-you w-want me to c-crawl?” I asked with a shaky voice, and his eyes glittered with excitement. “Now aren’t you a smart one, little demon,” he said.

There was no time to think. I forced myself down to my hands and knees and began crawling. Travis and Ryan fell a step behind me and I could feel the weight of their gaze on my backside.

Tears of embarrassment burned at my eyelids.

They were not the only ones here. There were over a hundred guards and all their eyes were trained on me.

I hated this.

I hated them. So, so much.

“Heidi, I see your eyes on her again then I will be sure to rip out your damn eyeballs,” I heard Travis’s gruff voice.

“Yes, boss,” a shaky voice replied.

If not for my predicament I would have scoffed. He did not care about me in the slightest. No, to him it was more of a control thing and nothing to do with protecting my dignity.

If it was about that I never would have been put in this situation in the first place.

At least the ground was not rough. I was at least grateful for that.

The short crawl to the front door felt like I was walking to an entire state by foot. And by the time I finally reached the front door I was panting like a dog and dripping with sweat.

Travis landed a sharp swat to my backside.

“Well, that wasn’t too hard, was it now, little demon?” he said mockingly.

I did not reply.

What do I even say to that? These two were really creepy and I planned to stay as far away from them as possible if ever I had anything to do with it.

Because if I am being really honest with myself, I doubt I have much of a choice.

“Now we prepared a room for you, little demon,” Ryan said.

And I knew better than to be excited. It was probably another trap again and I was right.

I crawled to the front of the door of a random room at the end of a dark corridor and I was forced into this cage and the door locked.

“Please let me out,” I said, banging on the door.

“We had a much nicer room for you, devil princess, but you just had to be bad today so this is still a punishment.”

There he goes again, gaslighting me into thinking that I did anything wrong.

How was I naughty, what did I do?

But in this moment I did not care about all of that. My fear had gotten the better part of me and I just wanted to be out of here.

“Please Travis, Ryan, I am sorry. Just let me out. I will never be bad again,” I begged.

Ryan tsked. “You keep making mistakes, Lilith. Who said that you could call us by our names?” he said softly, shaking his head.

I said the next words without thinking much. “Please, masters, I am sorry.”

Ryan nodded, satisfied. “Not yet, but you will be,” he said.

My eyes widened. “No, no, no please don’t leave me here.”

“Let’s go, brother,” he said to Travis, ignoring me.

“With pleasure.”

They both left, locking the door behind them and leaving me alone and trapped in this cage.

Everywhere was dark.

I was scared.

But I knew that this was just the beginning.
