Chapter 206
Carol’s POV
I walked out of the bathroom; I was dressed for training in a workout tank top and a pair of yoga pants. I towel-dried my hair which was still wet from my morning shower before throwing the towel in the hamper.
My phone was plugged into the charger on my nightstand and when it flashed to life, I saw that there was a text message from Aiden sitting on the screen.
I swiped the screen and brought up the message, smiling at his words.
Aiden: Plane just landed; I’ll be seeing you soon.
My heart swelled at his words, and I pressed the button to reply.
Me: I can’t wait to see you. I’ll be in training, but you can get settled into the suite and we will see each other after I’m done.
I put the phone back on the nightstand when I heard a knocking sound coming from the door. I went to the door and looked through the peephole to see that Alice had returned. Before my shower, she came to offer me some breakfast and coffee. I wasn’t very hungry this morning and I didn’t want to have any caffeine considering I’m pregnant, so she suggested some tea for the morning.
I accepted and she went to get it while I took a shower. As I looked in the peephole, I noticed she was carrying a platter with a mug of tea and a ton of different assortments of sweeteners and something that looked like milk, or maybe cream.
She was very thoughtful, and I smiled as I opened the bedroom door.
“I brought you the tea, madam,” she said, stepping into the room.
I sighed and ran my fingers through my wet hair.
“I told you to call me, Carol,” I reminded her.
She blushed at my words and bowed her head slightly.
“My apologies, Carol,” she said softly. “I’m not used to a royal wanting to be called by their given name.”
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.
“I’m not a royal,” I told her.
“You are the King’s daughter,” she reminded me, raising her boys. “You are certainly a royal.”
“I don’t feel like a royal,” I admitted.
She frowned as she sat the tea on the table across the room and then she turned to me. “
“Perhaps that’ll change during your time here,” she said sweetly. “The King seems to care for you a lot.”
“Maybe,” I said, glancing at the tea on the table.
“I wasn’t sure what you liked in your tea, so I brought an assortment of everything,” she said, motioning for the tea set on the table. “It’s lavender, so it’ll be calming and it’s good for the baby. You should drink it.”
“That’s very kind of you, Alice,” I told her, walking over to the tea and looking into the pretty teacup. The tea was dark, and it smelled so good; it was already making me feel calmer. “It smells nice.”
She nodded, her eyes lighting up.
“It’s my favorite blend,” she told me. “Is there anything else I can do for you while I’m in here?”
I shook my head.
“No, I’m alright,” I assured her. “I’m going to get to training soon and then I’ll see Aiden.”
“I’ll keep an eye out for him and then bring him to your suite,” she assured me. “I ran into the princess earlier so I’m going to see if she needs anything this morning before I start on the rest of my chores.”
I nodded and watched as she walked out of the room.
I sighed and sat at the table, still staring at the tea. It did smell good, and I knew I needed to put something into my stomach for the sake of my unborn baby.
Grabbing the teacup, I brought it to my lips. I blew gently before taking a sip. It was delicious without anything added to it, so I took an even bigger sip. I still had some time before I needed to meet with Bennet, so I took the cup and walked over to the couch on the far side of the room. I curled up and continued to take slow and steady sips of the hot liquid.
I could feel the warmth spreading across my features, warming my face. I placed the mug on the coffee table and relaxed for a few minutes. My head was feeling a bit heavy, so I leaned back on the couch and rested it on the cushion. I stared up at the ceiling, warmth pulsating around my entire body and between my legs. It was a strange tickle that I couldn’t quite shake. I realized that the room was spinning, and I was starting to feel a bit lightheaded.
My body was feeling incredibly heavy, and my breathing turned manual. It was as if I couldn’t control my body functions any longer and I had to work extra hard to make it work properly. I lifted my head, though it took everything I had in me to make that happen and I stared at the cup on the coffee table.
Something didn’t feel right to me; something was definitely wrong.
My vision grew spotty and that warm feeling that wracked my body seemed to be growing even more intense. It was almost to a point where it was painful; I was itching for relief, though I wasn’t sure what kind of relief my body needed.
I dug my fingers into the cushion of the couch and rubbed my legs together, trying to soothe my aching body but to no prevail. I needed Aiden to get here right now and help me before I completely lost my mind.
A small whimper escaped my lips.
What was going on with me?
The footsteps behind me made my entire body freeze, though I couldn’t move to turn around other than wiggling in place.
Could it be Aiden?
“Looks like you’re already ready for me,” I deep and unfamiliar voice said from nearby.
My body trembled and the voice sounded as if it was echoing; I blinked a few times, trying to get a grasp on the spinning room and distorted imagery in front of me. Then I saw him… a stranger was in my suite.
He didn’t look like anyone I had ever seen before; he was an older gentleman with cracked and yellow teeth; his beady blue eyes were growing darker by the second and his hair was long and greasy; he had it pulled back into a low pony. He wore clothing that looked decent enough, but they also looked as if they hadn’t been washed in a long time.
“You’re even more beautiful than I imagined,” he said in a low and husky tone.
I opened my mouth to speak, but I realized I was unable to actually speak. My mouth wasn’t functioning like normal.
Was I drugged?
“Oh, I’m going to have a lot of fun with you,” he said, sniffing the air as if he was smelling the most incredible thing in the world. His eyes grew yellow, and I knew at that moment his wolf was fighting for control; he was a werewolf, and I was his prey.
I saw his teeth elongating as he took careful steps towards me. He reached his hand over to me and ran his fingers down the side of my face; I tried to flinch away, but the sudden movement only made me dizzier, and I found myself slipping down from the couch and accidently moving closer to him.
He let out a low growl and before I knew what was happening, his arms were around my waist, and he was lifting me back onto the couch. My body was no longer functioning, and I was hot all over. The heat that coursed through me was almost too much for me to handle and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do.
“I can smell your desires,” he whispered against my ear, making me tremble uncontrollably.
My desires? What was he talking about? The last thing I was feeling towards him was desires, and yet, my body seemed to be saying the opposite. It was as if my body suddenly had a mind of its own and it was begging to be touched.
It didn’t care by who, it just wanted relief.
The stranger buried his face in the nape of my neck and inhaled deeply, then he let out a shuddering breath just before I felt the fabrics of my clothing ripping beneath the claws of his wolf. I felt one of his nails digging into the flesh of my arm; my vision was growing even spottier and my body even heavier. There was no use, I couldn’t fight him off; not even when he pressed his entire body into me and attempted to get me naked.
I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t fight; I couldn’t do anything besides lie there helplessly.
A tear escaped the corner of my eye and ran down my heated cheek. I felt so helpless; just as he reached for my yoga pants and I felt them sliding down my legs, the stranger was suddenly ripped away from me and thrown across the room. I heard a loud growl and then the sounds of clashing and fighting.
I also heard a female screaming and crying. I couldn’t lift my head to see what was going on, but I knew the sound of that growl.
It was Aiden!
