Chapter 4 Four
Tessa's POV
I flinch at the sound of his loud voice and at the way he came out of nowhere.
Rolling my eyes, I make a move to bypass and go into our shared room but his tight grip on my arm pulls me back.
"I asked you a question." His eyes flash and zero in on what I'm wearing. "Whose coat is that?"
It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that the coat I have on belongs in the body of a man. The coat is two size too bag and is about sweeping the ground.
"Not of your business," I bite out and pull my arm out of his grip.
"It's my fucking business. My girlfriend comes in after a night out and she's wearing what is obviously a man's coat." He throws him arms up in the air. "So forgive me if I want to know who the man is that she spent the night with."
I don't even try to deny his accusations. He hit it spot on. My silence just aggravates him though and his nose flares.
"Why aren't you saying anything? Did you really spend the night with a man?"
"Yes, I did," I simply state and watch as his face turns bright right. Now that I think of it, has his chin always been that ugly?
"You slut!" He spits out. "You kept telling me that you were waiting for the perfect time and now, you're telling me that you cheated on me." He scoffs as he looks at me with disgust. "I'm sure you weren't even a virgin."
Anger coils up my spine and my fingers curls into fist. "Fuck you," I bite out and his eyes widen in surprise. "You're a goddamn hypocrite. I cheated on you?!" I scoff, amused at his audacity. "I saw you on top of Sandra in your office."
His face goes white and he actually has the dignity to look ashamed but then it's gone in the next second. "Whose fault it that?" He lips morphs into a sardonic smirk that I've never seen before. "You kept telling me that you weren't really to put out and I'm a red blooded male. Did you really think that I was just going to wait around for you to be ready?"
I gasp in astonishment and wonder what I have ever since in Luke to make me decide to date him. The person I thought I loved or at least admired greatly has transformed into this disgusting creature in front of me.
Two hour's later.
My luggages and one carry on bag are in the living room of Anna's house because I can't bear to stay one more night in that house with Luke.
"He what?" Anna hollers from her position beside me on the couch.
"He said that it was my fault he cheated," I repeat dryly.
"That bastard!" She exclaims and bolts up from her seat like she's actually considering going over to my previous apartment to go and give Luke a piece of his mind.
I hold her hand and drag her back seat. "He isn't worth it."
She sighs but leans back on the couch and pulls me into her arms. "What are you going to do now? Do you want to room with me?" He sounds excited at that prospect but I can't just barrade my way into her life. She needs her space.
"No," I shake my head. "I'll figure it out but I'm going to need to stay here for a while," I softly say. I could choose to go back to my parents house but I'm not ready for the 'I told you so'. My parents didn't approve of my moving in with Luke, but like an idiot, I thought I knew better.
"You can stay here for as long as you want. I would love to have you here and it will be fun. It will be like college again."
I smile at that. Rooming with her during college were one of the fun years of my life but we aren't in college anymore.
"I appreciate that but I won't stay here for long. Hopefully, I'll nail that job interview on Monday and move into another apartment with my first pay check." I've been trying to get a job at Mile company for year. They run the biggest newspaper and it has been my dreams to secure a job there. Hopefully, I'll nail the interview that I have next week Monday.
"When you found out about his cheating, why didn't you call me? I would have brought over some ice cream and cookies for us to stuff our faces on." She pulls away from our hug and gives me a questioning look. "Besides, where did you even go to?"
I swallow and her head tilts to the side as her eyes narrow.
"Tessa..." She draws out. "What did you do?"
"I lost my virginity," I rush out but it doesn't matter because she heard me loud and clear.
A scream tears out of her and I cover my ears with a wince.
"Who is he? Where did you meet him? How did you meet him?" All her questions rush out in wave and I sigh as I go over everything that happened that night. I end the story by retelling how I snuck out of his house the next morning.
Anna brows furrow. "You just left without even getting his normal?"
I roll my eyes. "It wouldn't be a one night stand if I did that, would it?" I ask sarcastically.
"Wow." Her eyes are wide with surprise. "I didn't think that you had it in you? What happened to waiting for your special someone?"
"He's taking too long to show up and frankly, I got tired of waiting."
She gives me a sad smile then her face brightens up mischievously. "So, how was it?"
