Chapter 59

NOLAN

Nolan’s secretary was blowing up his phone on the drive home. Just more scheduling problems. Work problems.

He turned his phone off and gave it to Yena to put in her purse. Then he told her to scoot closer to him.

She slid over.

He reached in through the slit in the skirt. His rough fingertips caught on her delicate nylon stockings. They were thigh-high and had a little band of lace at the top.

Nolan’s fingers reached the top of the stocking and made contact with her skin.

He pushed his hand carefully between her thighs.

Yena closed her eyes and shivered.

With his other hand, Nolan moved her face to angle it toward his.

He whispered, “Open your eyes.”

She blinked her big blue eyes open, and he stared into them.

They were pulling up to the palace quickly, though. Nolan licked his fingers clean and dried them on a handkerchief he produced from his jacket pocket. Yena shimmied her gown back into place.

Back in their suite, Nolan walked Yena to their bedside. He unzipped the length of her gown carefully and started inching it down her body.

She kissed his neck while he was unzipping her. Then bit at it playfully.

Nolan’s heart started pounding.

He gave up on saving the dress.

He ripped it off her, tearing it into pieces.

Yena smiled at him. She was naked except for the lace-topped stockings and her high heels.

He grabbed her by the hair and pulled her head back. She went limp in his arms and he picked her up easily.

He loved how she did that. Let him do whatever he pleased with her body. It showed how much she trusted him.

He walked over to the bed and threw her down onto it.

Then Nolan undressed slowly. Keeping his eyes on hers.

He climbed into bed and pulled Yena by the legs to move her down away from the pillows.

Then he sat back on his heels and pulled her up into his lap. She spread her legs and sat down into him slowly, inch by inch.

Nolan fingered the lace stockings while pushing her hips down against his. He started out playing with the fabric gently, tearing little holes into the lace that he slipped his fingers into, and bouncing her on his lap lightly.

Then he pulled harder at the stockings, using them like cords to pull at Yena’s thick thighs and making her squeal with pleasure and pain. And pumping her harder against him.

Soon she was on her back. Nolan was ripping the stockings off her legs in little pieces of torn lace. And she was calling out his name, getting weak and wobbly.

He held her in his arms with a hard, desperate grip, and grew stronger every second their bodies were locked together. He came when he couldn’t hold on any longer, and she went with him.

YENA

“Your birthday is coming up,” I said. I had my head cradled comfortably in the crook of Nolan’s shoulder, and was running my fingers through his chest hair.

He made a Mm-hmm sound.

“So I was wondering,” I continued, “if there was anything you want for a birthday gift?”

He gave me a wicked look and raised his eyebrows.

“Not that,” I said, rolling my eyes. “I mean, you can have that too, but I meant an actual present. What can I get for the man who already has everything?”

His eyes narrowed. I got the feeling he didn’t love that I called him that.

“Nothing?” I probed. “There has to be something I can get or do or make for you.”

I guess that gave him an idea.

“My mother is throwing me that party,” he said. “Maybe you can make me a custom suit to wear to it.”

I sat up to look him in the eye and said, “I would love to do that.” As calmly as I could.

Nolan smiled.

I was elated, but trying to act cool.

The fact that Nolan would wear something I made, to such a public event. It spoke volumes.

I had never made a man’s suit before. But I had no doubt I could do it. It was just a pattern to construct.

I smiled, thinking about what a fun challenge it would be. Making a giant, beautiful suit for a giant, beautiful man.

Nolan trusted me.

He said that to me the other day, up in the tower. Of course, at that time there really wasn’t much he could do but trust me to take care of things. When he had no other options.

But this was different.

The look he was giving me, too. It made my heart flutter.

He adores you, Lily whispered in the back of my mind.

You are his whole world.

That was the moment that I knew. I felt totally sure. That Lily was right about Nolan and had been all along.

Nolan did love me.

He was just too proud to tell me so.

Tell him that you love him first!

I closed my eyes to concentrate. I trusted Lily. But I also wanted her to shut up.

The wolf was an animal. What Lily wanted me to do was simple. Primal and straightforward.

But my relationship with Nolan was more complicated than that.

The sex was simple. That part was easy.

But everything else…

There was too much stuff going unsaid between us. Too many things up in the air.

It would only complicate everything even more to talk about love.

“What do you think about starting up fencing lessons again?” Nolan asked.

I grinned, grateful for the subject change. “I would love that, too.”

“Great,” he said. “Could you still stay up late, and do it after I’m done with work?”

Just thinking about being back in that room with him. Late at night, and all alone.

I was suddenly wet.

He met my eyes and I saw that he was thinking about the same thing.

“Yeah,” I said. “Late night fencing lessons sound perfect.”

My voice came out all breathy.

Nolan shifted his weight, turning his body toward mine. He waited to see if I wanted to do it again.

I slid down under the sheet with him and rolled into his arms.

Then we were back to doing what we do best. Blocking out the world and just being together.

We made out and made love slowly. He was being sweet, petting me and calling me beautiful.

I told him to bite me.

He studied my face for a few seconds. Then gave me another intense, deep kiss.

And bit into my lip slowly.

I tasted blood right away.

He sucked on my lip like he needed that blood to survive. And licked clean every drop that had dripped down my chin and neck.

And with that, Nolan was back in full force.

Finally the aura of stress and strain he’d been carrying around all week, was just gone.

The air in the room felt lighter.

Nolan’s muscular arms glistened with the shimmer of healthy sweat. He smiled his big, real smile. The one I think he only let me see.

Lily was about to start whining again. Telling me to confess my love.

I visualized locking her into a cage.

I just couldn’t do it. Not yet.
