Chapter 119
Erin’s POV
Gavin ran his fingers down my body as he kissed my neck with a heated passion. My entire body felt like it was about to be engulfed in flames from how hot I was.
I wanted him so badly, but this mission was way too important.
I also really wanted to remain respectful to Henry, knowing that he was at our home, waiting for my updates.
“Wait…” I said breathlessly as I pressed the palm of my hand against his incredible chest.
He stopped kissing me, but only for a moment. He kissed my lips gently, biting at my bottom lip and bringing it into his mouth. I could feel his manhood growing hard with each passing moment. He was getting hungrier too.
“You’ve been sweating. I can smell it on you. You should take a shower first,” I said between his kisses.
“I’ll take one after,” he said in a low and incredibly sexy tone; it made my heart flip in my chest.
“I’d prefer to have my way with you clean,” I said, wiggling my brows at him.
He rose his brows and stared around my face for a moment; I could see the playfulness and desires in his eyes.
“Shower with me.”
“What?” I gasped, hardly believing what he was suggesting.
“You heard me,” he said seductively as he grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the bathroom on the other side of the room.
The mission was suddenly gone from my mind, and I found myself going with him to the bathroom, willingly.
Once we were inside, he was already turning on the shower, and I watched as steam formed from the hot water and filled the bathroom, fogging the mirrors and clouding my vision.
Gavin was stripping off the rest of his clothes, standing before me in all his glory and it was certainly a glorious view.
I found my eyes wandering to his lower region and I bit my bottom to keep myself from whimpering.
He grabbed the bottom of my blouse and lifted it over my head, throwing it to the ground.
“I didn’t rip it this time,” he said with a light laugh.
I couldn’t help the smile on my lips as he began to unbutton my incredibly tight jeans. I wore them in hopes that it wouldn’t be quite as easy to access, however, he was able to remove them with ease.
My underpants came off with them.
I didn’t feel as shy around him being naked; it wasn’t anything he hadn’t seen before.
He wrapped his arms around me and continued to kiss down the nape of my neck and across my shoulder blades as he lifted me off the ground and onto the sink.
Soon, I was feeling his erection inside of me. It was electrifying and I couldn’t seem to get enough of him. I tugged at his hair gently, pulling him away from my neck so that I could kiss his lips.
I hungrily kissed him like I was parched, and he was the last sip of water.
My tongue explored his mouth curiously, making itself at home and he seemed to be loving every moment of it.
He thrust himself inside of me, causing me to moan and gasp in pleasure.
Soon, he was lifting me off the counter and toward the waiting shower.
We were engulfed in hot water and steam. As if I wasn’t burning up enough. Now, I was scorched.
But I didn’t mind it.
As long as Gavin was here, I would walk through torches of fire.
The water soaked our bodies, and I couldn’t tell if we were sweating or not. He pressed me hard against the shower wall, thrusting quickly and moaning into my ear.
“I can’t get enough of you,” he whispered huskily.
I ran my fingers through his wet hair, massaging his head as he continued to kiss and thrust himself into me.
He stopped kissing me for a moment to grab a bar of soap that sat on the ledge, and I could see the humor in his eyes.
“Want to wash me?”
I rose my brows, but I couldn’t help the smile on my lips. I grabbed the soap without saying anything and ran it across his broad chest, running it down his torso and watching as the soap streaks turn into suds as it mixed with the falling water.
I ran the bar of soap across his shoulders and then ran my fingers across him as well to lather the soap even more.
The soap was causing his skin to become incredibly soft.
He closed his eyes and breathed deeply as I ran the soap across the top of his head and used my slender fingers to lather the soap throughout his hair. He leaned down and kissed me on the lips, shoving his tongue into my mouth and taking me in.
I put the soap back on the ledge and watched as the water rinsed away the suds that occupied his body. He pressed me against the wall again and thrust even harder into me.
It didn’t take much longer for me to reach my climax and once I did, he did as well.
Once again, we remained pressed against one another, with our foreheads together, aiming to catch our breath.
“We should get out of the shower before we turn into raisins,” Gavin suggested.
I nodded quickly, allowing him to help me out of the shower. My legs were weak and quivering still from that incredible orgasm.
He wrapped a soft and clean towel around my naked body and ran his hand down the side of my face. He looked at me in such a way that nearly made me forget my own name.
“We can pick up where we left off in my bed,” he said, a playful smile on his lips as he grabbed my hand and pulled me into his room.
He turned to face me and started to kiss me once again. He wanted to do this again and I wanted to let him.
But I couldn’t.
I had to get out of this room.
I already failed at trying to find information in his bedroom while he showered. I needed to try again another time.
I put my hand on his chest to stop him from kissing me any further.
He frowned at me, narrowing his eyes, he asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I should go back to the guest room and get some sleep,” I said, stepping away from him.
“You can sleep in here.”
“Probably not a good idea,” I said as I went to grab my blouse and jeans.
“Not a good idea? Why is that?”
“Because people will get the wrong idea about us,” I said, looking over at his very confused and adorable face.
“The wrong idea? I’m not understanding. What exactly is this to you?”
I frowned at the question.
“You are helping me get my mind off my failed marriage,” I said with a shrug. “I needed the distraction, and you are available. I appreciate the help, but I don’t want anyone talking about this.”
“That’s what this is to you? Just a distraction?” He asked; he couldn’t even hide the hurt in his tone, and it painfully tugged at my heart.
“My marriage just ended Gavin—”
“You were never married,” he interrupted. “You can’t possibly be that sad about something that wasn’t real.”
“I loved him,” I said firmly. “He was my best friend and the man I chose to be with. It hurts knowing he doesn’t want me. I felt undesirable and not good enough. But you are here, and you make me feel desirable. There’s nothing wrong in having a little fun to distract myself.”
He was quiet as he processed what I had just said.
“I hope you didn’t get the wrong idea. I’m sorry if you did,” I told him gently.
“You’ve made yourself perfectly clear,” he muttered, stepping away from me.
I hurt him. I knew this. But I needed my mind to be focused on the mission. I couldn’t keep getting distracted like this.
I needed to focus on proving his innocence.
He didn’t stop me from leaving his room. I went into the hallway and with a heavy heart, I walked back toward my room.
I didn’t get far though because soon an arm was wrapping around my face, covering my mouth, and another arm was wrapping around my body, keeping me still. It happened so fast; I didn’t have the time to react.
The next thing I knew, I was being shoved into a dark closet and I stumbled against the wall once I was released.
The door of the closet slammed shut, closing me in the dark room without any vision.
I was being shoved against the wall with force and I felt the presence of a man, pressing himself against me and pinning me to the wall.
“I know you are snooping around the palace and trying to find information on Alpha Gavin. What are your intentions?” The man hissed in a low and threatening tone.
My heart fell into my stomach as realization dawned on me.
“Beta Seth?”
