Chapter 149

Gavin’s POV

Gavin stood at the end of the aisle, which was located in the gardens of Gavin’s pack. The gardens were one of the most beautiful landmarks in the werewolf territory and Erin requested the wedding be held there considering it was just outside the chapel.

Gavin didn’t care where they got married, as long as Erin was with him.

Jill walked down the aisle with Beta Seth followed by a couple more bridesmaids and groomsmen from the pack.

Soon, it would be Kelsey and Tyler, the best man and maid of honor.

Then, it would be Erin.

His Erin.

The thought filled him with so much joy; Roman could hardly wait to see his mate after days of barely seeing her.

The music was playing loudly and the doors to the chapel remained closed.

Kelsey and Tyler were supposed to walk through the doors by now.

What was keeping them?

Gavin envisioned his best man being drunk and Kelsey trying to sober him up. The thought annoyed Gavin but then he figured that wouldn’t happen. Tyler wasn’t stupid enough for that.

Minutes continued passing and everyone began looking around confused.

Even the pianist was getting quieter.

“Something wrong,” Gavin observed, looking over at Jill who was also looking worried.

He looked back at the church doors and straightened his stance. He began to walk down the aisle to everyone’s shock and dismay. He heard the whispers as he walked by, but he ignored them.

He kept his eyes locked on the door and decided to not address anyone just yet.

He pushed open the doors to see Kelsey and Tyler standing over a sobbing Erin. She was stripped out of her dress and wore a long T-shirt that covered most of her body, ending just above her knees.

Sher hair was falling out if it’s nicely done, curly, updo. Makeup was staining her face from her tears and her entire body was trembling.

Oddly enough, she looked incredibly beautiful to him.

“It’s okay,” Kelsey breathed. “Maybe it’s fixable.”

“What’s going on?” Gavin asked, staring at Erin with worry.

“Gavin…” she cried. “Don’t look at me… I look awful…”

“Don’t say that,” Kelsey scolded. She took Erin’s hair down from the pins that held it in place, and it went wildly around her shoulders.

She grabbed a few tissues from her bag and began to clean the smudged makeup.

“It’s not that bad… once Theo comes back with the dress it’ll be even better.”

“What happened with the dress?” Gavin asked, staring at all of them and waiting for them to give him some sort of answer.

“She threw up on it, dude,” Tyler laughed and then he grimaced. “It was gross.”

“Theo is currently cleaning it. Or at least trying to,” Kelsey added.

Gavin’s heart fell into his stomach, morning sickness.

“How are you feeling now? Has a doctor been called?”

“She won’t let us call a doctor,” Kelsey sighed.

“Because I don’t need one,” Erin said, standing to her feet. “I’m fine. It was just morning sickness. But I’m feeling fine now,” she said, peering up at him.

“I’m sorry for delaying the wedding. But once Theo can get the vomit stain out then I’ll—”

Before she even finished her sentence, Gavin was scooping her into his arms and cradling her like he was a baby.

She made a yelping noise out of fear because she didn’t expect the quick motion, but once she realized what she was doing, she started to chuckle.

“Gavin!” She gasped. “What are you doing?”

“Marrying my best friend,” he said in return, and too much of her shock, he bust through the chapel doors that lead down the aisle.

Everybody gasped when they saw Gavin carrying Erin, who wasn’t dressed at all for a wedding.

He didn’t care though; he cared nothing for what they might say. He heard the flashing of the cameras as the press made their way into the venue to capture the big event.

Erin’s face was completely red; he knew she was incredibly embarrassed. He smiled down at her and gave her a quick reassuring wink just as he made it to the front of the aisle.

He released his hold on her, allowing her to stand in front of everybody.

They all gasped again once they saw her true appearance.

She looked up at Gavin and he wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close.

“I know this isn’t what you all expected, but this is genuine. This is the woman I fell in love with. This is my mate. The mother of my child. This is the future Luna of my pack,” Gavin said loudly for everyone to hear. “I could postpone this wedding until her dress is cleaned and ready, but I don’t want to waste another minute not being married to this woman.”

There was silence for only a moment before everyone started applauding.

Gavin caught a glimpse of a smile on Erin’s face.

Erin’s POV

Everything was perfect.

Well, besides the dress situation and the fact that I got married in nothing but a long t-shirt, and looked like I just crawled out of bed after a night of partying.

But Gavin didn’t make me feel like anything less than perfect. The way he looked at me was with such love and admiration.

The gardens were filled with the most beautiful assortment of colored flowers. It was so bright and beautiful. It was also an incredibly beautiful night; it wasn’t too warm, but it wasn’t cold either. There also wasn’t a cloud in the sky so the stars and the moon lit up the gardens, shining their gorgeous rays on my wedding.

We stood at the flower arch, which was placed specially for this wedding, and Gavin had my hands in his.

“Today, I am not only obtaining a Luna for my pack, but I am also gaining a wife. Erin, I have loved you for as long as I can remember and those days, we were apart were completely devastating. It’s not something I would ever want to go through again. I love you more than anything. As your Alpha, I ask that you accept this ring symbolizing our marriage and your new title as Luna.”

I held my hand out for him to slip the silver band around my finger; it had both of our initials engraved in silver.

“Yes,” I answered. “I accept you as my Alpha, Gavin Pierce, and I accept the role of Luna of your pack.”

He smiled broadly as he leaned down to kiss me. His kiss was sweet at first, but then it grew hungry and filled with desires.

I wanted to pull away, because we had an audience, but part of me couldn’t bring myself to pull away.

The applause and cheering only intensified the longer the kiss went on.

I wrapped my arms around him just as he paused the kiss on my lips and started to kiss down my neck.

I ran my fingers through his hair and pulled at the collar of my shirt until my shoulder was revealed.

“Mark me…” I ordered him, meeting his eyes. “Mark me as yours.”

He was quiet for only a beat, but then I saw the excitement in his eyes as he revealed his sharp canine. His wolf was coming through and was ready to mark me.

I closed my eyes and felt his teeth digging into my flesh; blood trickled down my back and soaked into my shirt.

He was breathing heavily when he released me. I leaned up and kissed him again just as my wound started to heal.

“How do you feel finally being marked?!” Jill squealed, later at the reception.

Theo was able to clean my dress and make it look brand new. As soon as he brought it back to me, I put it on so I could at least wear it to the reception.

“It’s pretty intense,” I admitted. “I can feel him everywhere. Like I know where he is without actually looking at him. I know how he’s feeling… it’s like I’m a part of him.”

“You kind of are,” Jill said with a shrug. “I still can’t believe you threw up on your dress though. That’ll be a story for the ages.”

It was strange that I suddenly felt so ill; that random kick on the opposite side of the stomach threw me off for some reason. I’m so used to the baby kicking on one side of my belly, but maybe that means it’s growing a little more.

“Place your hands on your belly, Erin,” Emily said lovingly. “Don’t you feel it?”

I placed my hands on both sides of my belly and felt the fluttering of little feet on both my palms.

I gasped at the realization, just as I felt strong arms wrapping around me.

“I have one more surprise,” Gavin said with a smile.

I rose my brows at him, and he led me outside to the back patio where we could overlook the city. Having a penthouse reception in the city was definitely a good idea.

He had a long box in his hands that he pulled out of his coat.

“What did you get me?” I asked with a chuckle.

“Open it,” he said with a grin. “It’s technically for the baby.”

I opened the box and saw a beautiful, handcrafted rattle with all sorts of colors because we still don’t know the gender and probably won’t until birth.

“It’s beautiful,” I said, tears filling my eyes.

“My mom made it,” he admitted. “She wanted to make something special, and she enjoys crafts.”

I smiled widely as I put my hand back on my stomach, feeling the fluttering on both sides of my stomach, my heart felt fuller than ever.

I looked up at Gavin and through a wide smile I asked, “Do you think she can make us another one?”
