Chapter 43

Gavin’s POV

“I want every test done to find out if Susanna really was pregnant,” Gavin ordered his Beta. “I don’t want you to leave the doctor’s side during the entire process. Understood?”

“You really think Susanna would do all of this just to trap you?” Seth asked, raising his brows. “I find that hard to believe. I don’t think she’s that manipulative.”

“I don’t know what she’s capable of. But I do know that I don’t trust her. Erin has disappeared because of all of this, and I want to prove her innocent.”

“What if you find out something you don’t wish to find out?” Seth asked.

“Then, I’ll deal with it if that time comes,” Gavin said in return. “But until then, I want to find out everything I can about Susanna’s pregnancy. I think she might have paid off the doctors to forge some of the results. So, get me every test, and don’t look away for a minute.”

“Yes, Alpha,” Seth said, nodding his head.

Gavin glanced down at his phone hoping for the off chance that Erin would return his call. But as it was for the entire day, his phone remained dry. Not a single phone call or text.

He couldn’t help the worried feeling in the pit of his stomach. He knew that Susanna’s men haven’t found her yet, which was good. Maybe that’s why she was in hiding; because she knew she was being hunted and she wasn’t going to return until things blew over.

But he wasn’t going to be able to relax until he knew for certain that she was okay.

Instead of calling Erin, he decided to call Henry instead.

“You have a lot of nerve calling this number,” Henry said in a low and threatening tone.

“I didn’t call to argue; just tell me that she’s okay.”

“Why do you care? Don’t you have a girlfriend to tend to?”

“Susanna isn’t my girlfriend and she’s going to be fine. Erin is in danger, Henry.”

“You don’t think I know that?” Henry hissed. “I know more about this than you do. Believe me, Erin is better off not getting mixed in with your life. You returned to her life and now look how messy things are for her. Is that what you wanted? To mess up her life?”

“Of course, not,” Gavin said. “Just tell me that she’s okay.”

“She’s fine. No thanks to you.”

“Where is she?” Gavin asked, but even if Henry didn’t tell him, he was relieved to know that Erin was in fact okay.

“That’s for me to know and for you to never find out,” Henry said.

Gavin heard a click on the other end and then the line was disconnected.

Erin’s POV

9(th) grade of high school. This was the year that I was finally going to make something out of myself. I was out of the awkward stage of middle school and in my prime years. This was the year I was finally going to be somebody.

I stared up at the large building that would soon be my home for the next 4 years.

“Here, have some more cash just in case,” my father said from the driver’s seat of his red Porsche.

He handed me another $20 bill, on top of the $60 he had already given me.

I wasn’t sure what he thought I was going to buy, but I didn’t deny the money.

“Thank you, dad,” I said brightly, taking the cash and shoving it into my new bra.

This was my first time wearing a real bra; my breasts grew twice the size over the summer, and I was finally forming a real figure.

“Oh! I see Jessie! I got to go!” I said to him, kissing his cheek before leaving his car.

“Have a good day!” He called after me, but I was too far gone to hear him.

Jessie was waiting by a large Oaktree; her fiery red hair glistened under the rays of the sun. She had always been a bit plumper than most students and she wore bright colors. On the first day of school, she wore a bright red top and a skirt that showed off her large thighs.

She was stunning.

She gave me a bright smile when she saw me approaching.

“Erin!” She said, holding her arms out to hug me. “I can’t believe we are starting high school today! How exciting is this?”

“Incredibly exciting,” I agreed with a laugh.

She draped her arm through mine and we began walking toward the large brick building on the other side of the plush green field.

All around us, students of different ages and sizes were walking in the same direction with their own friends. Everybody seemed to be in their own clicks, and they all had their own styles.

Only briefly, I spotted cheerleaders and dancers, I spotted nerds and geeks, I spotted gamers and skateboarders, I spotted goths, and then I spotted the jocks. They were wrestling and tackling one another, laughing like there wasn’t a care in the world.

This was going to be my time to shine.

I was determined to find the clique that I belonged to and rule this school as the queen bee and not just because my father was incredibly rich and everybody knew who he was.

As soon as they find out who my father is, they are going to want to be my friend. But that’s not what I want. I want to make friends on my own terms and work to get to the top.

My eyes scanned the many students that walked past us until they landed on one of the jocks in the distance. He wasn’t tackling or wrestling like the others, in fact, he was watching them and shaking his head with a faint smile on his perfect face.

His dark eyes poured into his friends. His smile lit up the already brightened field. He brushed his fingers through his medium-length and soft hair, allowing it to fall around his face. He looked incredibly muscular.

Another man put an arm around his neck, putting him in a headlock. The boys laughed and I couldn’t help the smile that tugged at my lips.

Who was that handsome boy?

I heard the sound of the bell from the school, and I looked at Jessie.

Oh, goddess! We were running late.

On that note, we both ran to class.

Later in the day, I went to find my locker with Jessie. We didn’t get a chance to this morning and now that it was almost lunchtime, we had a little downtime to explore the school a little.

Just as we rounded the corner, I bumped into what I thought was a wall at first. I had a face full of pure muscle and it was like being stopped by a brick.

I dropped some of my books on the ground and I instantly felt embarrassed.

Jessie was chuckling from behind me as I glanced down at the books that scattered to the ground.

I went to bend down to grab them, but my forehead hit another forehead that also bent down to grab the books.

I glanced up to see that handsome jock boy I saw before school started and I couldn’t help the gasp that escaped my lips.

He gave me a crooked grin.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t see you there,” he said with a light laugh. “I hope I didn’t hurt you too badly.”

I was at a loss for words; he was even cuter up close.

“Uh… no,” I managed to say. “I’m okay.

He helped me grab the rest of my books and I stood to my feet. He slowly stood with me, keeping his gorgeous eyes locked on mine.

“I saw you earlier before school. I was hoping I’d get a chance to meet you; I just didn’t think it was like this,” he said, rubbing his hand behind his neck.

He saw me too?

I felt my face grow warm under the intensity of his stare; my heart was racing wildly in my chest.

“It’s honestly not a big deal,” I said, trying to sound casual. “I appreciate that you picked up my books though. Thank you…”

“It’s the least I could do,” he shrugged. “I’m Gavin by the way.”

“I’m Erin.”

His smile was large and revealed a row of perfect teeth, my breathing got caught in my throat.

“Hi, Erin.”
