Chapter 98
Gavin’s POV
Judy gasped loudly at Jill’s words.
Jill had never actually met Erin, but she knew how in love Gavin was in high school. She knew he had found his mate and she knew that Erin had broken his heart. But he never thought they would get the opportunity to be face-to-face.
Jill made it quite clear many times in the past how she felt about Erin and if she were to ever see her in person. Now, that time has come, and Erin looked completely mortified.
Gavin saw tears welling up in her eyes almost instantly and he practically felt her heartbreaking. His wolf was howling in aggravation as Jill said those cruel words to their mate.
He couldn’t blame her for being upset. He was also upset, and he wanted Jill to leave.
Before he could say anything, Erin was turning her body from them and running out the back doors. Her boss, Kelsey, stared after her with saddened eyes.
Jill rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest as she peered up at him.
“You didn’t tell me she was in town,” Jill muttered, accusingly. “How could you not bring that up?”
“You should go home,” Gavin said, trying to keep his voice low and even.
At that point, there was a small audience of workers and customers staring in their direction.
“Gavin she broke your heart! Please tell me you aren’t going down that rabbit hole again—”
“Jill,” Gavin stopped her words by putting his hand up. “We will talk at home.”
Jill was silenced, staring at him with shock. Meanwhile, Judy remained at the booth, staring at them with her untouched salad placed before her.
Gavin glanced in Judy’s direction. He felt bad that she had to watch all of that happen in front of her eyes.
“You should get a to-go box and go with Jill,” he told her calmly. “I’m going to be a few minutes.”
Judy looked uncertain but she nodded. As if on cue, the manager of the restaurant, Kelsey, walks over with a small box.
“She’s in her car,” Kelsey whispers as she walks by.
He nodded my thanks to her and left out the back door and into the employee parking lot.
Gavin saw Erin’s small black car in the distance; she parked in the back lot and it didn’t even look like her car was even on.
As he reached her window, he saw her sitting in the driver’s seat, staring out the front window like she had just seen a ghost. Tears were staining her features and she was biting onto her bottom lip to keep herself from sobbing.
Gavin opens the car door, startling her.
She gazes up at him with wide and alarmed eyes.
“Judy is just a friend,” Gavin explains. “She’s having some difficulties at home, and I brought her to dinner to get her mind off things.”
“I’m not upset,” she said, keeping her misty eyes on his. “I don’t have a reason to be upset. You can date whomever you want, Gavin.”
“I’m not dating her,” Gavin clarified, shaking his head. “As I said, we are just friends.”
“That’s fine,” she said in return. “As I said… I’m not upset.”
“You seem upset.”
“I’m upset because of what your sister said to me…” Erin said, her voice cracking slightly. “I know I hurt you back in high school, but has she really been holding that grudge against me for all these years? I’ve never even met her.”
“I’ll take care of Jill.”
“I don’t need you to take care of her,” Erin said, shaking her head. “I just needed to get some air.”
“When are you going to stop denying that you have feelings for me?”
She looked startled by his accusation, and she stood up from her car, slamming the door shut.
“I’m with Henry. I don’t have feelings for anyone besides Henry.”
“Who are you trying to convince?” He asked, narrowing his eyes at her.
“I don’t care if you believe me or not,” she said in return. “I need to get back to work and you should get back to your date—”
As she began walking past him, he grabbed onto her arm, whipping her around so she was facing him. She stared up at him with wide eyes and a reddening face.
He leaned down and pressed his lips firmly against hers. She tasted sweet and familiar. At first, it was clear that she was trying to resist the temptation, but then her lips softened, and she deepened the kiss, pressing her body against his and wrapping her arms around his neck.
Her tongue was the one that made it into his mouth first and he felt a smile tugging at his lips as he pulled her even closer.
He ran his hands down the sides of her body, tugging at the bottom part of her uniform. She reached her own hands up and began to unbutton her blouse, much to his surprise. She revealed her chest to him as he broke the kiss from her lips and trailed it down the nape of her neck and across her chest.
Erin always had incredible breasts and every time he saw them, he desired her that much more.
He pulled her bra down, revealing her even more and his tongue circled around her nipple and tugged at it with his teeth, causing her to gasp at the sensation.
She ran her fingers through his hair, firmly pulling his head away from her. She was red in the face and breathless.
“Someone might see us…” she said in a husky whisper.
With a dark and hungry look in his eyes, he reached around her and pulled open the car door. He gave her a smirk and watched the playfulness emerge from her eyes.
He pushed her into the car and climbed in on top of her, continuing his kiss down her body until he reached the top of her skirt. She sucked in a sharp breath as he tugged at her underpants.
He could smell her desires for him, and it was making his mouth water with anticipation. He pulled her underpants down, tossing them in the backseat.
He began to kiss her inner thighs before reaching her center and pleasing her with his tongue. He wanted a taste of her before he fucked her.
She let out a soft moan as she reached her hands up to her head and ran her fingers through her hair.
“Oh, Gavin…” she breathed.
He kissed her body again, pressing his lips gently against hers and biting onto her bottom lip. He sucked her lip like it was a piece of candy. He sucked on it until it was red and swollen.
Before releasing himself from his pants, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver packet. Her eyes widened as she stared at it.
“You keep condoms on you at all times?” She asked.
He smirked in return.
“Never know when you’ll need them.”
…
Jill’s POV
Jill didn’t leave right away. She watched as Gavin walked out the back door to find that terrible, she-wolf Erin. The one who broke his heart all those years ago.
Gavin hasn’t been the same since she broke up with him and Jill has disliked her ever since.
After Gavin took off after Erin, Jill took Judy to her car and had her wait in the passenger seat.
“I’ll be right back,” Jill told her as she made her way around the restaurant to find Gavin and Erin. As she made her way into the back parking lot, she paused when she saw Gavin at Erin’s car.
Erin seemed to be upset and was walking past him when he grabbed onto her arm and pulled her into an embrace.
Then, to Jill’s surprise and dismay, they began kissing.
