Chapter 2 Mrs. Ford’s Plans
Lolita returned to her rental apartment, her cold had already gotten better.
Lilian, still drunk, was sleeping on the bed in her revealing camisole, snoring. Beer cans, clothes, and makeup were scattered all over the living room.
Lolita sighed. If her family hadn't forced her to get married as soon as she graduated, she wouldn't have moved out from home.
Coincidentally, her college friend Lilian invited her to share the rent, so she didn't bother looking for another place and temporarily moved in with Lilian.
After finishing cleaning, Lolita's mother called:
"Lolita, your father hit someone in the hospital parking lot..."
"My child, please come quickly!"
"What?" Lolita was startled, "What happened?!"
"They are going to hold us criminally responsible. Please come quickly!" Lolita's mother sounded so desperate over the phone that she seemed on the verge of tears.
"Alright, mom, don't worry. I'll be right there," Lolita hung up the phone and left the house.
The Lowell family's company was facing a financial crisis. It wouldn't be good if her father got into more trouble. Realizing this, Lolita hurriedly took a taxi to the hospital!
Less than half an hour after Lolita left, Lilian woke up. After spending a long time in the bathroom vomiting, she cursed as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"Damn it, I only went for the rich classmate. Those poor men actually dared to force alcohol on me!"
Thinking of this, she envied Lolita, who still had a family and a company.
"Ding Dong! Ding Dong!"
Becoming impatient, Lilian walked over and opened the door, asking, "Who is it?!"
After opening the door, she saw a businessman standing outside.
Lilian had seen many wealthy people in Windsor, so she cautiously asked, "May I ask who you are?"
Secretary Brown smiled and asked the woman in front of him, "Are you Miss Lilian?"
"Yes, it's me," Lilian said, "What can I do for you?"
Realizing that this was the woman Mr. Ford was going to marry, Secretary Brown politely said, "Did Miss Lin spend the night with Mr. Ford in Windsor last night? Mr. Ford asked me to come and take Miss Lin for a trip."
Lilian's heart skipped a beat. Last night? Could it be Lolita?!
"May I know Mr. Ford's name?"
"Hans."
Lilian's heart was about to jump out of her chest.
Her tongue tied, she stuttered, "Hans? Could it be the billionaire Hans?!"
Secretary Brown smiled and nodded, "Yes, Mr. Ford wants to marry you."
Lilian's body trembled. Marry... marry her?
Damn it.
Why did Lolita have such good luck?
Not only did she meet a billionaire while helping her work as a substitute, but the billionaire also wanted to marry her?!
No, this opportunity was meant for her, Lilian!
If anyone should get married, it should be her!
"Oh, yes, yes, it was me last night!" Lilian immediately smiled and agreed, "I didn't know he was Hans!"
Secretary Brown took out the jade pendant, "Is this your jade pendant, Miss Lin?"
Lilian's eyes widened, immediately recognizing the pendant that Lolita always wore close to her body!
"Yes! It's mine!" Lilian quickly grabbed it and put it around her own neck, "I always wear it close to me."
"Then, Miss Lin, please pack your things," Secretary Brown said.
Tary Brown glanced at the time on her watch. "I'll pick you up now and take you to meet Mr. Ford."
"Alright, wait for me a moment. I'll pack up right away!"
Excitedly, Lilian ran back to her room to pack her luggage.
This is great, her dream of marrying into a wealthy family is finally going to come true.
No longer does she have to envy Lolita and her life as a heiress. She will become the wife of a billionaire and become a wealthy woman herself!
"Hey, I quit!" Lilian packed her bags and made a phone call to resign from Windsor Entertainment Club. "I don't care about the half-month salary anymore. Lilian is no longer someone you can afford to hire..."
...
Lolita arrived at the hospital, where her parents were nodding and smiling at an elegant old lady lying in a VIP ward.
"Dad, Mom."
Lolita walked into the ward and looked at them, and the old lady also glanced at her.
There was a driver standing beside the hospital bed, clearly someone of significance, perhaps from a prestigious family!
Lolita's mother, Amelia, pulled her to the bedside. "Lolita, we have just negotiated with this old lady. As long as you marry her son, she won't pursue legal actions against your father!"
Lolita widened her eyes, "What? Mom, how could you agree to such a thing without consulting me?"
"Are you refusing and want to see me go to jail?" Chandler Lowell, Lolita's father, became irritated.
Amelia tried to appease her, "Lolita, actually, this old lady approached us for a marriage alliance last time. But you didn't agree and moved out of the house. Who would have thought that your father would have just collided with her recently..."
Lolita became even more shocked, staring at the old lady on the bed. "It was her last time?!"
"Miss Lowell." The old lady on the hospital bed smiled at Lolita. "I'm Ford, others call me old Mrs. Ford."
"I've seen your photos before. Among all the socialites in the city, Miss Lowell, you are the most vibrant and beautiful one, so I sent someone to find your parents earlier."
"Madam, please..."
Lolita frowned and said, "Madam, I don't know you or your son. How can we get married?"
"Feelings, my dear, can be cultivated gradually after marriage." The old Mrs. Ford smiled cunningly. "Many noble ladies across the country want to marry my second son. I chose you because I appreciate you. It's your honor to marry him!"
Chandler Lowell and Amelia exchanged glances. It was indeed a wealthy family.
The couple immediately nodded eagerly, "Thank you, Madam, for considering our Lolita. We will do everything according to your wishes!"
After saying that, Amelia desperately shook Lolita's hand and urged, "Isn't that right, Lolita? Please say yes to Madam quickly!"
Lolita was speechless, and old Mrs. Ford warned again, "But let me make it clear, I hope this matter remains a secret agreement between us. If you leak it, don't blame me for being merciless..."
