—No creo que nadie pudiera haberlo leído antes de esta noche —explicó Lyra, señalando una serie de símbolos intrincados que bordeaban el texto—. ¿Ves estas runas? Forman un hechizo de bloqueo temporal. La profecía estaba oculta hasta que el momento fuera el adecuado para ser revelada.

El rostro de Mara palideció.

—¿Y ese momento es ahora? Lyra, ¿qué dice exactamente?

Tomando una respiración profunda, Lyra comenzó a traducir el antiguo texto para su amiga.
