Chapter 3

Nora acted quickly.

Before long, the door to the storage room was pushed open from the outside.

Nora entered with two Capos, striding in.

When she saw the blood at the corner of my mouth, my disheveled clothes, and my pathetic situation, she was visibly shocked.

She quickly walked over and helped me up.

I shook my head, signaling her not to speak.

Then I took the bank card with the password on it from her hand and threw it at Flora.

The woman took the card without saying much.

She waved her hand, impatiently saying:

"If this card is fake, I have ways to find you. Now get out."

With Nora’s help, I endured the intense pain all over my body and staggered out of that disgusting place.

At the restaurant door, she looked at me with concern:

"What happened?"

I forced a smile:

"It’s Cole’s secret mistress."

I let Nora go back first, went to the hospital for an examination, holding a thin report in my hand.

My anger and the feeling of being betrayed grew stronger.

I took a deep breath; I wanted Cole to look me in the eyes and give me an explanation.

My assistant found that Cole was at his place, so I took the driver and Capo directly to his estate.

Even the estate was a gift from me to him.

But when I arrived, I heard the deafening sound of heavy metal music from inside.

There were both men and women laughing and chatting, and the sound came through the doors and windows.

He was throwing a party... No wonder he hadn’t answered my calls earlier.

The front door was slightly ajar, and for some reason, I didn’t open it immediately.

Soon, I heard the familiar sound of a woman crying.

It was Flora Wilson.

She was crying in front of everyone inside.

Portraying herself as a victim of an arrogant third party, someone who was being revenged upon.

"… I just asked her to pay for the vase, and she threw $100,000 at me… Cole, she’s too much, she doesn’t respect you at all! She’s trying to humiliate me, break us apart!"

Inside, Cole’s group of friends immediately sided with Flora.

They pretended to be outraged, acting as though they were standing up for her.

Cole held Flora in his arms, speaking to her in a tone full of concern and affection:

"Don’t worry, Flora. I won’t let you suffer like this!"

To prove himself, he promised dramatically in front of everyone:

"As soon as I find that woman, I’ll make her kneel and apologize to you!"

The rich second-generation friends immediately cheered, each one louder than the last.

"Cole, say the word, and we’ll drag her out now!"

"Yes! Let her know who’s in charge here!"
