Chapter 5 The size of my ass
Barging into my room, my heartbeat ceased. I shut the door behind me breathing heavily as I leaned against the door. He must have probably seen the size of my ass. Hopefully no one else saw me sneak into my room, or worse secretly take a picture.
Well, even if they did, I would sell it and use it for my gain.
My feet headed to my closet as I inhaled sharply, pulling out a blue dress. Glancing at the time, it was seven pm. I had barely eaten anything.
“Do I go to the kitchen or order takeout?” I questioned, my mind flashing to Deamon stealing my cinnamon.
I reached for my phone, scrolled through the food delivery app checking the options before choosing.
As I waited for my delivery, I pushed open my MacBook laying on my bed, my fingers hovering over my schoolwork before scanning my class calendar. A general course was scheduled at eight AM the next day.
Minutes later, a soft knock came on my door. Faintly, I pulled myself up, slipping my legs into my flip-flops, and heading to the door.
Deamon stood outside, “Your food is here,” he said with takeout in his hands.
Yanking it from his hands, I quickly shut the door. Behind the door, the thought of Deamon seeing me naked flooded my head again as I walked to my bed.
I opened the meal, the smell of warm pasta and garlic bread filling my nostrils. I didn't realise how hungry I was until I took a bite. By the time I finished eating, my eyes burned with tiredness so I closed my laptop and set an alarm to read later at night, then I drifted off.
The next thing I knew was sunlight hitting my eyes. “Shit!! Oh my goodness!” I jumped out of my bed as my eyes met the clock, it was seven fifty-nine. I had barely ten minutes to prepare for class.
Outside the bathroom, I heard the shower running. “Are you in there Deamon?” I called out and he responded.
“Fuck!” I cursed under my breath.
“Can you please hurry up a bit?” I shouted before retreating to my room to set things in place for class.
On returning to use the bathroom, the shower was still running.
“Deamon! Are you sleeping in there?” I called out, looking at the time on my phone.
“You've already spent fifteen minutes there.”
“I’m almost done!” he answered.
With a deep breath, my eyes glued to the clock as extra minutes fled by. Finally, the door opened, towel wrapped around his waist as he smiled at me.
“Do you have class this morning?”
I stepped into the bathroom without an answer.
“Deamon!” I screamed, the vanilla scent of my shower gel hitting my nose the moment I stepped in. Worse, it wasn't properly covered.
I would have stepped out to him but I barely had any time left. Hurriedly, I brushed my teeth, showered and before I finished dressing it was already almost nine o'clock.
As I rushed out of the room, Deamon stood outside fully dressed.
“Running late?” He asked, one hand in his trousers. I raised my brows and shook my head.
“I would drop you off,” he offered, opening the front door and walking out.
The last thing I wanted was Deamon thinking I owed him anything but I had no other option. He didn't shower quickly enough resulting in my lateness.
Reluctantly, I responded," Fine”
His lips widened at my response, "That's what I like to hear”.
“Please shut up,” I replied as we headed downstairs to the car.
The engine came alive and the car started moving. “I'm so late because of you. You spent over thirty minutes showering in the bathroom,” I complained, adjusting my seat belt.
He shot a glance at me and shook his head, “You are unbelievable.”
“Just driveee” I said, plugging my headphones into my ear.
A few minutes later, we arrived at campus. Faces turned in my direction as I walked into the class. I claimed an empty seat next to a blonde-haired girl, one I quickly recognized.
“You’re Deamon's roommate right?” She whispered, leaning towards me.
“Deamon Deamon Deamon!” I muttered inaudibly. The one place I could get away from hearing the name Deamon, some girl still had to bring it up.
“Yes,” I bluntly replied, trying to focus on the lecture.
As one of the university's voluntary general courses, this was one of the few places I saw people outside football and my course.
Deamon walked into the classroom.
“Deamon..” the girl beside me giggled, making me wonder what excited her about him.
There were plenty of empty seats here, he better not come sit next to me. Scanning the room, he made way towards my end. He paused for a second when his eyes met me then he went behind me.
I sighed, watching the professor suddenly write on the board.
“CAN A PERSON BE CONSIDERED GOOD IF THEY DO SOMETHING BAD FOR THE RIGHT REASON?”
“Anyone?” She called out, her hands in the air.
“Yes, Aliya,” she called my name, taking me aback.
After a short pause, I answered, “I think they can if they do something bad for the right reason.”
“I disagree."
I turned back to Deamon, and a few students laughed and I quietly placed my ass down.
“A good intention does not make a bad action right, the circumstances matter but they do not erase the actions”. At first listen, his response made sense but on second thought, it made zero sense.
I lifted my hands to rebut. The professor smiled, glanced at her wrist watch.
“Time is up and I think we have found our presentation topic,” she said, picking up her marker as she wrote.
“MORALITY: INTENTION VS. ACTION”
“Pick your partners for this presentation,” she announced before walking out.
Quietly packing my bags, breath brushed against my neck . "Do you need a ride home?”
“I know how to get myself home, if you want to drive so badly, get an Uber job. ” I rolled my eyes as I looked over my shoulders.
“That was mean," the blonde-haired girl chimed in.
“Can I come with you Deamon?” Her voice, extra sweet as her head tilted while she bit her lips with her fixated eyes on Deamon.
He glanced at me for a second and back at her.
“Can I come with you Deamon?” She repeated, looking at me this time.
Rolling my eyes, I garbled my bags and walked away. I didn’t want to hear his answer.
I had barely gone far, when Deamon called me, “Aliya!”
