Chapter 6 The consequence of your actions

I should have gone home but instead I decided to go to the park near school. I used to come sit here when I needed to clear my head. Also, I knew Deamon was going to take the blonde-haired girl home and I didn't want to witness and hear all that came with it.

My belly started to turn and my phone lit up with a notification. Flo app: Your period is expected today.

“Oh my days..” I muttered, as I quickly ordered a ride.

By the time I got home, the smell of smoke hit my nostrils. At the couch, the girl's head rested on his thigh. As predicted, he was going to be with her. They sat watching television, and smoking.

I held my breath, my hands holding my stomach slightly and turned my door handle open. Once inside, I released my breath and hurriedly quickly on a pad. I hated periods so much but I'd rather flow a river of blood than be pregnant.

My throat and tongue suddenly felt dry. The moment I walked into the living room, I was almost gasping for breath. I coughed and they turned to me.

“Are you seriously smoking here?” I said almost in a cry.

“Go back inside your room,” he nonchalantly replied. I walked to the kitchen, poured water into the glass and drank slowly while I sat there for a minute before heading out.

Matching straight to the window, flinging it open, I walked to Deamon and snatched the blunt from his hands.

“Hey!!”

Before he could react, I grabbed the other one from the girls and threw the blunts outside the window.

“Did you just throw my blunt away?”

“Next time, I’d set this house in flames so you inhale as much as you like,” I sternly replied.

“Who gave you the right to touch my stuff, Aliya?”

“And who gave you the right to fill the entire room with smoke?” I rolled my eyes and walked out.

At earshot, I heard the girl say, “Did you just let her get away with that?”

Halting for a second, I spared a glance at them before moving  back inside my room.

“I’d deal with her later,” I heard Deamon say as I shut the door.

Shaking my head in amusement, I mimicked him and chuckled.

The moment I climbed into my bed, the cramps hit me so bad that I curled my toes in pain. I couldn’t go down to my bed to get painkillers and I couldn’t ask anyone to. This made me miss staying at my former dorm again.

After about twenty minutes, I heard the front door close. Finally, my eyes closed to sleep. I don’t know how long I slept, before I started hearing very loud music blasting into my room.

“Deamon..” I murmured, covering my face, a tear slipped down my cheek. I pulled my cover over my ears but it wasn’t working. At the same time, I wasn't mobile enough and I couldn't text him or call because I didn't have his contact cause I never saw any need to.

After a while, I  pushed myself out of the bed, my legs shaking as I walked to the door. When I got to the living room, Deamon was there scrolling through his phone.

“Turn the music down, I can't sleep,”  I requested, trying to suppress my pain.

“No.”

“Why? Deamon? Why do you keep doing this?”

He raised his head to me, pressing his lips together before responding. “Aliya. I’m not turning it down.”

Looking back at his phone, pretending like nobody was there in the room, I snapped, snatching his phone and slamming it to the ground. The house became quiet for a split second.

“What did you just do Aliya?” He stood up from the couch, inching towards me.

I firmly stood my ground. His eyes moved to the phone on the ground and back at me.

“You really think you can do anything because you are Ethan’s sister,” he said, faking a laugh as he wiped his face.

“This is the consequence of your actions. Act mad and you’d land in the psychiatric ward,” I warned, holding my stomach slightly and a sharp pain shot in my pelvic region.

He bent down and picked up his phone, “You really have a death wish don't you?”

Without another word I rolled my eyes and walked away to my room.

{DEAMON’S POV}

“Crazy girl,” I muttered as she dissapeared to her room. Aliya really had nerves. I reached into my pocket for my other phone. As I pulled it out, the notification blared on my phone.

“EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE ON THE BY 5:45”

It was already three forty-nine. I was just going to play a game and probably sleep later but seeing this, I barely had much time for that anymore.

Aliya was probably asleep by now. Maybe she had seen the message. I would have notified her but not after she broke my phone and warned me not to enter her room without knocking. I didn’t need more trouble.

It wasn’t my responsibility to remind her, if she missed practice that was on her.

I turned on the television and started playing on my gaming console until it was close to practice time. By five twenty I started preparing to leave for practice. I walked towards the front door then I stopped at Aliya's door.

I lifted my hands to knock at the door but held back. What was I even doing? Besides, she was probably asleep and would stone me to death if I opened the door or knocked.

“Nah.. I can’t do this,” I said, shaking my head then I left.

In the field, towards the end of the practice, Coach Aemond asked.

“Where is Aliya?”

“I don’t know,” I replied to him. “You live in the same house don't you?” He asked, looking at me intently.

“I figured she saw the message,” I replied, shrugging my shoulders.

“Deamon informed  Aliya to report to my office first thing tomorrow morning,” he ordered.

How was I going to tell her about this? After what I had done, I already knew she was going to kill me.
