Chapter11 Like Racing?

Caius had said more than once that he hated seeing other men around her, and now she was openly defying him. Linnea didn't dare think further. If she let Caius continue to misunderstand, her revenge plan would soon fail.

She didn't hesitate to chase after him. "Caius, please wait for me!"

His legs were long and he walked extremely fast. Linnea had no choice but to jog up and grab his sleeve. "I didn't want to have contact with him, Caius. I was trying to buy back the remaining paintings my mother left here, including the last time at the gallery, it was also because of this..."

His hand covered Linnea's fingertips, but it wasn't the intimate touch of the past. Slowly and irresistibly, he pried Linnea's fingers open one by one and continued striding forward.

Linnea panicked. Caius was a very capricious person. When he was angry, he disdained to listen to anyone's explanations.

So she had no choice but to do her best to keep Caius. When he opened the back door and got in, Linnea followed like a fish, pushing Caius onto the car seat. She hugged him tightly. "Caius, I was wrong. Please forgive me!"

The next second, a scorching palm gripped her waist. The world spun, and the man flipped her over, pinning her underneath him.

Their faces pressed together, rapid hot breaths flowing between them. Linnea saw clearly the sweat on his forehead, which was his mark of a manic state. Her adrenaline spiked to its peak. She observed him fearfully, worried he would smash his fist into her face.

"I said I don't like my things having contact with trash."

"Yes, I'm sorry, but there's a reason. It's for my mother's belongings..."

"Why won't you obey?"

Caius stared at that troublesome mouth. It was on the small side, bright red, and paired with passionate moans in bed was extremely wonderful. But beyond that, she would use this mouth to say annoying things, trying to provoke his anger and keep him on the edge of mania.

As a therapeutic drug, her efficacy was truly terrible.

And now, that mouth trembled, along with her eyes darting around from thinking. He didn't even need to guess to know that mouth was about to spit out words that disgusted him even more. He really wanted to shut her up.

He thought this and was about to do it.

But when he leaned down to claim those lips, he suddenly stopped abruptly.

No, what had he just been thinking? He was actually being led by this woman's emotions? He was going to take the initiative to kiss her?

Caius had never had this experience before. It had always been women who actively clung to him to serve him. Or he hunted prey with the idea of hunting, either disguising elegant manners or brutally seizing, savoring the prey on the bed.

He felt novelty but coldly announced to her, "Linnea, from now on, our relationship is over."

Linnea had already prepared herself for a kiss. Although they had never kissed in a conscious state before, Caius acted without any pattern. This was probably just one of his ways of plundering her, with no special meaning.

But Caius stopped so abruptly.

Over? If Caius's massive thing wasn't still pressing against her lower body, she might have believed it. Linnea thought to herself.

However, she hadn't forgotten that Caius had extremely terrifying self-control. He could easily resist temptation, even from someone like herself who had a unique attraction to him on a physiological level.

"Why end it?" Linnea carefully tried to salvage the situation. "Caius, did I make you irritable? I'm sorry. As punishment, you can bite my neck." Caius had revealed to her once after sex that biting could intensify her scent and make him more satisfied.

Caius didn't move. She gently stroked his neck, her fingertips touching his throbbing carotid artery, pulling down. "Caius, I want to apologize to you. Please give me this chance..."

Caius finally moved. He pushed her away and said through the half-open car window to the driver waiting outside, "Back to the beach apartment."

Linnea was somewhat surprised. Caius rarely brought her back to his residence. As for the manor, although it was also his main property, it had previously belonged to his father and had housed too many illegitimate children. He didn't like it, but he had always only had sex with female companions at the manor. With Linnea, it was still the same.

But now, he was actually willing to bring her back?

"What are you thinking?" Caius opened the car door and shoved her out. "Get lost. Now you have no connection to me whatsoever. If you continue to pester me, I don't mind calling the police."

Linnea stumbled and nearly fell to the roadside.

She met the driver's hesitant gaze, her heart already laughing uncontrollably from anger at these ups and downs.

Apologizing didn't work, acting cute didn't work, coaxing him along didn't work either. Caius, what exactly did he want her to do? Why was he so difficult, so troublesome? Wasn't he still flirting with Amy three days ago? What exactly did he feel toward Linnea, meaning herself, right now?

Caius urged the driver again.

Only then did the driver seem to wake up, hastily responding "yes," "okay," "right away," and was about to rush back to the driver's seat to drive.

But Linnea suddenly stopped him. "Hello."

"Ah, oh, hello..."

"Has your work been hard lately?"

"It's okay. Um, there shouldn't be anything special..."

"I left something in the passenger seat. Can I get in to retrieve it?"

The driver seemed to struggle. Linnea interrupted his thoughts again. "Sorry, I really need it urgently. I'll get in now."

"Is that your key on the floor? Please take a look."

"Oh, okay..."

The driver's first day on the job. He was originally responsible for transportation for lower-level management at Thorne Corporation, but Caius had come in a hurry just now. He went down to the parking garage, randomly pointed at a car, and selected him.

Therefore, compared to those rigorously trained CEO-exclusive drivers, he was more foolish.

He didn't think about this girl's intentions at all and thought she was very kind to remind him he had dropped something. But when he turned around to look at the car key on the ground that he might have dropped, he only saw a blank floor.

And Linnea sat in the driver's seat, pretending to search around.

Seeing her instinctively assume a standard driving posture, Caius asked her, "When did you get a driver's license?"

"The first month after I became an adult. I was still rebellious then and wanted to race all night with friends on the mountain roads in the east part of the city. I've always learned things quickly."

"You're very smart."

"But I can't figure out how to please you."

"That is indeed a difficult problem. Even I don't know myself."

He hid his preferences to prevent people with ulterior motives from framing him. This was a survival rule he had been very accustomed to since childhood.

Linnea indeed didn't find any dropped items in the passenger seat. But she wasn't anxious. Instead, she casually placed her hand on the steering wheel.

"Caius, I think you're someone who loves excitement. Perhaps..."

"You might like racing?"

At the same time, the driver finally confirmed there was nothing on the ground. He knocked on the car window in confusion. "Miss, you must have seen wrong..."

What came at him, however, was a gust of wind.

The entire car shot out like an arrow released from a bow.
