Introduction
''How dare you?'' i said without heat.
He traced his fingers at my lower lip, making me shiver with every touch of his palm.
Oh, shit! This man would be the death of me.
Our deepest, darkest desires aren't made known until we're faced with what brings them out, only then will it be revealed.
Kiara Barclay, tall with a long jet black hair had all it took to be the next managing director of her father's company but when the sinfully handsome Lucas Bell waltzed in, wanting to buy the company to save it for liquidation, Kiara knew she had to do all she could to avoid that.
It was her father's company, left in her name and the last thing she would do was to allow anyone reap where they didn't sow.
Not minding that Lucas was a billionaire on his own, Kiara was ready to battle it out with him even if it meant using her body to get what she wanted. It was a game of wits, smartness and intelligence which would only bring out one victor.
Chapter 1
''Damn! Damn! What the actual hell?!'' Kiara seethed.
She had just gotten the news of her father's debilitating illness which was made worse by the fact that he was old. This wasn't the news she expected to hear on an early Monday morning when they should be talking about stocks and bonds.
''Where is he now?'' Kiara asked the nurse she had hired for him.
She got out of bed, rushing to put on some clothes without minding if they were good or not. She needed to see her father before anything else. Her long sunny brown hair was in shambles with each strand scattered in all directions. At that moment, Kiara didn't care because all she wanted was to see her father.
''He's in the hospital now ma'am, the doctors were able to stabilise him.'' she said.
Soon, Kiara was ready as she dashed all the way downstairs within her penthouse that overlooked the city's environment. It was a beautiful house gifted to her by her father on the occasion of her twenty fifth birthday celebration.
Kiara Barclay was an heiress, the only child and daughter of Stewart Barclay, a man who dealt in stocks and bonds. He also dabbled into the electrical and electronics business and he was the major producer of electrical appliances across the United States and its neighbouring town. As soon as her father died, Kiara was to take over the business and continue running it as Stewart had no male child as the world had already dictated.
So far so good, Kiara was doing a great job of running the business and her father couldn't be more proud of her. Kiara jumped into her car, a Mercedes EQE SUV, the latest for the year. The electric gate leading to her house, also courtesy of her father, opened up as she drove out.
Different thoughts and emotions ran through her mind over the situation her father was in. She couldn't afford for anything to happen to him as he was her only family Kiara had lost her mother in her teenage years and ever since, the only family she knew was her father.
He had helped her more times than she could count, always ready to support her even if her plans were not solid.
The early morning New York traffic built up bit by bit as a result of everyone trying to get to work all at the same time. Kiara honked her horn loudly, swearing at the slow drivers that thought it best to ''sleep'' on the road. Didn't they know she had somewhere important to be?
''Move on already.'' she swore.
Soon, the snail speed traffic picked up and she was able to manoeuvre her way around it. Thirty minutes later, she was pulling up in the driveway of the hospital. Kiara climbed out her car, practically running into the building. Fear was boldly written on her face and she prayed to the heavens that her father was still alive somehow.
''Ma'am.'' the receptionist called.
Kiara hardly paid her any attention as she rushed towards the room where she knew her father would be. Anytime he was ill, he was always admitted in the executive ward which was solely reserved for dignitaries who were ill.
''Where is my father?'' Kiara barked, running across halls towards the ward.
Some of the nurses and doctors who saw her ran after her with distress written all over her face. When Kiara was like this, they knew that there was no pacifying her. She could go all out to destroy everything and anyone that stood in her way. There was no doubt that they referred to her as the ''iron lady'' and if her father, the great Stewart Barclay died, she could handle his empire without breaking a sweat. She was the male child he didn't have.
''Right this way ma'am, we'll take you to him.'' the doctor said.
Kiara, with her heart beating rapidly followed him all the way to the ward where she knew her father would be. Soon, she got in and she wasn't happy when he saw the state he was in. He was weak and he barely recognized her at all.
''Dad.'' Kiara murmured.
''Hey baby, is that you?'' Stewart croaked.
Kiara fell to her knees, grabbing his hands. Even his hands were frail which just told her that his ailment was bad, very bad.
''I'll be fine, don't worry about me.'' he smiled.
Kiara didn't want to cry but at that moment, she didn't know if she had the strength to keep her tears at bay. Seeing her father this way was enough to break her heart to a million pieces.
''No dad! You are not fine so don't even pretend like you are. I swear it, i will find the best care for you, please just give me a little time.'' Kiara begged.
The nurse she had assigned to him, a pleasant elderly lady placed a hand on her shoulder, silently assuring her that everything would be fine. According to what the doctors said, the chances for survival were slim because the ailment appeared all of a sudden.
Just then, the machines affixed to her father began beeping rapidly, sending Kiara to an overdrive. Her father was dying but yet, there was no way she could stop it. This wasn't what she had planned, this wasn't how she wanted her week to go.
The doctor arrived soon, pushing her out of the way. The look on his face was one of hopelessness and Kiara realised with a sinking feeling that her father was gone. There was little to nothing the doctors could do to save him at this point.
Soon, the monitors fell silent, announcing that a soul had been lost. Kiara started on with no emotions left in her. Her father was truly gone and now, the responsibility of the empire rested on her shoulders and if there was one thing Kiara knew, it was that this was only just the beginning.

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Invisible To Her Bully
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
