Vivian Warner was slightly taken aback by these words. She couldn’t quite figure out what Wayne Sosie meant. But she glanced at Wayne Sosie quietly. Her cheeks turned slightly red as she whispered softly, “The chairman is the most handsome.”

“Hahaha, if that’s the case, then you know what to do with this guy who’s trying to act cool in front of me, right?” Wayne Sosie laughed heartily. Vivian Warner smiled knowingly and nodded. “I understand.”

Before long, screams as loud as those of a pig being slaughtered came from the main hall of the ConocoPhillips headquarters.

“Let me go! Let me go! I’m Harvey Nora of the Nora family. I’m here to discuss business partnerships with you, Vice Chairman Warner. Please let me go!”

Harvey Nora screamed and struggled frantically, but the two security guards holding him completely ignored him. They simply threw Harvey Nora out of the ConocoPhillips headquarters building onto the street, where he fell to the ground like trash, completely disregarded.

As the saying goes, good news stays within the four walls of the house, while bad news spreads far and wide. Harvey Nora has really made a fool of himself this time. The funny stories about Harvey Nora being kicked out of the ConocoPhillips consortium spread like wildfire, becoming the talk of the whole Carlisle.

In the hall of the Nora family’s villa, everyone had a gloomy expression on their faces. A sense of tension filled the air, making the atmosphere extremely oppressive. All that could be heard were Harvey Nora’s agonized screams and wails.

“Grandma, please help me make a decision. The Confidd Consortium is completely unacceptable. They actually threw me out in public! They really don’t give any respect to our Nora family at all!” Harvey Nora cried bitterly, recounting his miserable experiences. He had never suffered such humiliation in his entire life. He was completely overwhelmed with grief.

Every member of the Nora family clenched their fists in anger. Lady Nora was so furious that she could barely breathe. The actions of the Confidd Consortium were nothing short of publicly humiliating the Nora family. Now, the Nora family was truly going to become a laughingstock in Carlisle.

Although the Nora family was nothing more than a minor, insignificant family in Carlisle, if a conflict arose, the Confidd Consortium would still have to take into account public opinion and the chatter of the masses.

However, at that moment, the head of Nora Group’s Business Department rushed in. Old Lady Nora had sharp eyes. She knew exactly how significant this news was. Now certainly wasn’t the time to go to war with the Confidd Consortium!

ConocoPhillips’ bold move has truly shocked Carlisle. The real estate project in the new district represents a huge opportunity that everyone is eager to seize. If they can take advantage of this partnership, they’ll surely reap tremendous benefits.

Old Lady Nora remained silent for a long time. She rubbed her temples, then looked at those present and said slowly, “Who would be willing to go and negotiate this time?”

Lady Nora’s words echoed throughout the main hall of the Nora family. Yet, not a single member of the Nora family, who had seemed so eager to take on tasks yesterday, spoke in response. They all cowered like shriveled quails, afraid that Lady Nora would assign them this unpleasant task.

With Harvey Nora’s miserable fate as a precedent, who in the Nora family would dare to negotiate with the ConocoPhillips consortium? If they were thrown out in public again, that would be truly disastrous.

Seeing that no one responded, Old Lady Nora couldn’t help but sigh. Harvey Nora, who was standing nearby, had a sudden idea. His dark eyes rolled around as a vicious thought crossed his mind.

“Grandma, in my opinion, it must be Diana Noramo who’s responsible for this!”

“Harvey Nora! You’re going too far! You were the one who rushed to get it yesterday. And now that you’ve been humiliated, you want to give it to me? What a ‘good cousin’ you are!” Diana Nora became furious. Her beautiful eyes fixed intently on Harvey Nora as she retorted through gritted teeth.

“Diana Nora, you’re the head of the company’s Business Department. The Business Department is responsible for all external business partnerships. By the rules, you should—and must—be the one to handle this!” Harvey Nora sneered, completely ignoring Diana Nora’s objections.

Diana Nora couldn’t help but laugh. She had seriously underestimated how shameless her cousin really was. Such a despicable person had no principles or morals at all!

“Ding dong!” Just then, a text message notification interrupted Diana Nora’s thoughts. She checked her phone and saw that it was a message from Wayne Sosie.

“Diana, trust me, I’ll definitely succeed in the negotiations with the ConocoPhillips consortium!”

A simple sentence made Diana Nora fall into deep thought. She couldn’t understand where Wayne Sosie, a penniless, powerless man with no connections at all, got his confidence from. Yet, for some reason, Diana Nora found herself believing in Wayne Sosie anyway.

“Okay, I agree!” Diana Nora stubbornly raised her head to look at Harvey Nora. Seeing that Diana Nora had actually agreed, Harvey Nora’s face lit up with joy.

“Diana Nora, don’t think it’s that simple to just agree. If you fail to make the deal, then get rid of your worthless husband and leave the Nora family forever!” Harvey Nora was relentless, with no intention of letting Diana Nora and Wayne Sosie go easily. He had planned all along to use this opportunity to get rid of them.

“You…” Diana Nora’s beautiful face twisted in displeasure, a hint of anger flashing across her exquisite features. But she quickly regained her composure, her gaze firm and resolute as she looked at Harvey Nora. “What price will you pay if I succeed in my negotiations, my dear cousin?”

“Hahaha, you really think you can make a deal? Well, let me make it clear: as long as you succeed in closing the deal, I’ll kneel down and lick Wayne Sosie’s feet!” Harvey Nora said firmly. He didn’t believe for a moment that Diana Nora had any chance of succeeding.

“Very well, then I demand that you keep your promise!” Diana Nora glared at Harvey Nora through gritted teeth, then turned around and left the Nora family’s villa.

Before long, furious screams came from the villa where Ruth Nora lived. Mr. and Mrs. Nora were furious.

“You’re so foolish! How could you agree to Harvey Nora’s demands? He only wants our family to be expelled from the Nora clan. You’ve fallen for his trap!” Mr. Nora looked at his daughter with heartache.

“Diana, you’re not usually so impulsive. That worthless wretch must have tricked you. I knew it! Nothing good ever comes from associating with that loser. What a disaster! You damned fool, you deserve to die!” Lady Nora cursed violently at Wayne Sosie, who stood silently beside her. Her words were as vile as they could be.

“Divorce! We must get a divorce! Keeping this scourge around will only lead to our downfall sooner or later. You worthless piece of trash, get out of the Nora family!” Mr. Nora was also extremely enraged. His hateful gaze made it seem like he wanted to devour Wayne Sosie on the spot.

Realizing the situation was bad, Diana Nora quickly pulled on the hem of Wayne Sosie’s clothes and slipped into the room, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Nora fuming in the living room.
