Chapter 7 You are asking for a beating!

Amelia frowned slightly, about to speak, when Natalie directly scolded him.

"Felix! Don't talk like that."

"Amelia is your sister. When she went missing back then, you were largely responsible for it."

"Now that she's back, you should take good care of her. How can you be so mean to your sister?"

"Besides, if we trace our family back three generations, we were farmers too. No matter how high you rise, never forget your roots."

"Go to your room and reflect on what you've done! You're not allowed out without my permission!"

Amelia looked at Natalie in surprise.

Not because Natalie was protecting her, but because that phrase "never forget your roots" was something she often said to her own subordinates too.

Their principles were very similar.

Amelia's fondness for Natalie grew even more.

Felix panicked.

"Mom, given our family's situation right now, how can you make me stay in my room? I need to go to the Combat Arts Association and ask if anyone can help Dad."

"You don't need to worry about these things! And that Combat Arts Association, you don't need to go there anymore. That's not a proper place."

Felix wasn't like this before. It was the people at the Combat Arts Association who turned him into this.

She shouldn't have let him go train at the Combat Arts Association back then.

"Mom."

"Are you not even listening to me now? You're going to—" Natalie suddenly started coughing violently.

Concerned about Natalie's health, Felix had to back down.

"Mom, don't get upset. I'll go reflect right now."

After saying this, he looked deeply at Amelia.

His eyes were full of dislike for her.

As soon as she came back, the family went bankrupt and got into trouble, and now he was being punished too.

She was a jinx!

Felix left, very upset.

Grant comforted Amelia. "Amelia, don't mind him. Felix is just simple-minded with more brawn than brains, but he's not bad at heart. Once he accepts you, he'll treat you better than he treats himself."

Amelia nodded. "I wasn't bothered."

Natalie patted Amelia's hand.

"You just got back, he's not familiar with you yet. It'll get better. If he treats you like this in the future, tell me, and I'll teach him a lesson for you."

Amelia thought to herself that she didn't need Natalie—she could teach Felix a lesson herself.

"By the way, Mom."

Grant asked about Liam and Mason at this moment.

"I heard from the servants that Liam and Mason were also taken away? Didn't they say only Dad was reported? They're not in politics, how did they get involved?"

Natalie sighed deeply and said. "They got into a conflict with the people who took your father away. I've already hired a lawyer, and your third brother Lucas is also working on this. They should be released soon."

"Lucas? Isn't he filming with the crew?"

"With something like this happening at home, how could he stay with the crew? He came back yesterday."

"What about Hunter?"

"Hunter doesn't know about the family situation yet. He's still doing medical aid abroad. Don't tell him either, so it won't interfere with his work."

The Richardson family's situation seemed tricky, but actually, this was just part of their plan.

But she couldn't tell her sons about this yet.

Grant nodded thoughtfully and asked. "What can I do to help?"

"Get ready. In three days, we'll hold a welcome party for Amelia. Since Amelia has decided to stay, no matter what, we need to do it properly and let everyone know her identity."

"But..."

Grant looked at Amelia hesitantly.

Amelia pretended not to notice and said, "Mom, I'll go make your medicine."

Natalie knew Grant had something to say, so she nodded. "Alright. Holden, take Amelia to the kitchen."

"Yes, Ms. Richardson, please."

After Amelia left and the door closed, Grant immediately spoke, "Given our family's current situation, if we hold a welcome party, people might not come."

"I know. Whether they come or not is up to them! What's important is giving Amelia a proper welcome! No matter how down and out the family is, we can't let Amelia suffer. She's been through enough hardship all these years."

Besides, the welcome party was also a good opportunity to see people's true colors.

She would remember those who came.

And she would remember those who didn't.

Grant nodded. "Yes!"

"Alright, just focus on the preparations. Also, clean up Amelia's room later so she can live comfortably. She's already suffered enough. Even if the family is in difficulty, we must take good care of her."

"You just rest well. I'll take care of the room. Besides, all these years, you've personally deep-cleaned her room every week. She can move in anytime."

Natalie nodded, but still felt it wasn't enough. She took out her phone and personally selected clothes and other daily necessities for Amelia.

That outfit she was wearing was too old. Just looking at it made her heart ache.

She didn't have the chance to take good care of Amelia before. Now that Amelia was back, even though her health hadn't fully recovered, she was happy to do this.

As Natalie selected clothes, she smiled.

But as she smiled, tears flowed out, over and over again.

Meanwhile, Amelia had already started preparing Natalie's medicine.

Natalie's health hadn't been good since Amelia went missing.

So the house never ran out of medicine.

Because of this, Amelia easily found all the herbs she needed.

"Simmer on low heat for an hour."

She instructed Holden to watch the medicine, then walked toward Natalie's room.

As she walked, she looked through her phone at the information about the Richardson family that the curly-haired young man had sent over.

Before Quinton was taken in for investigation, he was a prominent figure in Goldenvale.

His six sons all seemed quite unremarkable.

Especially Liam, who was disabled—his legs had a congenital condition from birth, and he could only get around in a wheelchair.

The curly-haired young man was frantically sending messages.

[Amelia, the Richardson family is done for. If things don't look right, get out of there quickly. Don't let them exploit you. What if they're the same kind of people as that family in the countryside? You'd be in trouble.]

Amelia replied "okay" and continued walking upstairs.

Having experienced someone like Piper, she wouldn't let her guard down easily.

So until she figured out what kind of people they were, she wouldn't reveal her secret identity.

What she needed to do now was use the Richardson family's identity to arrange for the Shadow Operations Division to smoothly transfer to Goldenvale.

Passing by a room, she heard sounds of pain and sharp intakes of breath from inside, as if someone was suffering.

She paused slightly, pulled the door handle, and walked in.

Inside was none other than Felix.

He was trying to drink water, but his hand was dislocated and he couldn't use any strength. He had just filled the glass when his whole body was drenched in cold sweat, as if he'd just taken a shower.

Hearing the door open, he instinctively looked toward it.

Seeing it was Amelia, his face immediately showed disgust.

"Are you here to laugh at me?"

Amelia didn't respond. She walked up to Felix in a few steps and, under his suspicious gaze, grabbed his dislocated right hand.

"What are you doing!"

He tried to pull back warily, but Amelia's hand gripped tightly. He couldn't pull his hand back at all.

"Damn it! You're asking for a beating!"

Felix was about to strike at Amelia with his other hand when he suddenly felt strength return to his dislocated right hand.

He rotated his wrist in confusion—it didn't hurt anymore!

Only then did he realize that Amelia had just been setting his bone back in place.

He looked at Amelia in shock, but she had already turned and was walking out.
