Chapter 5 Untitled Chapter
Chapter five
With her broken arm stiff at her side, she marched up to Lei, her bully, and using all her might punched her straight in the face.
The punch knocked Lei flat on her ass where she sat gaping up at Rina, along with everyone else.
The omega was fighting back. No one was expecting that.
Alpha Lyon had been busy correcting some of the warrior moves, when he saw the punch happen. All he could feel was pride as he watched. Finally his little omega was fighting back, he thought. Fucking beautiful.
Rina stood chest heaving, daring Lei to fight back but Lei simply lowered her eyes, her face burning with humiliation as this would significantly lower her already low status in the pack.
“All right, training is over. Everyone move out!” Alpha Lyon barked at once.
One by one everyone responded to the order until they were the only two left in the training grounds. The alpha prince and Rina.
“Where’s Cain?”
“Behind me.” Was Rina’s clipped answer.
Alpha Lyon smirked at the light of battle that was still blazing behind Rina’s eyes. “It seems like you still have some pent up anger, little omega. Why don’t you come at me?”
That was all the encouragement Rina needed. She lunged at the alpha who dodged all her attacks with ease.
He began instructing her as they sparred. “Don’t always be on the attack. Whenever you see an opponent that’s bigger than you, solidify your defense and keep your eye out for any weaknesses they may have.”
With one swift flawless move, he swept Rina’s legs from under her causing her to land on the floor.
Rina huffed in defeat, trying to recover her breath. “But you don’t have any weaknesses. How am I supposed to defeat you?”
The prince simply folded his hands. “You’ll have to discover that for yourself, little omega. But I’m not who you should be concerning yourself with right now.”
The prince’s voice got more serious. “The first challenge is in less than a week’s time. And your opponent, she is one of the most dangerous.”
“Who is it?” Rina asked, swallowing .
“The crown princess of smyria.”
Rina remembered her. How could she not? She was the biggest of her opponents and definitely the strongest.
Rina’s shoulders slumped. “She’s so huge. How am I supposed to defeat her?”
The Alpha tucked her chin up. “That’s the one thing about big people, little omega. Once you bring them down, it’s all over.”
Seeing the confidence in the prince’s eyes strengthened hers and she nodded. “Okay. I trust you. How do I bring her down?”
The prince nodded impressed and began showing her how to use her small stature to her advantage.
“Use your speed to tire them out. When people get frustrated, they often make mistakes.”
That’s how day by day, the alpha prince and Rina began meeting for their one on one training. Not only was Rina’s muscles strengthening, the mate bond between them was also growing stronger too, more tingles erupting whenever bodies collided.
The two figures watching way up in the balcony could see this clearly.
“This Rina girl is going to be a big problem if we aren’t careful,” the alpha king muttered irritably to his companion.
Junii just smiled coldly. “Don’t worry, your majesty. By tomorrow, we’ll be saying goodbye to her for good. The princess of smyria will crush her.”
Inevitably, the much anticipated day came. The first match of the Luna challenges. Whoever won this match would move on to the next match and at the end of all, the winner of the last match will become the mate of the prince and future luna of all four kingdoms.
Rina was up with the sun that day after a restless sleep. She was filled with negative thoughts and she was almost tempted to run away from it all. But suddenly, her door flew open and five omegas streamed into the room, holding bathing and make-up supplies.
“We were sent here by the alpha king to dress you for the match.” The omegas said, not daring to look her in the eyes.
To disobey a royal order was treasonous but Rina refused to be dressed up like some sacrificial lamb to the slaughter. So she sent them away and dressed herself up in her old rags. To her, she was making a statement.
A silent Cain appeared to escort her to the palatial dome that would be used for the challenges. It was already filled to its overflow with a blood thirsty crowd.
To get the crowd going, the royal announcer first called Rina into the arena. The crowd was unimpressed, booing as she entered. To them, this was going to be an easy match. Because what harm could an omega really do?
Then the announcer called in the crown princess of smyria. The huge woman appeared and when she spotted Rina’s small form, she almost doubled over in laughter.
“Is this who I’m expected to defeat? A tiny little omega?” She trash talked.
And the crowd joined her in laughter.
“I have an idea. Let’s make this more interesting, shall we?” The princess smirked. “If the omega can land even one hit on me, then I’ll gladly forfeit this match!”
“Do you agree with this omega?”
Just then Rina remembered what Alpha Lyon had told her about the first rule of fighting.
‘Never underestimate your opponent.’
So far the crown princess was breaking this rule. Rina would grab this advantage to her so she agreed.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the rules for this match have changed!” The official yelled in excitement. “If the omega can land even one blow on the crown princess of smyria, she automatically wins! Are you ready?!”
The crowd went wild.
“Then let the match begin!” The bell rang.
Immediately the bell rang, the crown princess charged at Rina with a mighty roar. She tried to punch Rina but Rina used her small size to dodge her hits. Her punch was so mighty that if one of them should touch Rina, it would immediately knock Rina out.
So far, Rina was on defense mode. She was blocking all the attacks of the giant woman but she knew that between the two of them she would tire out first. Desperately, she looked for an opening in the princess’s defense. When she spotted one, she tried to attack but suddenly the princess smiled.
“Gotcha!” It was a trap! Before Rina could even try to escape, she jacked Rina up and bulldozed her to the ground.
Rina could feel several of her bones crack with the force, along with some of her ribs. Blood was also pouring out of her mouth. Is this how she was going to die? She thought hazily. All that training and for nothing.
The crown princess was busy stirring up the crowd, amping them up as she showcased her extraordinary strength.
Meanwhile, up in the Royal dais, the king was satisfied. He would finally be rid of the pest once and for all.
Receiving the signal to finish it, the crown princess turned her attention back to Rina. Ignoring her gasps for breath, she lifted her high up in the air with one arm.
“I’ll choke you slowly,” the princess said with a thick accent. “Give the crowd a show, yeah?”
Rina was struggling weakly but it was in vain. Just when she was about to give up, she heard someone calling her name.
“Rina!” The prince shouted in her head. “Don’t give up! Fight!”
The desperation in his eyes forced her eyes open. Something within her began to unravel, and began to awaken. An animalistic creature. It fed her a power she’d never known in her entire life.
With superomega strength, she grabbed the princess' meaty hand and began to rip it away from her neck, snarling.
Freeing herself she fell to her feet, as her ribs and bones began mending itself. Her body started changing, becoming bigger and claws growing. When she lifted her head, the crown princess drew back in shock. Rina’s eyes were blood red!
Those eyes put the fear of the goddess into the crown princess.
“W-what are you?” She stammered out.
The Rina creature smiled, showing its elongated fangs. Then with gasping speed that even the most high ranking warriors would find hard to follow, she began landing hits after hits to the crown princess of smyria.
Now Rina should have been declared the winner based on the rules but the red eyed creature didn’t care about rules. It just wanted blood.
Her claws swiped out and scratched the face of the princess who let out a frightened bellow. Partially blinded now, she tried to escape. But Rina was ahead of her. With one swift uppercut, the celebrated crown princess of smyria flew high up in the air before crash landing on the earth, unconscious.
The whole arena was silent. The crowd was amazed, and whispered amongst themselves.
An omega had just shifted into a wolf before their eyes. Something that was as impossible as an Alpha mated to one.
But one thing was clear as they all looked at Rina’s red eyes.
Rina wasn’t just an ordinary omega.
