Introduction

I ended everything in an explosion on a remote Pacific island.
Then I woke up.
Sixteen years old. Overweight. Face covered in acne. Curled up in a freezing sports equipment room.
In three seconds, inside this body that had been despised for sixteen years, I figured it out.
I had been reborn in someone else’s body.
The original owner was an easy target. Her stepmother slowly poisoned her and ruined her health. Her younger sister betrayed and framed her. Classmates locked her in the dark and drenched her with cold water. Even the teachers stepped on her.
Unfortunately for them, the one living in this body now is the former leader of an assassin organization.
A woman who crawled back from hell.
I first settled last night’s score for the girl. Then I purged the toxins from her skin, scored full marks in physics, summoned a top lawyer to rush over and defend me to the second, and had the mayor personally show up to back me.
In this life, everyone who owes me will repay it, one debt at a time.

Chapter 1

On a lonely Pacific island stands a prison surrounded by steel and seawater.

Underground Level Seven, Special Detention Zone.

Isabelle mercilessly snapped the necks of three inmates who had a death wish, her cold gaze sweeping over everyone.

"You can call me Nyx. From now on, I'm in charge here."

In the monitoring room, several researchers looked grim.

"She really lives up to being The Syndicate's leader—still so arrogant even in Blood Prison," the middle-aged researcher said, pushing up his glasses.

"She won't be arrogant for long," a young researcher sneered. "Blood Prison is full of lunatics. No matter how good she is at fighting, can she beat everyone? Plus, she's been poisoned."

"Don't underestimate her," Dr. Lee said, staring at Isabelle on the screen. "She holds the 'Neural Synchronization Technology.' It took the organization ten years to plant an insider close to her. We finally got her here to extract the data from her."

"Notify Blood Shark. Tell him to go to Level Seven. Tell him he can use any means necessary to make Nyx talk."

Everyone gasped.

Blood Shark was the true ruler of Blood Prison—a monster even the guards didn't dare look at directly.

Late at night, Isabelle sat cross-legged on her bed with her eyes closed, meditating.

The poison in her body was getting worse. She knew it was a slow-acting neurotoxin, gradually eating away at her reflexes and stamina.

Heavy footsteps echoed outside the cell. Isabelle's eyes snapped open.

Soon, the door opened and a giant over two meters tall walked in.

His bare upper body was covered in scars, the most striking being a blood-red shark tattoo on his chest, fierce and terrifying.

Those equally blood-red eyes now fixed on Isabelle on the bed, gleaming with bloodlust.

Isabelle asked casually, "Dr. Lee sent you?"

Blood Shark grinned, showing yellowed teeth. "Dr. Lee told me to tell you—hand over the technology and he'll give you a decent death. Otherwise..."

He licked his lips, his expression growing more savage. "I have hundreds of ways to make you regret being born."

Isabelle slowly straightened up and flexed her wrists.

"You know what?" she suddenly said. "The reason I got caught wasn't because your insider was so clever."

Blood Shark raised an eyebrow.

"It's because I wanted to see how many people in the organization had betrayed me!"

Before her words ended, she moved—fast as a phantom.

Blood Shark only saw a blur. He instinctively threw a punch but hit nothing.

The next instant, pain exploded from his left ribs. He roared in pain as his massive body staggered backward.

Before he could steady himself, Isabelle's thumb was already pressed hard into the gap in his wrist bone, twisting sharply!

The teeth-grinding sound of cracking bone rang out. His wrist bent at a grotesque angle, white bone piercing through skin as blood gushed out instantly.

Blood Shark's eyes turned crimson. His other good hand grabbed for Isabelle's throat, trying to crush her windpipe with brute force.

Isabelle didn't dodge. She grabbed his broken wrist, used the momentum to leap up, wrapped her legs around his thick neck like scissors, and twisted her waist and abs with force.

"BOOM!"

The giant over two meters tall was swung into the air and slammed hard onto the cold concrete floor.

He struggled to get up but was pinned down by Isabelle's foot on his chest, unable to move.

His eyes filled with terror. Didn't Dr. Lee say this woman was poisoned? How could she still have such terrifying combat power?

Isabelle looked down at him, as if reading his thoughts. "Thought I'd be at your mercy just because I'm poisoned?"

She bent down slightly, her blood-stained face looking like a demon from hell in the dim light.

"You worthless trash are less than insects to me! I can crush you with one step!"

With that, she pressed down hard!

"CRACK!"

The sound of shattering bones was especially clear in the silent cell.

Blood Shark let out an inhuman howl, losing control of his bowels instantly as a foul stench spread.

Isabelle frowned and moved her foot away, as if she'd stepped on something dirty.

Blood Shark lay like mud on the ground, looking at Isabelle with eyes full of endless terror.

This monster... what the hell did Dr. Lee bring in here?!

Isabelle pulled out a cigarette from her pocket, along with a black remote control.

Blood Shark's pupils suddenly contracted. Wasn't that the remote for the prison's self-destruct system? How was it in this crazy woman's hands?

"Surprised?" Isabelle took a drag, smiling coldly. "You thought I came to Blood Prison completely unprepared?"

She casually flicked ash onto Blood Shark, exhaled a smoke ring, and smiled cruelly. "Now, let's play a game."

The entire prison's lights went out instantly, plunging into darkness.

Alarms blared like death knells as all electronic devices shut down simultaneously.

"You're insane! There are three thousand serious criminals here. If this gets out of control..." Blood Shark's eyes nearly popped out.

Isabelle laughed even more wildly. "The game has just begun."

All cell door locks popped open at once.

Roars, maniacal laughter, and footsteps came from all directions.

Isabelle didn't spare Blood Shark another glance and walked toward the monitoring room.

Along the way, rioting prisoners slaughtered each other, guards fled in chaos—the entire prison turned into a bloody hell.

When she reached the main control room, Dr. Lee was preparing to board a helicopter.

"Stop her!" he shouted to his guards.

Isabelle casually snapped the neck of a guard rushing at her and walked closer step by step.

"I knew the organization wanted the Neural Synchronization Technology. I knew you planted an insider. I knew you planned to force me to talk in Blood Prison."

She stopped at the control panel, her fingers rapidly typing on the keyboard. "So I went along with it and came here."

The screen lit up, showing a countdown: 00:00:59.

"What are you doing?" Dr. Lee asked in a trembling voice.

"There's a thousand tons of high explosives buried under this island, originally meant to destroy everything if a riot got out of control."

"Now, I've activated it."

"You're insane! You'll die too!" Dr. Lee's face turned deathly pale, his body shaking uncontrollably.

Isabelle laughed—bright and unrestrained. "I built The Syndicate to protect the people I wanted to protect, but you killed them for the technology. Now, I only care whether you can all die with them."

00:00:30.

Dr. Lee frantically lunged at the control panel but Isabelle kicked and shattered his kneecap.

"One last thing," Isabelle said softly, looking at the flames shooting into the sky outside. "I destroyed the technology data long ago. There will never be Neural Synchronization Technology in this world again."

00:00:00.

A world-destroying explosion instantly swallowed everything.

——

River City, Third High School.

The sports equipment room door was kicked open roughly as several girls covered their noses and stepped back.

"It really stinks. Did that fat pig stay in there all night?"

"Serves her right. Who told her to try to seduce Eric Wells when she's so ugly?"

"Hey, are you dead?"

One girl kicked the figure curled up in the corner.

The figure moved and slowly lifted her head.

Messy hair stuck to her face, which was covered in red, swollen pimples. Her soaked uniform outlined her obese body. Despite her hideous face, those eyes shone startlingly bright.

Cold and bloodthirsty, filled with a madness to destroy everything.

"What are you looking at?!" The lead girl felt unnerved by that gaze and kicked again.

But this time, her ankle was caught by a burning hot hand.
