Chapter 48

The wedding was only three days away. The seamstresses had called and told us that our wedding attire was ready for the last fitting. If everything went well, we could take them home today.

The dress fit me like a dream. It was everything that I had ever hoped for in a wedding dress. The seamstresses had done a wonderful job bringing my design to life. I hadn’t been able to see Arthur’s suit, but he pretty much said the same thing. He said that I had done a beautiful job.

I was glowing with pride when it was over. The final fitting had only taken an hour and we had already loaded the clothes into the car. I thought we were just going to go back home, but Arthur had other plans.

“You have me for the rest of the night, little wolf. I canceled all my meetings so that we could make a date out of it. I’m going to take you to my favorite restaurant in the city,” Arthur informed me and I beamed up at him. I couldn’t believe it. He was taking me out on a date.

“What’s that look for?” Arthur asked, his eyes crinkling with merriment. They had been doing that more often. It made him look so much younger, like the boy he must have been before he became alpha.

“It’s going to be our first date,” I said and a soft pink blush spread across his face.

“I haven’t taken you out at all, have I?” he asked, running a hand through his hair. I shook my head. It wasn’t like our relationship was exactly normal. The contract hadn’t stipulated that he take me out on dates.

“Well, I’m going to rectify that tonight,” Arthur said and brought up my hand to press a gentle kiss onto it. “My apologies, my lady.”

I sat back in the seat as the driver sped along the highway. This would be the perfect opportunity to tell Arthur how I felt. I had chickened out after leaving the hospital that day, the words dying in my throat as soon as I had seen Arthur. This time I wouldn’t fail.

The restaurant ended up being on the top floor of the highest building in the city. What’s more, the booths and tables were on a rotating track so that diners got to see a three-hundred and sixty degree view. I had never been to such a fancy place.

Arthur had already ordered for us beforehand so the food came out quickly. It was a five-course dinner, dessert included. There was a salad, three different seafood entrees and a tiramisu. It was literal heaven. I couldn’t believe how delicious the food was. Almost orgasmic.

Arthur poured me another glass of wine with a smirk. “Now, will you behave if you drink this? It’s your second glass. I know how you get.”

I giggled. The doctor had said wine would be okay if I didn’t go over two glasses. Something about wolf metabolisms being faster and alcohol not being a danger to the baby. I was more than okay with that since two glasses was all I could handle anyway.

And right now I felt really good. Being wined and dined by Arthur was so much different than being wined and dined by Robert. I had usually ended up paying for everything and now I didn’t have to worry about money and could actually enjoy the meal.

I downed the second glass before Arthur could stop me and it immediately went to my head. I swayed in my seat, a happy smile on my face as I looked at the man across from me. He was so beautiful that it hurt.

“I should have known better,” Arthur muttered but he was smiling. I think he enjoyed watching me like this. As long as I wasn’t with another man. The thought caused me to giggle again.

“What am I going to do with you?” he asked in mocked exasperation and I just grinned at him.

“You could take me to the bathroom,” I suggested coyly, watching in satisfaction as his eyes darkened. My inner walls tightened and I pressed my legs together.

“Do you mean that, little wolf?” Arthur growled and I moaned as little as he ran his hand up my leg underneath the table.

He clamped a hand over my mouth. “No one else gets to hear your moans, but me. Understand?”

I nodded as he stood up, taking me by the hand and leading us to the bathroom. No one stopped us. They all just suddenly became very busy when they noticed where we were going.

Arthur pulled me into the family bathroom. It was large and only had one toilet. At least we wouldn’t be hogging the place. Another giggle burst through my throat.

It was cut short when Arthur dragged my skirt up to my hips, leaving me exposed to the room, nothing between me and the air except for my panties. Arthur gripped them in his teeth and pulled them off, inch by inch. I threw my head back, watching him becoming too much.

His hot breath ghosted over my center before he stroked his tongue over it. I cried out, my hand fisting into his hair as my hips rocked against him. He grabbed my thighs in both hands and spread them farther so he could reach all of me.

A few strokes of his tongue was all it took before my orgasm hit me fast and hard. Arthur had to hold me up since my legs were shaking so badly. Arthur chuckled as he took off his pants, pinning me between him and the wall.

He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He lined himself up at my entrance before plunging into me in one swift thrust. I screamed out his name as he began to pick up his pace, slamming into me as deep as he could go.

We had never been this rough before and I was living for it. Every time my head smacked into the back of the wall, I saw stars. And not because I was about to pass out. I dug my fingernails into his shoulders as he growled against my neck.

His fangs slid into my neck and I came undone. I held onto him for dear life as I rode out my second orgasm, trembling in his arms. He followed me soon after, my name on his lips.

He touched his forehead to mine as our breathing became steady. “You never cease to amaze me.”

I gave him a brief kiss. It was no or never. I don’t think I could ask for a more perfect scenario than this.

“I love you, Arthur,” I murmured and Arthur’s entire body went still. If I wasn’t still holding onto him, I wouldn’t have known he was alive. He had become a statue.

I pressed my lips together. If this was his reaction, I guess I had my answer. I was going to have to give up Arthur and our little girl. I had been reading the signs wrong. He didn’t feel the same way.

But then Arthur smiled down at me, his face transforming into one of pure happiness. “Tell me again when you’re sober, little wolf. I’ll give you my answer then.”
