Chapter 2 Plans

Nissah

After we parked in the parking garage, I helped Josh get his backpack and duffle out of the trunk, and we started up to his father’s office. I checked my watch and saw that we were actually going to be a few minutes early, which wasn’t a bad thing in my opinion. Philip had a tendency to be a bit forgetful where his son was concerned, so hopefully this would help speed things along.

When we reached the top floor, we headed towards Phillip’s office. His secretary smiled at both of us and indicated the closed door, “They are still in the meeting, but I believe it’s wrapping up.” I nodded.

With that, Josh and I took seats in the waiting area, and he pulled out his phone to play games while we waited for his father. It actually wasn’t very long before I heard the office door open and turned to see Philip leaving his office, followed by four other men who were all impeccably dressed.

When I stood up, he turned to look towards me, and then had all of the other men turn towards me. Then I caught my breath. They were all incredibly handsome, rather beautiful men. They all stared at me very intently, and I could feel my cheeks heat at their blatant stares. They were all rather compelling, and I was sure it served them well in business.

“Ah, Miss Ardelean, I see you have brought Josh. Thank you.” He then turned to his son.

“Do you have all of your things, son?” Josh nodded glumly at his father, and I saw Philip purse his mouth at his son’s attitude.

“Is this your son, Philip?” One of the men asked, and he had an accent I couldn’t place.

Philip turned to the man directly beside him who’d asked the question. “Yes, this is Josh, my eleven-year-old son. We are leaving now to head to the airport. We will be flying to my family’s home in Italy, where we will be staying for a while.” The man nodded.

Then the man turned to me, “And you are?”

I looked at Philip, and he seemed to clue in that he should introduce me. “Ah, this is Nissah Ardelean, Josh’s nanny.” I nodded in greeting to them all.

The man looked back at me and raised an eyebrow. “A nanny? We have actually been looking for a nanny. Are you with an agency?” I nodded.

Philip then turned and smiled at the man. “I can give you all of the information for the agency, Constantin, if you would like.” The man in question, Constantin, apparently.

“That would be great, Philip. I never imagined that trying to find a nanny would end up being such a big undertaking.” Philip nodded, and then he went back into his office while the men all turned and watched him.

When Philip came out, he handed the man a card. “I had this on my desk; this is the agency where I hired Miss Ardelean several years ago.” The man nodded and pocketed the card.

They all kept looking at me, and I was starting to get nervous about the way they kept watching me. “Well, I’ll leave you to it then. Josh, you take care of your dad, okay.”

He came over and gave me a big hug, and I hugged him back, rubbing his back as I did so. Then I waved and walked back to the elevator and went down to my car. Once I was inside I wiped a few tears before I went to my new apartment to see what I could accomplish today to distract myself.

Constantin

It was all I could do to stand here and not go to her, grab her, and whisk her away somewhere. This woman was my blood mate, and I automatically knew if she was mine, she was my brothers’ as well.

I had never thought to actually meet my blood mate, not after all these many years with no success. I sure as hell didn't expect to meet her at a contract signing for a new business acquisition of all things. Yet, here we were, and there she was. Now, I needed to get this finished up so we could get the fuck out of here and figure out how to secure our blood mate.

We were vampires, and due to a curse on our species, a blood mate was the only one who could ever complete and fulfill us, as well as give us children. In our world, it was the most sacred thing there was, and finding yours was the holy grail to us.

I could almost feel my brother’s questions and anxiety beating against me as we finished speaking with Philip Mercer, the now-former owner of our new business. We had to be careful about what we said and what we revealed, so there was no way we could speak here.

When we were in the elevator, I called the driver and had him meet us out front with the limo. Once we were all secured and on our way to our hotel, we finally had the privacy to speak.

“You know what she is, Constantin.” I nodded to Vasile, the second oldest of our family. After him was Ioan, and then Nicolae. We were now the leaders of the Strigoi vampires. We did business by changing our name slightly to Striglimor.

“Yes, Vasile, we all know who she is to us. Now, what we have to do is figure out how to get her to come with us home. So, we need to think of something, and then set it in motion so we can secure her.” All of them nodded at me.

We couldn’t very well just walk up to this woman and tell her that we were four ancient, very powerful vampires and she was our blood mate, and have her think anything other than that we were mentally ill. So, this would have to be done in a much different way. I already had an idea forming in my head, and I would explain it to my brothers when we were secure in our hotel room. Then we could set about putting our plans into motion.

We were planning on leaving to return home in less than a week. In that time, we would need to make sure we had her with us, one way or another. So, I watched the scenery pass as ideas and plans tumbled around in my mind.
