I woke up with the pillow still warm beside me, but the bed empty. I turned my head quickly, expecting to see her there, all messed up, curled up in the sheets. But there was no one there. Only her scent clung to the sheets.

"Fuck..." I muttered, throwing my arm over my head.

She was gone.
