He reset the phone before going to dial again but now there was no dial tone... He toggled the cradle again but still nothing. Ugh, a tree branch must have fallen on the phone line. Rolf answered as his alpha and luna ran towards the shelter hatch. The defeat in his alpha’s voice was clear to Rolf. He didn’t think he would live to see the morning sun. As he glanced at the wave of incoming rogues he growled. He may die but he was going to take all these sons of bitches with him! He ran to intercept the ones making a beeline for his alpha, he was clearly the target! As the first rogue’s neck exploded in his mouth, he felt a blinding pain in his back! He sensed another on his other side, but it was quickly swatted away by his mate and fell down dead beside them. He felt a flash of pain from their mate bond and looked helplessly as her back leg was grabbed by another! He tried to reach her, but they were separated! Looking to his side he saw the wolf coming and he knew that look in his eye! This was it! The end! A blur shot from behind him and ripped that wolf’s throat clear out! He couldn’t even see it! The blur circled around and took out the ones on his mate before standing protectively over her. The purple fur on the top of her head was a dead giveaway as his son’s mate looked around. He heard his son call out as he made his way over to them. Rolf stood on his three good legs, his mate’s back leg was shattered, and he felt the pain even though his leg was fine. He watched as Liza’s ears perked up and her wolf looked around before focusing on a spot in the woods. Just then a massive aura exploded from the forest knocking him on his stomach. What was that?! Suddenly Liza shifted back and to his surprise she was fully clothed! “Hey, we have to get you moved!” She said as she carefully picked up his mate and motioned towards the woods. “Beta Violet is sending out her power to disorient everyone!” That was only the Beta?! His head whipped around as an explosion hit the back of the packhouse! The hatch! What about the Alpha?! He felt his son lean up beside him and try to help him stand but his legs were weak. “Hang on we’re getting picked up!” Liza said, ducking back down. “We’re about to run through pepper and silver power, sorry.” She whispered. Almost out of nowhere they were swarmed by a group of people all dressed in the same outfit that Liza was wearing. He felt himself get picked up and run into the woods, he found himself laid down and he looked around and was shocked to see his alpha and luna here as well! They were injured as well but he was glad to see them safe. His mate was laid down beside him and he looked at her leg worriedly. Glancing around again he noticed the gamma female from SilverFang looking at them worriedly. “Can you run?” His mate shook her head no and he did the same, he would not leave her or his pack! The gamma nodded before she went into another bag and pulled out some shorts and two long dresses. “Here put these on and shift back so we can communicate better.” She whispered before her bag chirped. “Big Papa to Hot Mama, come in Hot Mama.” The gamma grabbed the radio and answered. “This is Hot Mama, go ahead Big Papa.” “Location? Status?” Somewhere overhead they could hear a slight buzzing noise. “Close to the main house, got alpha couple, gamma couple, plus young gamma couple. Need of medical transport for one female, broken leg. Over.” “Roger, I have visual. Prepare for incoming weapons and support equipment cache. Use same basket for medical extraction. Over.” “Over and out.” The gamma answered before looking to them. Wrap her leg as best you can and as soon as the basket gets here load her as fast as you can. “Yes Ma’am!” He looked around in disbelief before his mate spoke. “No, I’ll be okay. Get the Luna out first.” She growled through clenched teeth. “No. My orders.” The gamma said. “That leg of yours isn’t set right, you run the risk of severing an artery and bleeding out in minutes.” Your luna and mate will be right behind you.” She looked around as soon a large sled pulled by two more wolves arrived. “Get that unloaded now!” “Rolf go with them.” Eric growled. “What, but Alpha!” “That is an order! You are to save yourself!” He commanded with determination in his eyes. “Mates should not be separated.” He couldn’t believe his ears, but he couldn’t argue with his alpha. He felt his hand get grabbed by his mate and he looked over at her and squeezed her hand as she was moved to the long basket. “Room enough for the other gamma.” One of the warriors said as she was laid there. Rolf nodded and got beside her. As the basket started to move swiftly away from the group he looked to his son. ~~~ As soon as she reached the edge of the woods Violet shifted back and let out her full power. Around her the carnage was already bad, and she tried not to look at the innocent pack members and guards who were already slain. She felt her anger grow exponentially as a group of rogues started to head her way. Her orders were to get to the packhouse roof but there wasn’t a reason she couldn’t take a little time and let these bastards taste some silver bullets close up. Grabbing one pistol in each hand she started to unload at the rogues around her, and she glared as some of them started to run away from her. Don’t they know the phrase ‘never run from a marksman you’ll only die tired?’ She felt her eyes turn and in her mind’s eye equations and angles appeared. Adjusting for gun range, wind direction and target trajectory she fired round after round until both of her magazines were emptied. In one fluid motion she ejected them and snapped two more in place as she started to make her way towards the packhouse. She paused only slightly as her mate spoke behind her. “There’s Matthew and Ron!” He said in a desperate voice. Violet turned her head slightly, they were pinned down! She knew that one of the hatches was behind them and at least ten rogues were trying to get past them! Even though she knew she could accurately and efficiently gun all of them down it would be such a waste of bullets. And alpha taught her a new trick that she has been itching to try! “Follow me!” She said as she changed course and ran towards the two men as they fought in shifted form. Just as Matthew was jumped on Violet shouted with all the power she had! “SUBMIT!!!!” All of the attacking rogues hit the ground, as she was careful not to command Ron or his father. They looked at her in shock as she spoke again. “GET UP AND ATTACK THE OTHER ROGUES!!! KILL THEM ALL!!!” She demanded as she pointed at another attacking wave. “PROTECT THE MEMBERS OF THIS PACK AT THE COST OF YOUR LIVES!!!” The other three men stood there in shock as the rogues ran off and started to engage in their own allies! What power she has! “Damn!” Jake whispered as he looked on, wide-eyed. “Get ready for an incoming wave of our fighters, Beta Matthew.” She growled as she tried to open the hatch but nodded as it was secured from the inside. “We need to get you two to safety.” She heard her alpha say in mindlink.
