Chapter 6 You Belong to Me Now
Chapter 6: You Belong to Me Now
Evelyn’s POV
A dryness seized my throat as I stepped back, each movement slower than the last. This wasn’t a request. It was a command, and I was expected to obey whether I liked it or not.
“No…” I whispered, but the word barely left my lips.
My legs scraped against the cold marble floor as if they no longer belonged to me, as if the ground itself wished to deliver me back to him.
Lorenzo chuckled dryly, lifting his weight from the bed, elbows resting on his knees. “What now? You just did it a few hours ago and you were enjoying it.”
“I wasn’t enjoying shit!” I snapped, my voice trembling despite my efforts to act strong. “I only did that at gunpoint.”
He laughed mockingly. “Oh, wow. So I’ll have to get a gun then?”
The way he said it….there was no playfulness. No exaggeration. Just the truth. He talks about killing people with so much ease, like who planned on leaving in the whole world alone.
I didn’t respond to him. I was too busy calculating the chances of ever getting my freedom back.
My eyes met his, pleading. If I had any chance of regaining my life, I had to act humble. “For how long do you intend to keep me here?” I asked, my voice brittle, barely audible. “You can’t cage me like an animal.”
He stood from the bed, his presence expanding, swallowing the air between us. “As long as I wish,”
Then hissed in frustration.
In two long strides, Lorenzo was standing in front of me, his hot breath grazing my lips.
I shook my head in defiance. “You can’t do that.” I said, though my voice had lost its strength. ”I don’t owe you anything. I demand you release me now!”
He scoffed, eyes lowering to my throat as if imagining his hand around it. “No, Eve. You owe me a lot. The greedy bastard you call an uncle already sold you to me for just two million dollars. And there’s no way I’m letting you go until you undo what you did to me.”
Two million…..what?
My mind went blank. What kind of man pays that amount for a woman and still calls it just?
That was more money than I had ever imagined in my entire life. More than my entire bloodline could dream of.
I forced my gaze back to him, breathing hard. “Well, you just said it yourself…you paid my uncle, not me. So go to him for whatever you want.”
He grabbed my face, fingers clamping down on my jaw. A faint line curved at his lips, a dark smirk forming.
“You know…..no one has ever challenged me the way you do,” he said softly.
“When I stepped into that room, the nurses were trembling. But then my eyes found you. You stood out. Burning with fire, courage, and a fierce strength I had never seen in anyone.” His voice turned low, taunting. “And in that moment, I knew there was something special about you.”
He pressed his hardness against my core, and my lips parted in a sharp breath I didn’t consent to.
“What I don’t understand,” he whispered, each word drooping with possession. “Is how you could so easily awaken something that’s been dead inside me for years.”
His lips brushed mine so I thought that he would kiss me next.
A vibrating pulse deep in my core, responding to him, wishing he will stay like this forever.
No. No. That’s not mine. That’s him. He’s doing something to me. Some demonic mind trick.
I slammed my hands against his chest. “Get your hands off me, asshole!”
He didn’t let go. Instead, he tightened his grip around my wrists, locking them together above my head.
“You think being stubborn will set you free, huh?” he gritted, voice rough. “It will only make things worse.”
I swallowed hard, my pulse thundering in my ears.
My eyes darted around the room, searching for an escape route, because there was no way I could survive being trapped with this psychopathic, egocentric monster.
He caught the shift in my gaze and laughed bitterly. “Oh, little thing…..there’s no escape. My guards won’t hesitate to put a bullet through this tiny legs of yours if you try anything stupid.”
His lips curved. “News flash, I no longer have my powers. So I might not be able to heal you if they shoot you.”
My knees wobbled as fear gripped me. The thought of being shot twisted my stomach. If anything happened to me, who would care for Daisy? My uncle wouldn’t hesitate to sell her next.
But if I acted weak now, it would only give him the satisfaction he craved. I refused to let him see my fear.
So I lifted my chin and stared right into those red eyes that were never meant to exist in a human skull.
“You want me to give you back your powers, right?” I said, forcing my voice steady.
He said nothing. Just smiled, victorious.
“Then let’s get it over with,” I muttered. “So I can leave.”
He released one wrist, his head followed my movements.
My hand moved toward his pants, fingers curling around his belt, ready to rip it open when his strong hands clamped over mine.
“Not too fast, firecracker,” he murmured, a twisted smile forming. “Not until I quench the thirst you created.” He said, his tongue sweeping lazily across his lower lip, deliberate and teasing.
I gave him a warning glare. “You paid my uncle for your stupid black magic, not to make me your personal whore.”
His eyes turned dark, predatory. “I paid for all of you. You belong to me now.” Lorenzo leaned close until his lips brushed my ear. “When I see what I like, I buy it. And trust me, I always use of what’s mine. To the fullest.”
My heart slammed against my chest. “So…. even after you get your powers back, you’re not going to free me?”
A slow, cruel smile spread over his face. “I’ll decide when the time comes. For now…. let’s get down to business.”
“What business?” I breathed.
He released my wrists slightly, stepping back an inch. “I want to see you. All of you. I want to see that beautiful body of yours.”
My lips parted to argue, but I knew better.
Slowly, unblinking, I loosened my shoulders and began unbuttoning my dress, one button at a time. His Adam's apple bobbed as he watched, desire swirling in his eyes.
For the first time in my life, someone’s gaze made me feel both completely seen and utterly exposed. He looked at me like I belonged to him. Like he owned every breath I took.
And I hated it.
My fingers trembled at the final button before I finally let it go. The dress slipped from my shoulders, pooling at my hips.
His gaze fixed on my chest, and a wave of burning shame shot through me. Trembling, I folded my arms over my body.
He swallowed hard. “You don’t have to hide from me anymore.”
Before I could respond, he closed the distance between us again, voice low and drenched in hunger. “Remove everything, sweetheart.”
My heart jumped. This time, it wasn’t fear. It wasn’t anger. It was something deeper, darker…..something I never wanted to feel. At least not for someone that killed my family.
I didn’t know when my fingers moved again. But before I could stop myself, my bra hit the floor.
A rough growl slipped from his throat, his eyes blazing with a fire I couldn’t decipher.
