Chapter 6 The Don

“Don't you dare!”, Mrs Morales heard just as she was about to leave the office in anger.

The command infuriated her, pent up emotions rising as she turned to look at her husband.

“All I have done is support you! Support everything you do! Yet they took my daughter away from me because of you!

Don't you dare raise your voice at me!”, Mrs Morales replied as she approached him with slow steps.

Seeing his wife was about to go into her lethal state, Mr Morales simply turned, a scorn on his face as he dismissed her with his hand.

Luciano might be scary, but his wife's rage was even scarier.

He wasn't intent on finding out how angry she could get while he was trying to find a solution to their problem.

Mrs Morales headed out of the office, taking deep breaths as she headed towards her room, an attempt to calm herself.

She was going to take the advice she gave to her younger daughters, she was going to take a much needed nap.

At the moment, she didn't care if her husband needed one.

~~~
“What do you think they're arguing about!”, one of Isabella's sisters asked as they moved away from their room door.
Feeling the tension in the house, the sisters were not that surprised to hear their parents arguing.
“I don't know!”
“How about Isa, where did they take her?!”
“Will Isa be fine?”, the youngest asked her sister as she wondered if she would see her sister again.
“Isabella starà bene”, her sister answered.
She continued, “come on, let's go to bed now, we need all the rest we can get!”
Rather worried for their elder sister, Isabella's younger sister initially found it difficult to sleep. However, their bodies were too tired to process the worry they were feeling at the moment.
~~~

The cause of the family's tragedy sat still in the back seat of one of Luciano's many cars as he listened to Andreas brief him about the situation.

“The girl tried to escape, but she was caught by two of the men guarding the back entrance.

It turns out that her parents or sisters had no idea she was about to escape!”, Andreas reported as Luciano's eyes remained closed.

“Should we still expect Three hundred million from Mr Morales?!”, Andreas asked.

“No, send him an email in two days requesting the initial amount!”, Luciano replied, his emerald gems of an Iris now becoming apparent.

“Yes Don!”, Andreas answered, typing away on his tablet.

“What's the situation at Venice!?”, Luciano asked as he stared at the various buildings on the roadside.

“The gangs have some sort of Intel, they keep ambushing shipments and burning properties!”, Andreas summarized from the report he had gotten beforehand.

“And how has uncle been able to take care of this situation!?”, Luciano asked, looking through the report on Andreas’ tablet.

“He's in the hospital as we speak!”, Andreas answered, Scaring Luciano.

“Why?”, Luciano asked, trying not to entertain the thought of the worst thing possible happening to his uncle.

“He got hit in his shoulder by a stray bullet during a chase!”, Andreas answered.

Shaking his head in disbelief, Luciano handed Andreas his tablet.

“That Old man!! Still as stubborn as ever! All I asked him to do was supervise, not go around shooting bullets at deranged individuals!”, Luciano said, enraged by the thought of something bad happening to his uncle.

“Running around with his slight limp! How's he doing!”, Luciano asked.

“He's doing far better sir! But since his admission into the hospital, things have only gotten worse!”

“Very well then, book us a flight to Venice!”, Luciano said.

“Drive us to the airport!”, He said again, facing the driver.

“How about the girl sir?”, Andreas asked.

“Call Paula, tell her to make sure she works the house till I get back. Then I'll decide what to do with her. Till we get back, I want a surveillance report on her!”, Luciano said as he closed his eyes once again.

A rather questionable way of getting rest, Andreas knew better than to disturb Luciano, thus he kept further questions till when the Don wasn't getting rest.

~~~
“Ughhh, my head!”, Isabella said as she slowly stood up from her lying position in the backseat of the moving vehicle.
“Why is it so bright? Where am I?”, Isabella asked herself as her brain began to process that the day had broken.
She quickly recognised that she was in a moving vehicle despite her headache.
The memories started flooding in as she slowly started to remember everything that happened that morning till the Don with the green eyes injected something in her neck.
‘The Don with the green eyes’, she thought as she looked at her surroundings, trying to find Luciano.
However, it looked like it was just her and two other guards in the moving vehicle.
“Where are we!?”, she asked, her voice louder to gather the attention of the men in the driver and passenger seat.
Isabella got nothing but a stare from both men.
Thus, she pressed, “Can I at least know where you are taking me?”, Isabella asked, receiving nothing, not even a shrug, or a sneer, just blank faces.
Receiving nothing from the men, Isabella shrank back in her seat.
The thought of the possible places they could be taking her scaring her to the bones.
“Are they going to kill me?!”
“Or am I being imprisoned?!”
They suddenly passed by the shadow of a tall building, its height enough to snap Isabella out of her train of thought.
She raised her head to see the car approaching the tall building, going through equally massive gates and parking right In front of it.
“Come on out!”, one of the men said as Isabella came out of the car.
She had been too busy admiring the building that she didn't know when the car stopped, or when the man came to open the door for her.
